Club Acceptance Letter: Fill & Download for Free

My son was accepted Early Action to Yale. I don’t literally have a copy of his application, but a brief snapshot would be:35 on the ACT780 (Math II), 760 (Physics) and 710 (Spanish) on three SAT subject testsDidn’t have a GPA as such (went to school in the UK), but he had 10 A*s and an A at GCSEStudying 5 A-levelsA lot of extra curriculars, but nothing spectacular or unusual: debate, band, science clubs, running track, CCF, bit of charity work, etc.He had attended the Yale Young Global Scholars summer programme (and loved it); he also did a similar programme at UT AustinReferences were likely pretty good - he attends a UK boarding school on an academic scholarship. No official class ranks, but he won the prize for top student in his year about half of the years he studied there.Hope that helps. He didn’t really have a “spike” as such - just a smart kid who loved Yale, and happily they loved him back.Yale is definitely a class act in their admissions programme (I assume all Ivies are). I particularly liked the personal note they penned at the bottom of his acceptance letter (I know they do something similar for everyone, but it is still extremely classy).

I never spent a dime on education, and I got an offer from Google straight out of college.Growing up, many of my friends went to expensive private high schools, but I went to a specialized arts public high school called LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts which had less than 10% acceptance rate. How? When I was in middle school I would constantly draw. I drew everything — friends, flowers, landscapes, self portraits. I even had my own portrait business in the school yard where I sketched my friends for a few bucks. Getting accepted to the prestigious LaGuardia Arts High School was my first great financial decision. It taught me that it is possible to get a world class education for free.LaGuardia was a dream school. They played guitar in the halls and the musicals were of Broadway caliber. There were celebrity students like Madonna's daughter. All students took 3 arts classes on top of the standard high School subjects. As a high school kid, I was pretty resourceful. I would go to any free classes I could find: Yoga to the People in Manhattan, Summer Art classes in Stuyvesant High School, free SAT prep classes, museum classes…I was a full on nerd. I even enrolled myself in a free after school program that taught us about careers in advertising at the Art Directors Club in NYC. Although high school was amazing, the best education was adventuring in New York City for free.I decided I wanted a career in marketing; it was the perfect blend of art and business. While my friends partied, I would stay up all night with my SAT books and write college application essays. Soon, the acceptance letters came in the mail — $50K a year tuition on average for the creative schools. Finally, I got an interesting offer: a full ride scholarship to a public business school in NYC via the Macaulay Honors College Program, along with $7.5K to study abroad and a free MacBook Pro. Can you guess which offer I went with? ;-)I used the $7.5K to study in Barcelona and Paris with zero out of pocket. They even covered food. I hustled my way through college with 4 internships and freelance design work. I lived at home, had a 4 hour daily commute, and the 'campus life' was non-existent. Time management.Many people I know trying to get into college do everything they can so their high school transcript looks more impressive.Take me, a freshman. Someone who is 14 and shouldn't be worrying about college yet. I'm already doing robotics (which has potential scholarship opportunities), community service, and doubling up on math so some college sees I'm involved and committed and maybe they'll see some value in me. The two math classes alone have 2 hours of homework, plus robotics which went to 8:30 before our season ended.Next year I'm planning on doing 2 APs and 2 honors classes. Potential 4 hours of homework.We don't have the time to do everything we want to do. People at my school and I want to join a bunch of clubs, do community service, and every AP under the sun, but we don't have any time. We're taking time away from our sleep just so maybe we can get an acceptance letter from Harvard.I know my parents ask me to do stuff with them on weekends. I can't do them. I have work.I know my friends will sometimes ask if we should do something after school. I can't go anywhere. I have work.High school can be stressful, but in the long run I understand it's also preparing for college. Still, as a 14 year old stressing out about something 4 years down the line is a bit unwarranted.
