The Kaizen Stocks - A Brief Study of the Long Term Continuous Growth Stocks of the Past Decade.I first heard about Kaizen while doing my PGDBA. It was an important value which was expected to be embibed by the students of our college. In a very simple term Kaizen means 'continuous improvement' meaning that you should improve yourself in a constant manner so that you can become a better person than who you were before.Taking a cue from this philosophy I thought why shouldn't I apply it on the stock market itself. There are companies which are improving and growing on one metric or the other so let us study, measure and collate all those companies under a common head.Thus began my research.Since I love screening and bottom up approach, I categorised companies on the basis of long term growth of a decade.Following metric were used in deriving the data -Growth Data of 10 year, 7 year, 5 year, 3 year, 1 year, YOY Quarterly1) Profit Growth2) Sales Growth3) ROE Growth4) ROCE Growth5) ROA Growth6) OPM Growth7) OCF Growth8) FCF Growth9) CAGR Growth10) M-Cap Growth11) WC Growth12) Cash & Equivalent Growth13) Inventory Turnover Growth14) Net Block Growth15) Debt (De) GrowthFor one metric atleast 3 screeners were built. For eg while screening Profit growth, one screen was used to derive companies that are continuously increasing on profit for a decade (eg profit growth > Profit growth 3Years >Profit growth 5Years and so on) Another screen was built to find profitable companies which have given 20% growth continuously for a decade (eg profit growth >20, profit growth 3Years >20 and so on). Similarly another screen was built to derive profitable companies which are continuously increasing in profit more than 20% for the past ten years (eg profit growth > Profit growth 3Years...till Profit growth 10Years >20)All these Profit screen were then streamlined into one common screen of profitable companies.Then, the same procedure of screening was followed for other metrics like Sales, ROE, CAGR.. etc etcFinally all the 1000+ names from the 50+ screeners were collected together and ranked according to the most common names.Please find below the 25 resultant names which are most common and atleast appear in the 4 constructed screeners (barring few)1) HUL2) TCS3) HONEYWELL4) ITC5) PETRONET LNG6) RBL BANK7) ABBOTT INDIA8) BAJAJ FINANCE9) BHARAT RASAYAN10) CASTROL INDIA11) COAL INDIA12) DOLAT INVESTMENTS13) FEDERAL BANK14) GODREJ CONSUMER15) HEXAWARE TECH16) KANSAI NEROLAC17) MARICO18) PAGE INDUSTRIES19) POWER GRID CORP.20) SREELEATHERS LTD.21) BRITANNIA INDS.22) GILETTE INDIA23) ATUL24) KOTAK MAHINDRA BANK25) Aarti IndustriesPlease Note - This is just a study of the continuously growing stocks of the past ten years. The minor semiaxis [math]OC[/math] is greater than the distance of a focus to the nearest vertex [math]FB[/math], but lesser than the distance of a focus to the opposite vertex [math]FA[/math].In the example, the vertex is at [math]V\colon(18,-2)[/math] and the focus at [math]F\colon(12,-2)[/math], so the distance between focus and vertex is [math]6[/math]. The minor axis is [math]24[/math][math][/math], so the minor semiaxis is [math]12[/math]. As [math]12>6,[/math] it means that [math]V[/math] is the vertex closes to focus [math]F[/math] ([math]B[/math] in our analysis). Also [math]AF\times6=12^2[/math], so [math]AF=24[/math].
