The King judged that he must die for his crimes, and that it must happen within one week of the hearing. Then the King asked if the thief had any last wishes, to which the thief gave a witty response, and amazed by his answer, and unable to counter it, the King let him go.His answer was:“I wish my death to be a surprise, so kill me on whichever day you please, but make sure I do not know of it the previous day. I should simply be woken up one morning and taken to the gallows.”Now here comes the twist:Assuming the judgement was passed on a Sunday, we will examine the following week, which is the time period decreed within which he must hang.
