In the newest MCU film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter is asked to take off his clothes in front of an older woman.The scene is supposed to be awkwardly comedic like the theme throughout the movie. Nobody had a problem with the scene in my theatre, and some women were even enjoying Peter undressing. But to me, it was just awkward and very uncomfortable, not funny.If the genders were switched and it were a girl who was forced to undress in front of an adult man while he stared at her and made demands, everyone would lose their minds. But since Peter is a dude, nobody cares, and once again men’s sexual harassment is being played off as a joke. Too often in our society, men’s sexual assault or sexual harassment is brushed off as unimportant and is shown in the media as something for laughs.Peter is a MINOR, a kid in high school, and he was very uncomfortable in this scene. Even if the actor is of age, the character is still a TEENAGER. And the MCU even makes it a point to show how young he is (Tony’s dad comments, Peter’s pop culture references, etc). Yet, everybody and their mothers shamelessly checked out his body and giggled. Can you imagine the backlash Marvel would receive if they catered to middle aged men fanservice of MJ’s body? The internet would explode about how misogynistic and objectifying it is.Not to mention another scene in this movie when MJ was watching Peter undress WITHOUT HIS CONSENT. If a guy did that, it would be creepy, but since she’s a girl, the public opinion is “yaaas queen, get it!” or “I would do the same if I were in her position, she’s so lucky.” No, it’s creepy no matter what. It shouldn’t matter what gender they are.

So I am a Social Studies Teacher, and some things about the profession that always bugged me was these things off the top of my head:1. Mr. Turner’s Method of Teaching.In the show, Boy Meets World, Mr. Turner was the cool teacher. While it is fun to be a cool teacher, there is a difference between being cool and pretending. Kids will pick up on your phoniness, trust me. In one early episode, how does Mr. Turner get his students excited about reading The Odyssey? He tells them to read X-Men and that the class discussion will be a compare/contrast. If I did that, I would be reprimanded. You could make connections with modern materials, but you have to follow the guidelines of required reading.2. Bad Teacher.Okay, so Cameron Diaz shows up to work clearly drunk and is not fired? What kind of Union do they have? Not to forget the other terrible things she did in this movie.3. Teacher’s teach one class a day.No we don’t, we teach various classes and see many different children each day.4. The Teacher is the last to enter the room.No, this is wrong. The law requires no classroom to be without a teacher present at all times when students are in the room.5. Going on Field Trips are not easy as they seem.One of the reasons I did not like the movie, School Of Rock was that a person like Jack Black would have been arrested on the spot for what he did in the movie. There is no way he could have gotten away with all he did in that movie. Field Trips, like the one’s he made up on the spot, are highly illegal because they do not factor in permission slips, health concerns, or contacting parents. The scene where the parents complain that he’s a shitty teacher was accurate to an extent. If there was a teacher who assigned listening to music as homework, that teacher would be fired for lack of academic conduct. Not only that, Jack Black should have been arrested.6. It’s okay to use a crossbow on your students.Mrs. Tingle uses a crossbow to actively kill her student in the movie, Teaching Mrs. Tingle. Nothing in that movie made any sense or was plausible.7. The Gym Teacher is always abusive to his students.IMPOSSIBLE. I have never seen any gym teacher who did this in real life. If he did, the person would be arrested for child Abuse.8. MS. TRUNCHBULLIf any principal was like her, they would have the school shut down and she would have been arrested for child abuse. No Superintendent visits to this school? Was any parent aware that “my principal threw a kid out the window?” What about the parents of the child in question? What did they do or say?9. Taking Matters Into Your Own Hands.Principal Rooney from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off would be have been fired for going above his duties in that movie. When he was clearly told by Mrs. Bueller that Ferris would be absent, that pretty much ended the movie right there. Rooney broke the rules by going after Ferris to see if he really was ill, because parent consent is pretty much a final decision. You can’t do what he did in the movie.10. Saturday DetentionThis is actually a threat and you could be stripped of your license for saying this to a student.No, you can’t do this. Sorry Principal Vernon.11. One Teacher is in each school.Ever notice that there only seems to be one teacher in each school in movies or tv shows? I know that’s because there would be too many actors to worry about, but it always made me chuckle.12. The Entire Movie, THE PRINCIPALOkay, where to start?Principal Rick would never be made Principal when he was arrested for getting into a drunken bar fight.Victor would have been arrested and removed from a school for being as violent and fucking psychotic he is in the movie.A janitor kills a student.The actions that Victor and Rick take on each other would have lead to both men’s arrests. It is laughable that a grown man is BEATING UP ON A TEENAGER.Nobody calls the cops in this movie until it is too late.

Earlier this week, Sylvester Stallone listed one of his houses on the market for $130,000,000.00. That’s not surprising. When you mostly write, direct, produce and star in seven sequels to one of the most popular movies in history, money comes with the territory. Lots of it.At the age of thirty, Stallone was an unemployed actor. No one was interested in hiring him. An accident at birth cut a facial nerve, leaving one side of his face droopy. It also affected his speech, making him look and sound like Fred Flintstone, minus a few dozen IQ points. He sold his wife’s jewelry without her consent. Still broke, he sold his purebred Mastiff for $50 to buy some food. Sylvester Stallone, the man with no education, no prospects, and no dog hated his life. He thought about the thirteen schools that expelled him for behavior problems, shooting arrows out of classroom windows, hacking the Santa display to pieces with a pipe, painting the neighbor’s house black… He relived the shame when, at the age of 15, he was informed by the school administration that his brain was “dormant”. All his life he had been bullied.Just one opportunity; that’s all he wanted. To prove to himself and the world that he wasn’t “just another bum from the neighborhood”.Several days passed. As he wallowed in his misery, sulking and feeling sorry for himself, Stallone heard about Chuck “The Bayonne Bleeder” Wepner, going fifteen rounds with the heavyweight champion, Muhammad Ali. He later watched the fight on ABC’s Wide World of Sports.This was not possible. Wepner, a mediocre fighter, known for his blood splattering in the faces of people seated in the first three rows rather than his boxing skills, was supposed to lose..badly. Instead, he almost beat the man often considered the greatest boxer of all time.Stallone was inspired. Although, not a writer, he drafted a script based on a fighter, who against all odds fights the champ. It took him less than a day. Tweaking it took another three or four days.He gave it to his agent who passed it around. It was great; everybody agreed. A hundred-thousand dollars was offered. James Caan, who had recently played Sonny in The Godfather, would play the lead.Dead broke, Stallone turned it down.Three-hundred thousand dollars was offered.Again, Stallone turned it down. He knew that this was his opportunity. He just wanted to play the part of Rocky. That’s all. Everything else was secondary.Finally, MGM accepted the offer, giving the unknown Stallone $35,000.00 for the script and the lead. Bets were off. It was doomed for failure, but the risks were insignificant. The entire cost for the making of Rocky came out to less than one-million dollars.Stallone took the money and bought back his dog, Butkus, to “co-star” with him in the movie.Rocky ended up grossing over $220,000,000.00. It would turn into a money-making franchise - seven sequels, written, directed and starring Sylvester Stallone. A string of blockbusters, including Rambo, would make Stallone the highest-paid actor in Hollywood.The biggest surprise about getting rich? Opportunity is everywhere. Believe in yourself. Believe in your dreams. Get off your butt, and achieve your greatness. It’s there for the taking. Just ask Sylvester Stallone, the real-life Rocky.
