PDF Editor FAQ

We have both climate change fear mongers as well as denialists. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. What is it?

The inconvenient truth about Climate Change is that the climate may be changing, but sea level rise is not spiraling out of control. Some of the fear mongers know this, and they act accordingly - while parroting the bullshit about catastrophic sea level rise.I am a civil engineer with 30 years of experience related to coastal flood control in Washington State, specifically: levees, floodwalls, and tidal drainage infrastructure (pump stations and tide gates). Back in 1997 I was Seattle District USACE Engineer of the Year for the design and construction of an 11.2 million dollar flood control project at Aberdeen and Cosmopolis. (The project has a congressionally authorized cost of $28.2 million based on a feasibility level design - but I did a little “value engineering” and reduced the actual cost to $11.2 million.)The fellow to the left of me in the above photograph is named John Quigg. His construction company (Quigg Brothers) built the South Aberdeen levee and tide gates that I designed. I’m 6’-3” and John makes me look short. John was a star on the UW Huskies basketball team and he was also a star on his high school team (Hoquium High) that lost the state championship game to Ingraham High School back in 1969.[1][1][1][1]I graduated from Ingraham High school in 1978. I recently learned that Governor Inslee was on the Ingraham High basketball team that won the state championship. (That’s far fewer than six degrees of separation between me, John Quigg and Governor Inslee.)The first of two debates between the Democratic candidates for the 2020 presidential election will be held this week on June 26th. The Governor of my state - Governor Jay Inslee - will be one of the participants. His entire campaign is centered on climate change.[2][2][2][2]While Jay Inslee was Governor, the Seattle Department of Transportation rebuilt the Elliott Bay Seawall in downtown Seattle. The 400 million dollar seawall is no higher than the original 1920-era seawall. Why did Governor Inslee allow this???Jeff Juel's answer to How will coastal cities adapt to rising sea levels? There’s a NOAA tide gage (9447130) located 50 feet from the new seawall.[3][3][3][3] The highest measured water level happened on January 27, 1983. (That was 36 years ago!) If sea level rise was a problem, the highest observed water level would have been recorded within the last couple of years. In addition, the new seawall would have been constructed a couple of feet higher than the old seawall.Back in 1983, the still water level on the high tide of January 27 was less than four feet below the top of the old seawall. This water level is shown on a graphic about the sea wall by SDOT.[4][4][4][4]Back in 2008, the UW Climate Impacts Group proclaimed that the worst case scenario for sea level rise was 50 inches. In 2013, the Seattle DOT announced that our new seawall was being constructed to accommodate the worst case scenario for sea level rise: 50 inches. This is deceit. If we experience 50 inches of sea level rise, the new seawall will be regularly overtopped by waves during annual king tides. Don’t worry, the mean sea level is rising at the rate of 2.06 mm/yr or 8 inches per century.By coincidence 206 is the area code for Seattle. But I digress. The mean sea level has been rising at this rate since 1899 - which was well before atmospheric CO2 levels increased significantly above preindustrial levels. At the Golden Gate in San Francisco, the mean sea level has been rising at a constant rate since 1854.Below is a fascinating photograph that tells a very disconcerting story about global warming, sea level rise, deceit, fraud, conspiracy and cover-up - all of which occurred under Governor Inslee’s rule. This photograph was taken on March 10, 2016 at the Wiley Slough tidal wetland restoration project in Skagit County. That is water from an unusually high tide pouring over a set-back levee constructed in 2008.The 175-acre Wiley Slough restoration was proposed in 2002. It was completed in partnership with the tribes, Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), Seattle City Light and the conservation group Skagit Watershed Council, with funding from the state Salmon Recovery Funding Board, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, NOAA Restoration Center and the Estuary and Salmon Restoration Program.[5][5][5][5]Note the list of entities who collaborated on this project. (This is a conspiracy.)The structure to the right in the photo is a $530,000 tide gate structure that was completed just one month before this high tide that overtopped the levee. The brand new structure is a couple inches higher than the high tide.Around 2009, I noted that a winter storm had deposited flotsam on the top of the newly constructed levee at Wiley Slough and I alerted Steve Hinton, director of habitat restoration for the Skagit River System Cooperative. Mr Hinton was the manager of this multi-million dollar project. The levee was raised and surveyed in the following year. Obviously, they didn’t raise the levee enough. It is obvious that the conspirators wanted the levee to be overtopped so that they could proclaim this to be evidence of sea level rise. A presenter at the Washington DFW’s Salmon Conference in Wenatchee Washington (that I attended) in April of 2018 used the above photograph in his show and suggested that it was evidence of sea level rise.In summary:The story is that climate change is melting glaciers and this is causing the sea level to rise. This is nothing new. Glaciers have been melting and sea level rising since the end of the Little Ice Age.The deceit is that “the scientists” and Governor Inslee suggest that this is something new and it’s caused by rising atmospheric CO2 levels at 410 ppm.The backside of the Wiley Slough levee was armored with cobbles - but only where it was overtopped. This prevented a catastrophic levee failure but it also suggests that they knew the levee would eventually be overtopped. It happened one month after the work for the tide gate structure was completed. This is either gross incompetence or intentional fraud. Here is the truth:Sea level rise is happening. It has nothing to do with atmospheric CO2 levels and the rate of rise is not accelerating. The conspirators in Skagit County know this or they would have constructed their levee higher to prevent flooding with 50 inches of sea level rise.If sea level rise is a fraud, why should any of the climate change hysteria be taken seriously?Footnotes[1] NOAA Tides & Currents[1] NOAA Tides & Currents[1] NOAA Tides & Currents[1] NOAA Tides & Currents[2] Join Our Climate Movement[2] Join Our Climate Movement[2] Join Our Climate Movement[2] Join Our Climate Movement[3] NOAA Tides & Currents[3] NOAA Tides & Currents[3] NOAA Tides & Currents[3] NOAA Tides & Currents[4] Sea level and the seawall?[4] Sea level and the seawall?[4] Sea level and the seawall?[4] Sea level and the seawall?[5] Breakthrough week in tribal estuary restorations | Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission[5] Breakthrough week in tribal estuary restorations | Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission[5] Breakthrough week in tribal estuary restorations | Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission[5] Breakthrough week in tribal estuary restorations | Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission

