PDF Editor FAQ

What are the best words of wisdom to live by?

Firstly:One of the greatest attributes of Allaah is wisdom, and one of His greatest names is al-Hakeem (the most Wise). It should be noted that He has not created anything in vain; exalted be Allaah far above such a thing. Rather He creates things for great and wise reasons, and for sublime purposes. Those who know them know them and those who do not know them do not know them. Allaah has stated that in His Holy Book, where He says that He has not created mankind in vain, and He has not created the heavens and the earth in vain. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):“Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?”So Exalted be Allaah, the True King: Laa ilaaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne!”[al-Mu’minoon 23:115, 116]“We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for a (mere) play”[al-Anbiya’ 21:16]“And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play.We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not”[al-Dukhaan 44:38]“HaaMeem.[These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur’aan, and none but Allaah (Alone) knows their meanings.]The revelation of the Book (this Qur’aan) is from Allaah, the AllMighty, the AllWise. We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and for an appointed term. But those who disbelieve, turn away from that whereof they are warned”[al-Ahqaaf 46:1-3]Just as it is proven that there is wisdom behind the creation of man from the standpoint of sharee’ah (Islamic law), it is also proven from the standpoint of reason. The wise man cannot but accept that things have been created for a reason, and the wise man regards himself as being above doing things in his own life for no reason, so how about Allaah, the Wisest of the wise?Hence the wise believers affirm that there is wisdom in Allaah’s creation, and the disbelievers deny that. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):“Verily, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding. Those who remember Allaah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted are You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire”[Aal ‘Imraan 3:190, 191]And Allaah says, describing the attitude of the disbelievers towards the wisdom of His creation (interpretation of the meaning):“And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them without purpose! That is the consideration of those who disbelieve! Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islamic Monotheism) from the Fire!”[Saad 38:27]Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahmaan al-Sa’di (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:Allaah tells us of His perfect wisdom in creating the heavens and the earth, and that He has not created them in vain, i.e., in play with no beneficial purpose.“That is the consideration of those who disbelieve” in their Lord, because they think that which does not befit His Majesty.“Then woe to those who disbelieve (in Islamic Monotheism) from the Fire!” Allaah created the heavens and earth in truth for truth. He created them so that His slaves might understand the completeness of His Knowledge and Power and the extent of His Might, and that He Alone is the One to be worshipped, and not those who have not created even an atom in the heavens or on earth. And that they might know that the Resurrection is true and that Allaah will judge between the people of good and evil. The one who is ignorant of the wisdom of Allaah should not think that Allaah will treat them equally when judging them. Hence Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):“Shall We treat those who believe (in the Oneness of Allaah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds as Mufsidoon (those who associate partners in worship with Allaah and commit crimes) on earth? Or shall We treat the Muttaqoon (the pious) as the Fujjaar (criminals, disbelievers, the wicked)?”[Saad 38:28]This does not befit Our wisdom and Our judgement. End quote.Tafseer al-Sa’di, p. 712Secondly:Allaah has not created man to eat, drink and multiply, in which case he would be like the animals. Allaah has honoured man and favoured him far above many of those whom He has created, but many people insist on disbelief, so they are ignorant of or deny the true wisdom behind their creation, and all they care about is enjoying the pleasures of this world. The life of such people is like that of animals, and indeed they are even more astray. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):“while those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat as cattle eat; and the Fire will be their abode”[Muhammad 47:12]“Leave them to eat and enjoy, and let them be preoccupied with (false) hope. They will come to know!”