In my personal experience, yes.Pic 1: I love this one!I used to live in Kharagpur, India and was in kindergarten. The teacher gave us a test, which included fill in the blank questions and an outline of a flower. I got a 9/10. Since I couldn't find a cross on the paper, I asked my teacher what it was that I had done wrong. She told me that she had deducted 1 mark because I had filled each petal of the flower with a different colour. As a 5 year old, I was stunned! All I could see was how beautiful the rainbow coloured flower looked.Pic 2: I had coloured the flower like this.Anyway, as I got older I found out that flowers can have multicoloured petals. Infact, you can probably harvest one at home (Rainbow rose)! So the imagination/creativity of a 5 year old was not wrong (Can it ever be?). Though this incident happened more than 20 years back, it still reminds me of how disappointed I felt for having been penalised for thinking out-of-the-box.
