Is there a point in taking AP classes in the 12th grade?

I’m 100% with Joseph, and that’s why I am 100% against AP classes for high performers specifically, and against them in general for similar reasons.Since the point of school is to learn, and high performers by definition are self starters, I recommend going to college as a dual enrolled high school student. If you are saddled with a poor school district that restricts this option, you might want to do what I did: remove my daughter from high school completely, registered her for 15 credit hours as a dual enrolled homeschooler at the local community college, and she got all A’s. She also learned far more and had a lower overall workload than she did taking honors classes at the “Gold Star” Camarillo High School in California.Like Joseph said, I didn’t “worry about grades or SAT scores,” I was focused on what would help her to learn more, and the answer was to move her out an environment where she had been spending over half of her day being induced to conform and dealing with students who had no interest in learning. Once she was in real college, she was able to use the extra time to take art and dance classes, engage in philosophical discussions with people who cared about expanding their horizons, and focus on figuring out what she wanted to do in life.As a side benefit, since 1 semester of college counts for 1 year of High School, she was able to graduate high school a year early at the age of 16, as well as not being forced to spend time in college reviewing information she already learned in High School. She’s currently 17 and getting rave reviews doing an internship at a prestigious public university doing post-grad biological research into animal reproduction, so I’d say I made the right choice.Edit: She’s now a 21-year old college graduate from a prestigious just-below-Ivy-League university with an acceptance rate below 25%, and she was able to take 6 months off mid-degree to do research. This still support my above answer.

What are the things you did in college that still makes you nostalgic?

I did my Bachelor in veterinary science and Animal husbandry from Assam Agriculture University. It's located at the border of Meghalaya. It so happened we had practical class in the morning session examining cattles. So all of us reached the open area where our professor was going to teach how to check a cow for injuries, palpation and all. While demonstrating he strictly told us never to approach from sideways as cattle kick sideways. One by one we UGs followed our professor' demo. It was hot summer morning and I think the cattle also got irritated. I still remember next was a Manipuri UG. He just approached the cattle, hold his tail and all of a sudden with a jerk the cow start running , so was the student holding on to the tail for his dear lifeSomething like this.He was looking funnier with his white apron and stethoscope around his neck.I was doing my internship attached to a dairy farm. One morning I was told to do rectal palpation to diagnose pregnancy in a cow. It was a tall cow , Hariana breed I think. I wore my gynae dungareeSomething like this..As soon as I put my hand for palpation, the cow jumped so high kicking my hand so badly . still I suffer sometimes from that injury especially in winters.I did diploma in animal reproduction after graduation from IVRI Bareilly. I was the only girl, oneday in the practical class we were doing rectal palpation of buffaloes for pyometra cases( pus in the uterus) . One of the guy who was very short was doing the palpation, all of a sudden the buffalo had shooting diarrhoea which was sneared on his body and hair. I burst out laughing . I know I shouldn't have. He was looking so funny. I couldn't help.I learnt driving Scotty during my post graduation days .Palampur is a small hilly town in Himachal Pradesh. Our college was at the farthest end from the town. I was writing my thesis and for printing and all I had to visit the town frequently as the facilities weren't available near our college. So I bought Bajaj Scotty and learned within couple of days from my friends. It was easy as it was automatic. I was overconfident and oneday I just left for town to get some printing done but never reached the town. Palampur is a hilly place with so many turnings. I was in full speed. I still remember so clearly , when the turn came i just remembered I have to slow down but I got nervous and put full accelerator . I hit the culvert and my Scotty went flying up , I somersaulted and had fallen 30 feet down below the bridge inches from falling on the rocks. Then I saw my Scotty coming down and falling just inches from me. When I was falling my whole family's face came before me and I was crying thinking iam going to die so far away from home. It seems the whole traffic stopped and some people carried me from the ditch to hospital. I was in total shock.* My heart felt thanks to the Himachali people to help me. Some agriculture students were there during my fall ,who knew me by face that I'm veterinary PG student. They called up my friends and I got back to hostel. This I never told my family. After couple of days my face was completely black because of injury. It got better in a month. And I stopped driving. But after sometime I start driving because of my friend Dr Shweta Sharma. She encouraged me . One more friend who was doing PhD in agriculture helped to get out of the fear and start driving again. After that many more adventurous ride we girls had driving from Palampur to Dharamshala.I had some nostalgic fun days at college which bring smile to my lips just remembering them . Just like now iam writing and smiling. Thanks for the A2A.

Which among DU, LPU or Shoolini is good for a BSc in zoology hons.?

Core sciences programs in India are traditionally curated as just academic programs, without much focus on employability and other skills required by a person to earn a decent living. All three names taken in the question are doing well, but it is LPU which has taken the onus on itself to tweak these programs sot hat the employability of the students gets due focus. The Focus at LPU is on building concepts in biological sciences and enabling them to apply their experimental knowledge in various sectors of life sciences specifically in animal biology.A plethora of activities, credits, options and program outcomes are a part of this program, no stone is left unturned to professionalize the program by LPU.Discipline minors : A set of four elective courses in a related area to develop a competency beyond the major areaECONOMIC ZOOLOGY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGYPHARMACEUTICAL BIOTECHNOLOGYDepartmental electives from within the discipline, to give more depth or breadth to a student's core competencies.ANALYTICAL SKILLS Analytical Skills is the application of basic mathematical skills to efficiently analyze data by prioritizing and managing the Time.BASICS IN BIOINFORMATICS Provide information of basic bioanalytical tools, techniques and databases.