[al-Hijr 15:3]“And surely, We have created many of the jinn and mankind for Hell. They have hearts wherewith they understand not, and they have eyes wherewith they see not, and they have ears wherewith they hear not (the truth). They are like cattle, nay even more astray; those! They are the heedless ones”[al-A’raaf 7:179]It is well known to wise people that the one who does a thing knows more about the wisdom behind it than anyone else and for Allaah is the highest description (cf. al-Nahl 16:60); He is the One Who has created mankind and He knows best the wisdom behind the creation of mankind. No one would dispute this with regard to worldly matters. All people are certain that their physical faculties have been created for a reason. The eye is for seeing, the ear is for hearing, and so on. Does it make sense for his physical faculties to have been created for a reason but for himself to have been created in vain? Or does he not agree to respond to the One Who created him when He tells him of the reason behind his creation?Allaah has told us that the creation of the heavens and the earth, and of life and death, is for the purpose of testing, so as to test man. Whoever obeys Him, He will reward him, and whoever disobeys Him, He will punish him. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):“And He it is Who has created the heavens and the earth in six Days and His Throne was on the water, that He might try you, which of you is the best in deeds. But if you were to say to them: “You shall indeed be raised up after death,” those who disbelieve would be sure to say, “This is nothing but obvious magic”[Hood 11:7]“Who has created death and life that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the AllMighty, the OftForgiving”[al-Mulk 67:2]From this test results a manifestation of the names and attributes of Allaah, such as Allaah’s names al-Rahmaan (the Most Gracious), al-Ghafoor (the Oft Forgiving), al-Hakeem (the Most Wise), al-Tawwaab (the Accepter of Repentance), al-Raheem (the Most Merciful), and other names of Allaah. One of the greatest reasons for which Allaah has created mankind – which is one of the greatest tests – is the command to affirm His Oneness (Tawheed) and to worship Him alone with no partner or associate. Allaah has stated this reason for the creation of mankind, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):“And I (Allaah) created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)”[al-Dhaariyaat 51:56]Ibn Katheer (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:i.e., I have created them so that I may command them to worship Me, not because I have any need of them. ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah said, narrating from Ibn ‘Abbaas: “except that they should worship Me (alone)” willingly or unwillingly. This is the view favoured by Ibn Jareer. Ibn Jurayj said: i.e., except that they should know Me. Al-Rabee’ ibn Anas said: “Except that they should worship Me”, i.e., for the purpose of worship. End quote.Tafseer Ibn Katheer, 4/239Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahmaan al-Sa’di (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:Allaah, may He be exalted, created mankind to worship Him and to know Him by His names and attributes, and to enjoin that upon them. Whoever submits to Him and does what is enjoined upon him will be one of those who are successful, but whoever turns away from that, they are the losers. He will inevitably gather them together in the Hereafter where He will reward or punish them for what He commanded and forbade them to do. Hence Allaah mentions how the mushrikeen (polytheists) denied the reward or punishment, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):“But if you were to say to them: ‘You shall indeed be raised up after death,’ those who disbelieve would be sure to say, ‘This is nothing but obvious magic’”[Hood 11:7]i.e., if you were to speak to these people and tell them about the Resurrection after death, they would not believe you, rather they would reject your words vehemently and deny the message you brought, and they would say, ‘This is nothing but obvious magic,’ but in fact it is obvious truth. End quote.Tafseer al-Sa’di, p. 333What is the point of this life? The Koran point of view on life goal considers mundane life as a primary life. It is the lowest phase of life. From Koranic standpoint worldly life cannot be the whole point for mankind. The Koran for people who set the goal of life simply in this world says:اعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ وَزِينَةٌ وَتَفَاخُرٌ بَيْنَكُمْ وَتَكَاثُرٌ فِي الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَوْلَادِ كَمَثَلِ غَيْثٍ أَعْجَبَ الْكُفَّارَ نَبَاتُهُ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَاهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَكُونُ حُطَامًا وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِّنَ اللَّـهِ وَرِضْوَانٌ وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِKnow that the life of this world is mere diversion and play, glamour and mutual vainglory among you and rivalry for wealth and children—like rain, whose growth impresses the farmer. Then it withers and you see it turn yellow, then it becomes chaff. Whereas in the Hereafter there is forgiveness from Allah and His approval and a severe punishment. The life of this world is nothing but the wares of delusion. ( chapter 57 verse 20 )The Koran expresses the final purpose of life in this world is reaching goodly life. For achieving it man needs two things: faith and good deeds. And give good news to those who have faith and do righteous deeds, that for them shall be gardens with streams running in them: whenever they are provided with their fruit for nourishment, they will say, ‘This is what we were provided before,’ and they were given something resembling it. There will be chaste mates for them, and they will remain therein [forever]. Whoever acts righteously, [whether] male or female, should he be faithful, We shall revive him with a good life and pay them their reward by the best of what they used to do.