Lot of India's exports are petroleum products. We import crude oil, process these and sell these products abroad. A lot of people talk of Modi's luck when it comes to lower oil prices, but don't mention about the poorer luck coming from a weak world economy. As I mentioned in other posts, the government is doing a good job in economic front, but not yet a great job. We need to rapidly ease restrictions on trade, investments and doing business.

It’s still very early in the Su-57 program. It’s predecessor, the Su-27 was in service for about a decade before Russia landed any major export contracts. Despite some degree of waffling, there is a good chance that the Indian Air Force will end up acquiring the jet. Right now they are dismayed by the plane’s relatively large radar cross section. However, there is a good chance that they will end up buying the plane if photonic radar ends up working out.Additionally, China has expressed some interest in the plane. Although they have their own large, 5th generation fighter, the J-20, it is largely designed for air-to-air combat. The Su-57 is a multirole fighter with significantly better ground attack capabilities. Turkey is also considering purchasing the Su-57 as a replacement for the F-35. In all likelihood in the coming years, the Su-57 will win contracts. Many countries are waiting to see how the plane fares in Russian service before committing.

Communications intercepts proving that the ‘rogue operation’ was nothing of the sort, for example.At that point I think they’ll just have to go with the old classic – when you’re caught red-handed doing something unambiguously evil – asking:‘Whose side are you on?’There are no ‘rogue operations’ in a police state.
