Fee receipt is sent via email. It also contains the appointment date.Appointment: every ward office has differ t times of operation for marriage registration, enquiry and reach accordingly. Husband, wife and three witnesses should carry indicated no. of photographs, original proof of residence + 1 photocopy of each + wedding card + printout of form + print out of fee receipt. You may stick the photos in the indicated area of the form but DO NOT SIGN, signature has to be done in front of registrar only. Bride, groom and three witnesses will sign in front of registrar and give thumb impression on formbride and groom will also have to do this in a registered book and on the affidavit.the entire procedure takes maximum of 30mins. If there is rush at your ward office reach early and get the first slot.Registration fee payment: After the appointment keep checking the payment link on mcgm website everyday by entering registration no. If it’s not approved yet the message will flash: awaiting approval. Generally it is approved within a week. Once approved a new window will pop up mentioning the fees, standard fees are registration fees ₹50 + processing fees ₹100, delay fees as penalty will be levied depending on the duration between marriage ceremony and marriage registration, maximum penalty is ₹200. Here too I recommend paying through debit card. After payment you will receive marriage certificate and fee receipt on email.Final stamping: Take 2 colour print outs of marriage certificate and 1 BW printout of fee receipt. Affix photograph of bride and groom below the date of marriage registration (date of fee payment) on the form (there is empty space provided for this). Sign adjacent to photo (not cross over). Do this on both copies. Go to registrar office at indicated time (generally after 2 pm), get stamp on one copy and submit the other along with fee receipt. I have recently applied for marriage registration under Hindu Marriage Act in Delhi (Dec 2018) and here are the steps I had to followa) Create a login on the e-District Delhi site (Department of Revenue, Govt. of NCT of Delhi). You will have to provide details of your Aadhar during registration.b) Once you log in, you need to click on the Marriage registration link under services and start filling up the application. You will need to provide details of the national ID for both bride and groom. Enter the address and other details for before marriage and after marriage for both. (Please note that the address should match the Address proof you will upload).c) On the next screen, you have to provide details of 2 witnesses. You have to provide PAN number of Government ID if they are government employees. (System does not allow any other proof other than PAN for witnesses). Only ID numbers are required. Proofs are not to be uploaded for the witnesses.d) On the next screen, you have to upload signed Affidavit, ID proof, Address Proof and Residence Proof for both bride and groom. These documents can be jpeg or pdf and size should be less than 100kb (this is a painful requirement as the documents scanned will be bigger in size. We had to paste both image in MSPAINT and compress it to like 20% of the original size to get to 100kb).e) You also have to upload your passport size pictures as well as a picture as a couple from the wedding. Size should be less than 50kb for the images.f) Once that is done, you can to pay online or select payment on the counter of the day of the appointment and then select the appointment. You can select one of the SDMs from the locations that cover the marriage venue, groom’s address or the bride’s address.g) Save the acknowledgement of the appointment as it contains your application number and status of paymentOn the day of appointment, you have to carry the followingFor bride and groomOriginal AffidavitOriginal ID, Address and Residence Proofs + 1 self attested photo copy of each proof uploaded on the website2 passport size photos (may not be required) and Photo of the marriage ceremony in postcard sizePrint out of the acknowledgementFor the witnessesSelf attested PAN card copySelf attested Address proof copyOnce you get to the venue, handover all the documents to the person manning the counter. There was no token system and the appointments don’t really matter and people do cut in between. It all depends on the employee as to what order people go in (Since it is a government office, be prepared for delays and waiting).Once they verify the document and click pictures of the groom, bride and the witnesses, the bride and groom have to verify the details entered and confirm. The employee will give a printout to be signed by the bride and groom. The original marriage certificate will be signed by the SDM later and uploaded onto the website. No further action is required by the couple
