There is a huge difference in reporting and filing a grade appeal form. The grade appeal forces the administration to investigate several things, starting with a syllabus given to you by the teacher. They will look to determine what percentage each aspect of the course is used to determine grades, say 15% is exams, 15% is participation, etc. If the percentages are weighted so far that it makes you fail based on one criteria, or those percentages violate either district, county, or state guidelines, the assignments turned in will have to be readjusted to the proper percentages.The next thing to review will be your work. If the course was on-line, say in Google Classroom, all the work submitted will be visible. However, you still run into subjectivity of grading issues, which is where the system generally errs on the side of the teacher, not the student. The one judging, who has expert experience will usually win in that case.So, file an official grade appeal and get ready to defend your position. You need some evidence to back your claim of the unfair grading, so have that ready before you file. there is a time limit as to when you can appeal, so check that first though. Good luck!

Clever? How about effective. Start with the prof. Ask if he/she will change it. Explain why you think you deserve a higher grade. Bring in your evidence. Yo u don’t get a better grade because you want one. You get a better grade because the prof recorded assignment and/or test grades incorrectly OR the prof averaged those grades incorrectly. There is also a probability that the prof did not follow the grading system he told you he would follow. Bring in his rubric for course grades and show how he did it wrong for you. Be sure to speak nicely and not nastily or accusatorily. If you have gotten no whee with the prof, you can go to the department chair. Same process. If that gets you nowhere you can go to the dean. By now someone along the way will ask you to complete a formal grade appeal form and get on the actual appeal train. Th process varies from school to school. It is unlikely you will get the grade raised if you have gotten this far with no success. I say this because th eprof has your evidence, the dept chair hs you evidence and now the dean does too. If they all agree you should get the grade the prof gave you, it is unlikely any other committee will give you a different answer. Not impossible, just highly unlikely.

The U.S. is not terribly unusual in this respect, though many Americans, comfortably Caucasian ones in particular, seem perpetually blind to the lingering implications.A superpower which has for the better part of a century now exercised military, economic, and cultural hegemony on an unprecedented global scale. This is important to understand, because it must form the basis of any intelligent assessment of how the U.S. is viewed abroad.A diverse and pluralistic society, but one in which people still behave like people: neither institutionalized ingrouping, nor confirmation bias, nor batshit-insane greed are precluded by the national ideals; a golden barrel doesn’t prevent the apples inside from going bad.Most relevant of all is where the U.S. is headed. It’s incredibly difficult to get clean and honest dialogue without frankness about future prospects, and when we manage to get down to brass tacks in that regard, the sudden clarity is quite illuminating: in general, people who are comfortable don’t want that comfort to be challenged, and people who are uncomfortable want some resolution.Many of the bigger problems Americans now face are in large measure reducible to a conflict between today’s comfort and tomorrow’s potential catastrophe, because it turns out that people are much better at devising long-range plans than enacting them, and Americans like to think of one more Big Mac right before bed or one more drink before climbing behind the wheel as the exercise of freedom rather than immaturity.In fact, I think that’s a decent summary of the national character, to the extent that we have one at all.