( chapter 16 , verse 97 )know that the same Lord that Christians worship is the same God of the Jews, Muslims….Moses was God’s messenger…Jesus Christ was God’s messenger…Mohammed was God’s messenger. If Christians says that all religions should go to hell tell them everyone will be questioned and what they used differ , If you then Christian And associated partner with with the lord Then hell is your destination where you will be abide eternally also go to hell as well because they are disrespecting their Lord’s Servants ((Jews, Muslims)) and God doesn’t like it when his Servants disrespects his other servants .God is called by different names in other Books Torah And Gospel , maybe that is why all Christians think that we don’t have the same lord. In Jewish religion, God is refereed to the real Hebrew name” HaShem”. In Islam, God is refereed to the real Arabic name “”Allah””. Anyone saying “insults HaShem!!”” or “”Insults Allah!!”” they are also cursing out their own Lord the unseen (One )as well.English Gospel Arabic InjeelEnglish Lord Arabic AllahSo what is your excuse. So Good luck .No race, no people, no religion, no sect, no creed, no nationality has been given exclusive rights to paradise by Allah in the Quran. Allah's formula for paradise is very very simple…one who worships his creator, the one god alone associating no gods with him, submits his will to the will of Allah and is god fearing will deserve Allah's mercy on the day of judgement. Allah will not forgive all the jews simply because they are the descendants of most of the prophets, Allah will not forgive all the christians simply because they love and follow jesus and Allah will not forgive all the muslims simply because they claim to be the followers of the last messenger mohammad (saws)…for Allah all human beings are equal, all are his created slaves except the one who is god fearing...he is the one most honorable to Allah.Holy Quran: Chapter 49 Surah Hujurat verse 13:O mankind, We created you from one man and one woman, and then divided you into nations and tribes so that you may recognize one another. Indeed, the most honorable amongst you in the sight of Allah is he who is most pious (God Fearing) of you. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.So please note very carefully that Allah will not forgive one because of any religion or race but rather because of his knowledge and recognition of his creator and his good deeds according to the guidance of his creator thus if a person is born into a hindu family or a christian family or a muslim family or any family for that matter he has to search for the truth himself. The Prophet (saws) said in one of his traditions: A baby, when he is born, is born on "fitrah"(on his natural religion), but his parents make him into a Jew, or a Christian. There are many things which are natural (fitrah) of human beings…when they are born there is absolutely no need of coaching or teaching the newborn baby to suck from his/her mother's breasts…this is absolutely natural however much science might have advanced and however much technology may have come up with teaching methods and aids tell me how are you going to teach a new born baby to suck life giving milk from his/her mother's breasts…just imagine for a moment if the baby for any reason is not able to do this natural thing he will probably die of starvation!!!!Similarly also is the feeling of right and wrong in our hearts which we have learnt to call "conscience",we know deep down in our conscience whether something is right or wrong…stealing, cheating, backbiting, slander, adultery, murder etc. are all considered wrong in any religion and nation while charity, good manners, obedience to parents, building of hospitals, taking care of orphans etc. are all good deeds in any religion and nation. One might argue that these values are taught or acquired but the fact of the matter is that whatever one does he knows deep down in his conscience whether it is right or wrong. So is also the concept of one god…this is a natural phenomena. It does not matter if the person is a staunch atheist at the worst point in his life there comes a time when he calls out to some supernatural being or force to help him although he may claim to be an atheist…this phenomena is in built into the human being by the almighty god and if you ask most religious beliefs who created the heavens and the earth? who grows the vegetation?who created the sun and the moons and the planets and the galaxy? who created human beings and animals? etc. the answer will always be in one way or another ...the one god.... creator of the universe and everything in it. We can call all these things by any name we want but the fact is some things are "natural" or "fitrah" of mankind as termed in the Quran. So if a baby born in a hindu family or a jew family or a christian family there will come a time when he attains maturity when he will try to look for a deeper meaning to this life and start asking questions about why are we here on this earth? is it all an accident? are we here to live for 80-100 years and then die and be burnt or be buried? and thats it!! or is there anything else after this worldly life? is there a creator who created this fantastic world and everything in it? then comes in the natural thought of a "super natural" being or "god". These answers the human being cannot get from experience and thus he is prone towards a belief or religion…according to islam Allah not only created man for a purpose but sent prophets to guide them and sent books and laws to guide mankind unto salvation…it is also to be kept in mind that there are only three divine religions in the world today in the true sense of the word: judaism, christianity and islam… all the others are either movements or mythology,if the man cannot find answers that apply to his reason and intellect in his born religion then he begins searching for the truth and invariably he will find it but the problem with the world today is that we have become too shallow in our thoughts and engrossed in luxuries and collecting wealth…we just don’t give due importance to the deeper meanings of life…we use all our intelligence and hard work to live this life but give little thought to the life hereafter…maybe we are confused about so many ideologies, all claiming salvation and give up using logic and reason and just settle for the religion of our forefathers…for everything else in the world we do not do anything without reason. When we wear clothes we check out the fashion, the material, the price and then buy them…when we look for a house we check out the location, the re sale value, the price and then make our decision. When we buy a car we check out the company, the car itself, the value then we make a decision…a child born into parents who were uneducated never says or reasons that since his parents are uneducated he will remain uneducated…he wants to attain the best education possible within his means and outdo his parents in this world similarly if a father had one store he owned and ran all his life a child never claims that I will not open a chain of stores because my father had just one store also the son of a street cleaner never claims that he will grow up to be a street cleaner simply because his father was a streetcleaner then why does a child born into any religion just take up the religion of his parent's choice…the reason is that when it comes to following religion most of us just keep our reasoning at home and blindly follow the religion we are born into even though we may not get all the answers to our deeper questions we just let them be in a corner of our brain and not "rock the boat" so to speak. We just live this life like animals eat, sleep, re produce and die…our creator has given us the faculty to think and reason but man seldom uses it to search the truth…if he truly does search for the truth he will find peace and happiness in islam as millions of converts and true muslims are living in today.Islam is a natural religion and everything is based on logic..there is nothing illogical about islam and everything in islam is based on wisdom and common sense. The one god who created the heavens and the earth and everything in between created man for a reason…he made no mistake in the creation of the heavens and the earth, he made no mistake in the creation of the sun, its temperature and its distance for if the sun was closer to earth by a small distance we would all die of heat and if the sun was at a little more distance than it is we would die of cold…he made no mistake in the creation of the moon…science tells us that the movement of the moon controls the tides of the seas, if the moon moves a couple of degrees away from its course we would all be submerged in water. He made no mistake in the creation of man…his eyes are perfectly placed, his nose is perfectly placed just above his mouth, his ears and mouth and hands and legs are perfectly placed, his internal systems are perfectly placed and function to perfection for the appointed time. Look at everything else in creation how perfect it is then how can we imagine that this creator who created everything to perfection can make a mistake in guiding mankind unto him…in his perfect knowledge and wisdom he made mankind and sent him to this earth. and to guide him he sent his messengers and his books...did he make a mistake here? i think not!One more thing to note here is a human is not as free as onewould like to think…he has to breathe to survive..