His name was Al-Harith ibn Kalada. The dude is the oldest known Arab physician and was friends with your prophet [2][3]. We have a lot of historical sources to suggest a lot of revealing things about this man. This guy received his education from Jundishapur/ Gundeshapur on the works of Aristotle, Hippocrates and Galen![4] The guy then went on to become Muhammad’s friend and Muhammad used to consult with him regarding medical issues [5].So there you go! Not only was that knowledge centuries old for the Arabs of that time, Muhammad’s physician was well versed in those specific things. This explanation of how Muhammad might have known about Galen’s work is not necessary as there are other ways of centuries old knowledge being passed around.
