You mention Northeastern, Tulane, and Ohio State. Have you registered here University & College Search Tool and used that Free tool to compare colleges and also to find colleges of interest to You.Using that tool to compare those three colleges that you note, it seems that you have a good chance. But, work with your Guidance Counselor. She/he can write an Excellent cover letter that will accompany your official transcript, and that could make a Huge difference in your application.All the best.

I’m just answering this to give a more normal perspective (I.e. I keep reading all of these and feel simultaneously awed and grateful that I managed to get in anywhere with my stats.)I’m a biracial (Black/ White) senior at the Paideia School, a private high school in Atlanta. It’s a rather well known school to colleges apparently, and there’s usually a letter emailed to colleges to explain our academic rigor level and grading system. We don’t give weight to honor or AP classes, so it’s all unweighted.GPA: 3.73 UWSAT: 1360 (and the essay score was not too good, I forgot the score) 680 in Reading/English, 680 in Math.Essay: I wrote about a hobby that you would never know about (I’m a hardcore aquarist) and some life lessons it has taught me.Sports:Jv soccer 2 yearsVarsity track and field 2 yearsExtracurriculars:Art: I draw, sketch, and paint, so my old art classes most likely helped some of my portfolios.UNICEF: I’m a pretty active Unicef Youth Board Member, and a leader of the club at my school.Piano: I’m not too good at playing the piano, but it helped me with….Cross-age Teaching: I helped teach younger kids the basics of music theory.Major: I’m planning to major in architectureSchools:University of Florida: (Accepted) I wasn’t surprised I got in, but knew it was only a backup plan. School’s too big to really be my fit.Georgia State University: (Accepted) Another backup plan, don’t really know why I considered it now, as they don’t even have my major.Tulane University of Louisiana: (Accepted!) I did EA, and did my application the day it was due (NOLA was always a reach, don’t have much family there) but it was a good school and free to apply, so why not? I was really surprised I got in, and it moved up considerably on my list.Howard University: (Accepted) I actually really wanted to go to Howard last year, and I felt I could really fit in there both socially and academically. So getting in got me really excited, but I was given much better scholarship offers later. I’m glad I took those instead, because I learned more about Howard’s problems, and I probably would have transferred anyway.University of Georgia:(Rejected) This one caught me off guard; I was under the impression it wouldn’t be too hard to get in, and would be a nice safety school in case I did not have any other options. I wouldn’t have considered it much anyways, but still, it broke my acceptance streak :(Georgia Tech: (Accepted!!!) After getting rejected from UGA, I thought Tech was even less likely to accept me. I was waitlisted for EA, but the second time sent my architecture portfolio and updated my grades, and got in once RD came out. It shocked me for a moment, as I had always talked about going to Tech when I was younger. Not because I knew whether or not it was a fit, but moreso because everyone smart went there. Thag said, it is an amazing school. So, my choice dwindled down to Tech and….University of Miami (Accepted!!!!!!!!) On paper, this school seemed to be the best for me (campus, weather, proximity to water in case I wanted to try marine science, diversity in race and culture, a new city, great architecture program, etc.) so I had to apply. I was therefore delighted I got in, and even more so when they covered my tuition. I went to visit in February( SO LUCKY, right before the pandemic here in the US) and decided that this would be my school. Cane ‘24!Rice University: (Rejected) This was a real reach, even if somehow I got in, so it wasn’t too bad that I got rejected.

If you don’t get an interview with one of those, then start to worry. But don’t worry too much, If you are a qualified candidate, you may just not fit the profile that those specific schools have. Medical school is hard to get into.This is a job interview, so it is best if you are prepared to do well. This means knowing the school; presenting with passion, intelligence and genuineness and knowing what you want. They will ask you why their school is a good fit for you and vice versa. You will be questioned about a lot of things in order to see how you react. They want people who are emotionally committed to practicing medicine even though most applicants don’t have a clue about what being a doctor really is - if you have the passion, they will turn you into a doctor.Getting the interview is out of your hands. You have spent the years studying, you have filled out the applications, gotten recommendations and have presented your best side. Now it is up to someone else to do the rest, until the interview comes up. Then it is your turn to show them why you would be a good fit for that school.