The grounds are nicely manicured.Look at that lawn! There is no garage but so what? With more than 50 years personal experience in life buying things that are valued less than they really are, I sensed that this property might be a good deal, in fact because it is a remodeled church I thought, “what a great place to have the headquarters for the Church of Infinitology[5][5][5][5] and the Infinite Freedom Foundations of Grant County[6][6][6][6]”, two organizations I am the Founder of and I have a wish, desire and intention to expand both into my local neighborhoods of Ephrata, Moses Lake and Quincy.[7][7][7][7]I mean, its a project that didn’t get finished, but it sure has served the owners well.In fact the Realtor[8][8][8][8] who showed it to me, introduced me to the nice owner who told me they want to just retire and move to Baton Rouge, Louisiana[9][9][9][9].Not sure why you would want to trade the tranquility of Grant County[10][10][10][10] but for whatever reasons the sellers have, there were things being said by both the owner and Realtor that didn’t add up, like “you could always add a garage where there is now a beautiful work space perfect for training students for the University of Freenomics![11][11][11][11]Wouldn’t you agree that this is the perfect location for all of the above? The above space, to finish out would cost around $120,000 based on my own estimates. The below space would be perfect for people from all over Grant County to come hear me preach about the Infinite Infinitor of Infinities[12][12][12][12].In any event, on behalf of all the citizens of Grant County, and to answer the question, What is your honest review of Haven Real Estate Group of Moses Lake, Washington?I would have to say that they have a quality product for sale, even if its a bargain, and needs about $150,000 more to improve it to complete it to a finished product, the agent refused to write up the offer till I proved I had the money to buy it.Well, that was done, but when you really want something to happen for the greater good for the greatest possible number of people in Grant County, and not being selfish, I must remind all realtors who read here that will eventually get this message, that you have a duty to be honest with buyers and sellers based alone on your own professional code of ethics as a Realtor[13][13][13][13]!Never judge a person by what they appear to be, but by what they do!Kathryn HaworthAssociate Broker509-431-3356License Number: [email protected]"Kathryn is a highly respected realtor with a superior track record in the industry. She joined the real estate industry in 2013 to help others achieve their property dreams. Not only does she have deep knowledge of the Moses Lake region, but she also thinks outside the box to help secure the best real estate deals for her clients.
