The residential colonies of RBI are generally situated in the heart of the city (except,of course, in Mumbai) and are not very far from offices (again, Mumbai is an exception).I am currently posted at RBI Bhopal Office and hence, can share some images of Avantika- the residential complex of RBI in Bhopal.The word Avantika means “the Princess of Ujjain” and it derives its name from Avantikapur (in Ujjain) where Lord Shiva is said to have resided. It is situated about 3.5 kms from RBI Office and takes about 10 mins of travel time.The colony is, by and large, a self sufficient place having facilities to play football, cricket, lawn tennis, basket-ball, badminton etc. The colony also has provision of dispensary, gym, community hall, a general store (kirana shop), ATM etc inside the campus itself.Here's the football ground welcoming the residents as soon as one enters the campus.There are ample facilities for children to play, along with a crèche for taking care of kids.The colony is filled with small gardens which gives the residents a feeling of living with nature.The view from the balcony of my flat is simply amazing. Its very refreshing to wake up to such beautiful scenery everyday.
