Do mutual funds give negative returns also?

Hi Naval,Thanks for your question.Answer for your question is ‘YES’ and I would like to add the word called almost when I compare with situations of the firm at present. At present, I would like to give you a best practical example so that you can gain some knowledge and some experience at the end of this write up.Recently DHFL-Dewan Housing Finance Limited a very reputed Housing Firm has hit by India’s Credit Crisis. If you look at the Image, you can see that on Sep 2018, It has touched a high of rupees 628 and at present It has got ended to a low of rupees 83.30Even LIC and rakesh jhunjhunwala who is a great Investors is also holding this stock. DHFL is very reputed firm for mainly middle class people since they offer more RD-Recurring Deposit and Fixed Deposit returns. Now, I will take you to the room called Mutual Fund.Below are the list of Mutual Funds holding DHFL. You need to save money quickly before the situation gets even worse. Sometimes it will feel better to come out from partial loss where we can recover the lost money in upcoming days.If we knew well that we are travelling in wrong direction, then it;s good to take reverse at the beginning itself, instead of making a tedious wrong journey.Still many mutual funds are holding stocks which never give returns like Reliance Power, Reliance Communications and Reliance Capital. It is always better to get away from first symbolic crisis of an firm.Debit funds are in bad shape, but at the time of investment these stocks were AAA Rated. This is not the first time credit events have hurt debt funds. The impact is more visible now because the funds have become big. Also, multiple developments have happened in quick succession. A chunk of these are in the form of rating downgrades rather than credit default. This is more a temporary cyclical phenomenon.Mutual funds depends on equity and equity depends on its performance. Everything is inter linked.Say for example, orchid chemicals which is a chennai based one. It was one of the decent pharma firm going well and producing more returns for the investors.Orchid has also signed a 10-year agreement with Hospira to supply active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) for the beta-lactam products that are part of the transaction. With a turnover of $3,600 million Hospira is the global leader in generic injectable pharma business. One-fifth of the company’s pipeline value is made up of beta-lactam antibiotics with many of them being products for which Hospira has partnered with Orchid. But due to mismanagement and other issues, it has came under the umbrella of penny stocks.believe it or not, Orchid was on the Reserve Bank of India's second list of 28 defaulters that had to be referred to the NCLT before December 31 if no resolution was found by December 13.Hope that you have got some idea about Mutual Funds providing less returns.I request the readers to follow me in quora for more updates on Daily basis.Kindly upvote this if you feel that this article is worth to get more views.ThanksSudharsun

What are some good deep house chord progressions?

I have no particular experience with “Deep House” music, but I see that there is a tutorial on such progressions at:Deep House Chords - Attack MagazineWikipedia says that such chords make heavy use of 7ths, 9ths, 13ths, suspensions, and general alterations. I don’t know the “Deep House” practice on using chord notes from outside whatever scale is being employed, but for the Major scale, for example, there are 179 recognized chords that can be formed using only notes in the scale, many of which are seriously extended and/or altered. These are not 179 distinct chords, because many chord forms occur on multiple degrees of the major scale. Some chords are also “equivalent” in the sense of containing the same notes in a different order, e.g., C Maj6 and A min7; both are included in the list if 179 for the C Major scale. This chord list comes from the Scale-Chord Synopticon, which is mathematically complete for chords containing three or four notes and otherwise contains a large list of other chord forms known to exist. Some of these are classified as “Nonstandard” because they correspond to standard chords missing the 3rd or 5th; instead of a name, their intervals above the root are shown in braces.Apparently “Deep House” music has its own approaches to rhythm structure and instrumentation also, but the question asked only about chords. So as an example, it appears to me that you could start with any standard progression (although Wikipedia refers to “unrelated chromatic chords”, so in principle you could pick any set of chords that appeals to you on the spot and try to make it work) and proceed to replace them with more extended/altered chords with the same roots. Since dissonance plays such a role, I would imagine that a lot of auditioning would be needed to decide whether a given result is acceptable. If you’d like to try this with something based on the C Major scale (for example), here are the 179 chords. Note that the Major scale is classified as Scale #149 (Heptatonic #3 Mode 1) in the Scale-Chord Synopticon system, and the chord forms all have numbers, which are the ones in the list below. The chord notes are given in simple root inversion, so choosing a voicing for deployment is up to the artist.Chords for Scale #149 (7-3-1) C, Family 52:Chord #1 C Maj: C E GChord #1 F Maj: F A CChord I'm in the presentation industry and people are showing up with video's in all sorts of formats these days. The easiest way for me to show them is to put them into powerpoint and CocoDoc video converter has been a godsend for getting the videos into the format I need. This software has saved me a lot of time and hassle. Highly recommend it
