My suggestion would be to visit website of the IITs you want to do Intern. Go to departments and then Faculty. Here you will find the list of all faculties in that specific department. Read their research Interest and take a note of Professors whose research work interests you. Read their one or two papers to know more about them.Final step- For an internship application, you will have to write an email to the professor you're interested to intern under. The email address of a professor can be found on the IIT's website under the faculty section. I also have an effective understanding of Principles of Economics- supply, demand, market, competition, production, growth, taxation etc.I have browsed through your research interests and found that your current projects are dynamic model for forecasting in Indian Retail Sector, Store Atmospherics as a Tool for Retail Productivity’ and Technographic Segmentation of Indian Retail Consumers. I have keen understanding of the behaviour of the markets and what type of strategies can be employed. I also have the idea about the economical working of the market and how the prices, discounts can be set to increase overall profit. I am also interested in learning more in the field of marketing. There are two ways to apply for research internship.1-Mail professors by yourself2-Ask if your own college professor has any contact with foreign university professor in related fieldSecond method is relatively easy as well as has a very high chance. I will advice you to first try this one.Mailing professors by yourself is bit tedious as well as response rate will be very lessAs you have mentioned in details, you just have the course knowledge using different methods.
