What was the biggest scandal at your high school?

A student got expelled and arrested over a joke shooting threat.Around October of last year, a bunch of kids were making false shooting threats on Snapchat and Sarahah. For about three weeks, the school became completely closed-campus with no cellphones at all. Students were also required to enter through the front door, where there were a ton of security officers. My school's principal even offered a $1200 reward for information linked to the joke threats. There were four separate incidents. Allow me to explain all of them:· Incident 1 - October 6, 2017: A student, who posted a picture of himself holding a weapon, had been making derogatory comments about cheerleaders on Snapchat. All the cheerleaders were sent home with their parents. The kid got expelled. Another kid got suspended for posting a picture of the 'weapon kid' with a caption about snitching.· Incident 2 - October 8, 2017: A student threatened to kill a girl because she wouldn't send him nudes. Someone reported him to our principal and I think he got either suspended or expelled.· Incident 3 - October 11, 2017: A student told a group chat with about 250 people in it (including me) that he was going to shoot up the school. I think he got suspended.· Incident 4 - October 12, 2017: A student posted a picture on Snapchat of him holding an AR-15 with the caption “Add me to your threat list.” He got expelled and arrested. He was charged with 4 misdemeanor counts of using a phone to harass people.Sources: Deanne Clifford (My principal), KREM News

Has there ever been any serious fights between students in your school?

Oh heck yes. Like, break out the pepper spray kind of fights. When you work at a large urban high school, the violence that permeates the neighborhoods surrounding your school often spill onto campus. As a teacher, you learn which fights to break up, and which fights to leave to the professionals. As Taylor Mali, the poet laureate (uncrowned) of the teaching profession put it in his poem “Miracle Workers”:If two boys are fighting, I break it up.But if two girls are fighting, I wait until it’s over and then drag what’s left to the nurse’s officeAnd he’s absolutely right. If you’re a female teacher who weighs 115 lbs., my advice is not to get involved, especially if you teach high school. If you’re a male teacher, it’s a judgement call (I am 6′2″ tall, and about 250 pounds). The times that I have been seriously injured when breaking up fights have all involved girls. As I get older (and less able to bounce), I have learned some signs to look for:Many boy fights have plenty of lead up (words, chest-bumping, etc.) before the first blow is struck, You can usually intercede with a loud voice and commanding presence. For a serious girl fight, keep an eye out for who’s taking off their jewelry (piercings especially). That’s a clue that things are about to get serious.Fights involving gangs are usually planned in advance, and get ugly quick. Your role in those fights is to identify students who aren’t involved and get them out of the danger zone as quickly as possible. Leave these fights to the professionals (school police, campus security monitors, administrators, etc.). They’ll bring out the serious tools to disperse (the aforementioned pepper spray, etc).BTW: Most police officers will be kind enough to tap the pepper spray can against a table edge, column, etc. The *tink-tink-tink* is your clue to get clear and upwind as quickly as possible. Getting pepper sprayed is NOT a pleasant experience!Wow, I just painted a really grim picture, didn’t I?

What is the hostel life of a student at MUJ in the first year?

The last chick told you about the early days. If you wanna know about now here it goes:firstly a word of advice : don’t.don’t come here. even if youre getting cse or something, its my opinion but you will be far better off at vit, or manipal main campus, shiv nadar or wherever else you mightve cleared.the only attractive thing about this shithole would be the dome, which doesnt do much except enter an instagram photo or two. the faculty is mostly young and mediocre. the classrooms are pretty but not much else. If you still decide to come< understand that youll have to mostly study on your own. but the college is still passable. its better than most, and not too bad.coming to the hostel, look if you can somehow stay at a flat outside youre good but the hostel is a special, vile, kind of hell. theyre gonna cage you in like monkeys, if youre seen doing anything from a handshake, a hug or even sitting with a guy theyre gonna call your parents and tell them youre in a ‘pati-patni waala sambandh ‘ with the opposite sex. the warden is brash, undignified, tyrant, immensely sexist. for him every girl he sees is a potential sex-worker.If the villagers nearby try to harm the students (has happened), or their are fights the security gaurds or frail, powerless and blind. if there is a crowd formed say before a fest at the the main gate, the chief security officer will call the local police and welcome drunk havaldars as they catch and beat up students with lathis. students who arent getting entry in either the hostel or the college, but definitely end up in the hospital.they will however always water the plants. everyday. every single second. there will be on some corner of the campus or other tractors and pipes watering the plants. the treat the plants with immense care and effort. as if they paid the 5 lakh per annum. student complaints on the other hand are left uncared and ignored.you will be atleast an hour away from jaipur, all transports except the green bus will be grossly overpriced. mess food is so-so, there are eateries inside. there are student clubs, fest committees, no ragging. the mis people are evil, again.the winter months is the time when police guys patrols on the road right outside, and pick up anyone with a cigarette or the couples. also the hostel authorites get meaner then and give you black dots for entering after 8 or having an electric kettle.most breakups happen in and right after the summer and january.girls cannot leave their buildings and roam within the premises after 10. noone has ever stopped a boy.girls are not allowed to go to the rooftops of terrace. they have iron meshes. guys have no locks whatsoever.girls cant wear shorts, skirts, anything. obviously boys have no restrictions.guys dont even have any restrictions against nightouts. or entering late.girls cant leave the hostel after 7. guys can.wifi is so-so. weed market adequate. chems come from delhi or ajmer/pushkar mostly.library is nice, too many rules though but that can be probably said for anywhere.score point in maharani, theka down the street. and hk is like 5 min away. the little shack of shops about 250 meters on either side are called thadi.so its a most wonderful campus, proper nourishment, undivided attention and care and all the love and respect if you happen to be a plant.you’ll most probably regret it. personally wont recommend.