(no choice here),he has to eat at some intervals (no choice here),he has to eat either vegetation or animals (cant eat rocks, stones, etc. no choice here),he has to relieve himself at some interval (no choice here), he has to rest at some intervals (no choice here),his eyes, his nose, his ears, his mouth, his hands, his legs, his organs are places in their places (no choice here), he has to drink water at intervals to quench his thirst (no choice here) etc. He has absolutely no choice in most matters…the only choice that the all wise god gave us was to choose the path that leads to his mercy and this choice is only for a limited period of maximum 50-80-100 years…think about it that is actually the only choice we have and that too he has commanded and directed us to submit our only will to him and live our lives according to his will and that is the only thing we are being tested upon…who lives his life in obedience to his wills and commands and who lives his life according to his own whims and fancies and thus a life of disobedience to god’s commands. The one who lives his life in obedience to god will be rewarded in the hereafter and the one who lives his life independently of god, will fail the test and thus incurred god’s wrath and anger upon himself. One thing also we must understand of the almighty and all wise is that he is also all just…all beings are his slaves…they are all equal...he favours no one over another except the one who is more pious…do you think he will be unjust to his slaves? do you think he will have mercy on somebody simply because he is related to his prophets? do you think he will have mercy on somebody simply because he wailed and beat himself in love of a martyr? no never....he is the all just…he will judge everybody according to the syllabus he has sent down…whoever follows the syllabus and recognizes it as such and is god fearing that is the one his mercy is promised upon thus our job as muslims today is to invite mankind to islam and the last book of Allah the Quran…first and foremost we must live by it and then invite mankind to it…if they believe in it and do according to the syllabus fine they become our brothers in islam… if not they are allowed to follow any religion they want to attain salvation as long as they are convinced that they will stand in the court of the almighty one day and give account for their beliefs and deeds on this earth.Secondly :Polytheist pagans (i.e., Hindus) can't go to Paradise (Jannah). You can, however, find justification (Q2:62 and 5:69) for the assertion that People of the Book (Jews And Christians and 'Sabians') can go to Paradise. But, alas, the Quran often speaks out of both sides of its mouth. The Quran also makes it quite clear that only Muslims go to Paradise:Allah did aforetime take a covenant from the Children of Israel, and we appointed twelve captains among them. And Allah said: "I am with you: if ye (but) establish regular prayers, practice regular charity, believe in my messengers, honor and assist them, and loan to Allah a beautiful loan, verily I will wipe out from you your evils, and admit you to gardens with rivers flowing beneath; but if any of you, after this, resisteth faith, he hath truly wandered from the path or rectitude."— Qur'an, surat 5 (al-Mā’idah) ayah 12Note the bolded phrase: 'believe in my messengers'. Well, guess what? The only ones who believe in all of Allah's messengers are MUSLIMS. Jews and Christians don't believe in Allah's last messenger: Muhammad. The Quran is (allegedly) 100% revelations from Allah and proclaims itself to be clear and perfect: inerrant and inviolable. Yet's it's so full of contradictions that Allah had to provide the revelation of abrogation (naskh). Here's it is (ayah 2:106):We do not abrogate a verse or cause it to be forgotten except that We bring forth [one] better than it or similar to it. Do you not know that Allah is over all things competent? The contradictions concerning who goes to heaven is just the tip of the iceberg. It is self-evident that there would be no need for naskh (abrogation) if not for the contradictions in the Quran. The contradictions and naskh render the Quran as pliable as you want it to be. But, truth be told, naskh completely abrogates the more peaceful and tolerant Meccan revelations with the more aggressive and militant Medinan revelations. If you want to be a stickler for the absolute truth of revelations, then you have no choice but to go with the latest, less tolerant, revelations whenever earlier ones are abrogated. Now . . . you tell me . . . are two revelations, suggesting People of the Book can go to Paradise, more persuasive than all the other revelations that suggest otherwise? And polytheist pagans? They're not allowed. The following ayah plainly states that non-Muslims (including People of the Book, pagans, or whatever) are excluded from the “Hereafter”:And whoever desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers. (Al-Qur'an — 3:85)Allah Revealed the Book Called [ Torah- Genesis ] To Jews by Prophet MossesAllah revealed the Book Called [Injeel-Gospel ] Toas a reminder of Torah Jews and Christian by prophet JesusAllah revealed the book Called [ Zabuur-Psalm ] ToSabeans by prophet DavidAllah revealed the book Called [Qur-an ] ToAll Humanity by Prophet Mohamed PBUH.And my Lord and Your Lord ( Allah).Knows The best.
