Where I am (just outside of Toronto, ON, Canada), Subway has a Crispy Chicken sub about half of the year, and then they pull it off the menu, so I have two:1: With Crispy ChickenSub: Crispy Chicken ParmBread: Italianno cheese, but still tomato saucetoastedafter roasting, just Parmesan and onions.Sub 2- No Crispy ChickenI go a totally different path in this situation (but still Chicken, because you can’t change everything.Sub: Oven-Roasted ChickenBread: Italianno cheese, not toastedLettuce, Cucumber, Red OnionChipotle Southwest and Ranch, ParmesanOkay, maybe their not that different. But whatever, they are both good!

I have two stories from my life that I want to share here that talk about how some things can ‘only happen in Canada’. While one may say these also happen elsewhere, they have for me only happened in Canada :)It was summer of 2002, and I was part of the pilgrims visiting for the World Youth Days. We were a large bunch of Indian and Pakistani pilgrims from Dubai in the Middle East.One afternoon, we were at the subway station near Rogers Center and some of us stopped to rest near the supermarket underground. Right next to the supermarket was a doughnut kiosk. I was hungry, so I trotted down to it and ordered a couple of doughnuts. There was an older Canadian lady with beautiful silver hair and a face of someone who’d seen it all. Kind eye. I knelt on one knee to get my money from my wallet which was in my backpack. Took a couple of minutes.When I got back up, I handed over the money to the cashier and he declined, saying “that lady who was just here saw your backpack with the event logo, realised you’re a tourist and asked if she could pay for you!”To date, I don’t know who she was. I do know, however, she anonymously paid for a hungry lad’s snack out of the goodness of her heart. <3SECOND:Same trip, we had had a long day in the city and were going back to the St. Rose of Lima school where we had been lodged. On our way there in a suburb in Mississauga, we passed a water vending machine. My best friend and I struggled to find change to put into the machine, and so decided to walk away and continue on home.5 minutes later, a Canadian man who was probably in his 40s ran up to us, panting heavily, and handed us 2 bottles of ice cold water. He said he’d noticed from afar that we didn’t have change for water, so he bought the bottles himself and ran over to give some to us.He didn’t need to do that! And yet, there we were. :)Canada is the template for humanity. Thanks for reading :)

Canada is home of most fresh water lakes. Fresh Air, excess greenery, minimal noise pollution - cannot honk, unless there is a real requirement.Housing - Managed by city municipalities, they keep the city neat and tidy, area layouts are designed to avoid congestion, garbage management - every house/apartment has a dedicated bin for thrash, transparent registrations with rules/laws for tenants and owners to avoid conflicts.Free Healthcare - Get a dedicated family doctor, walk-in clinics are in every area at a walk-able distance, free tests and courteous/professional doctors and healthcare workers.Child/Retirement Support - Every child gets a payment based on the household income until the age of 18. Government manged retirement income based on your contribution.Public Transportation - Subway, Trams, buses, trains with great frequency and service, again neat and tidy.Law and Order: One number to call to report any issue, fire, safety, etc. It is safe for a man or a women to travel alone at any given point of time, everyone is equal and has same rights and are not discriminated based on their color, gender, caste/religion.Work: Adding to the above points there is dignity of labor, minimum wage and strong anti harassment laws in work place to work freely and without fear of your co-workers/managers.Luxury: You can find the biggest brands and the place to enjoy them, from luxurious Villas/Houses to the best of cars/watches/events.Coming to disadvantages.Weather: Extreme winter starts in Jan and stays until April, life does not stop in winters, all houses and work places are well equipped with heaters and fire-alarm systems, any extreme weather is alerted in advance, there is a snow management service in place. Cars and public transport have heating enabled. Winter jackets, gloves, thermal wear, scarves, boots, caps, etc are must during winters.Work Experience: Jobs are demanding and apart from having technical/professional expertise, excellent communication skills are expected.In conclusion you would enjoy a great quality of life in Canada.
