He has extensive ties to illegal activities via Russian banks, since no other banks will lend him money, for both his business and political financing. He also had hundreds of criminal investigations and civil lawsuits pending against him (pending because his appointees in the Justice Department refuse to prosecute). Here are a few of the most famous cases against him, just off the top of my head:The state of New York obtained criminal tax liens against Trump at least 36 times from 1973 to 2016.Trump paid $25 million to settle claims against the fraudulent Trump University, a few months before the election in 2016.Trump was accused by the federal government of housing discrimination (refusing to rent to black applicants) in 1973. He settled these criminal lawsuits out of court in 1975.The government brought Trump up on charges again in 1978 for failing to abide by the terms of his 1975 out of court housing discrimination settlement. He paid an undisclosed sum in fines and refused to admit guilt.Trump faced several more high-profile housing discrimination lawsuits throughout the 1980s and 1990s.The New Jersey Casino Control Commission fined Trump $200,000 in 1991, for illegally discriminating against black employees in his casinos.NJCCC again finedTrump $30,000 on 1991 for illegal activity financing his casinos.Trump currently has multiple child rape claims from 1999 pending against him, as the Justice Department policy prevents indicting a sitting President (a policy set in place by Trump’s own appointees).In 2001 the US SEC filed several suits against Trump for improper financial statements, money laundering, and tax evasion - all of which he dragged out for years before settling each out of court for an undisclosed sum.In 2003 the German federal government also filed a similar suit against Trump for money laundering.
