By answering with one or more scenes, explanations as to what points you find most appealing about each, and accompanying links to them, which is the one movie scene, perhaps in several movies, you watch again and again?

The Opera Scene - Shawshank RedemptionThe scene highlights the theme of this cinematic masterpiece. The theme of Hope. After persistently writing letters to the state government asking them for funds to improve the prison library, Andy receives a library donation which includes a recording of a Sull'aria...che soave zeffiretto [Duettino from Mozart's opera, The Marriage of Figaro]. He plays the record over the public addressing system of the prison.Time stands still and barriers of the prison seem non-existent as the voices of Italian lady captures the attention of the prison. Andy's inmates in the prison are liberated from their shackles with the feeling of hope and freedom.Andy attempts to do the greater good by defying the warning of Warden Norton and demonstrates the rebel dwelling within him. His willingness to sacrifice himself to punishment inorder to allow his friends taste freedom showcases his love towards them and also highlights his ideology. The ideology of hope which Andy later explains to Red, is what gets him through his time in the prison. Also, the act of defiance by Andy explains his attempt to debunk the mindset established by Warden Norton in the prison which has led to his inmates living a life of monotonous routine and in acceptance of their fate of being "institutionalized" in the prison."I have no idea to this day what those two Italian ladies were singing about, truth is, I don't want to know some things are best left unsaid. I like to think that it was something so beautiful it can't be expressed in words and makes your heart ache because of it. I tell you those voices soared higher and farther than anybody in a grey place dares to dream. It was like a beautiful bird flapped into our drab little cage and made those walls dissolve away and for the briefest of moments every last man at Shawshank felt free" - Red

Do rich people really pay their way into Harvard?

Absolutely, although Harvard would deny it. But there is a definite quid pro quo in a number of cases. A person close to me was on the alumni interviewing committee in NYC, spoke regularly with the Harvard admissions office, and was clued in to such matters. It was also common knowledge / generally accepted among guidance counselors at NYC private schools that students who were "library builders" would get in regardless of their academic performance in high school. There was a even a sliding scale on how much you needed to pay, based on how strong a candidate you were. A candidate who was just borderline might be only a million or two. One guy from NYC that I was aware of was apparently a C student in high school - I was told his family made a $6MM donation to get him in.As I understood it, you needed to be a legacy to pay your way in -- admission wasn't for sale to just anyone. And all legacies get a slight bump (I was a legacy myself), but you could clinch a spot as a legacy by making a big donation. And, of course, this behavior isn't unique to Harvard -- all the top schools do it.
