At first glance, it's clear that the Common App website has separate places for applicants and recommenders to log in. Applicants identify their recommenders as part of their applications. Those recommenders create their own password-protected accounts from which to submit confidential letters of reference.The Common App system therefore does *not* want applicants to input letters themselves.Even if you (the OP) are a completely honest person who would not tamper with the letters, the Common App system and the colleges have no way of knowing this.You should follow the rules and have your recommenders submit their own letters directly. If you do otherwise and if this is discovered, colleges will likely conclude that you have done this for dishonest purposes and refuse to admit you (or cancel your admission).If your recommenders cannot or will not submit the letters in the ordinary way, you should contact the Common App via their website and ask them how to proceed.

This has been one of the most asked questions by people linked to JEE preparation and each year several theories begin to circulate regarding the nature of question paper as the date of one of the most coveted exams in India approaches.Very few people know about the internal procedure involved in preparation of so-called the toughest papers of JEE but still some of the information regarding the paper setting is known to the general public.While answering this question, I am already assumming that we are talking about JEE Advanced papers.While I was a student at Resonance,Kota ,once we had a very interesting session by our HoD Chemistry, Shishir Mittal (IIT B Graduate, Chemical Engineering) regarding how JEE papers are preapred. Actually, he just loved to talk about various topics apart from regular JEE stuff and on that day, he was just in a mood to talk. And one just can’t afford to miss those awesome sessions when he was in a mood to talk.The session commenced with the year 1997 which proved to be a black year for IIT JEE as papers of so called IIT JEE were leaked and authorities had to settle for a re-exam. At that time, several questions were raised regarding the procedure involved in paper setting. Literally, the credibility of IITs was at stake. Our teacher, who was at that time the editor of the college magazine at IIT B too got something awesome to explore. The entire team decided to investigate the issues related and when they went to the Dean, IIT B , they were strictly warned. As our teacher told the conversation between them went a bit like this:(let’s denote our teacher as SM sir as we usually called him at Kota)SM sir: Sir, we are trying to write an article on JEE paper leak and we need some help from your part.Dean: So what are you trying to convey through your article?SM sir: Sir, we needed some inputs regarding the procedure involved in preparation of JEE papers..Dean: Have you literally lost your mind!!!! Our credibility is already at stake after the whole episode and you want us to release the internal procedure involved ..SM sir: Sir, as a student of this reputed institution, I too understand the intricacies involved in this whole scenario but can’t we selectively some part of the entire procedure involved so that we could regain the trust people had in our system??Dean: Ok, I may allow you but only one one condition. Before you publish the content, It should be at my desk for my approval. Also, the people involved in the entire content research team should be highly credible and are expected to maintain complete secrecy.If I see you violating this condition and I will make sure that you have sufficient pain in getting passed out of IIT B..SM sir: Thanks sir. We will make sure that all your conditions are fulfilled.Now, after this, the real discussion begun. The procedure is roughly as follows:Selection of the IIT which will organize the JEE for the current year: Any of the seven old IITs is given the task of organizing the exam. For 2015, it was IIT Bombay; for 2016 , it was IIT Guwahati and for 2017, IIT Madras will be conducting the exam.Selection of the governing council: A committee is formed usually headed by a professor of the organizing IIT and is comprised of representatives of other IITs.Selection of the professors who will set the question paper: The council usually selects a group of professors from various IITs to set the paper. They are asked to send one or more questions from a particular topic. Usually, the entire pattern and marking scheme of the paper is already generated in a computer. Professors usually pick a question from the question bank of that particular topic which is already generated and is consistently updated from time to time. Very few people have access to that question bank.Usually three papers are prepared: After the professors involved have sent their respective questions, three papers are prepared by randomly selecting questions. Now, people say that a computer randomly selects questions from a large collection of questions sent by professors. Ultimate secrecy is maintained in the entire procedure.Finally the paper is prepared: Now, it is usually the governing council which selects the final paper by conducting a general consensus. But, this might not also be true. Some people say that, a computer randomly programmed selects the final paper and no one is literally aware of the final paper. This part of the procedure is debatable and confidential.Printing of question paper: Here comes a mind blowing fact. The people working in the printing press of IITs are illiterate people. Now, consider the awesomeness. The sole criteria which should be fulfilled by a person to be able to work in printing press where the papers of so-called IIT JEE are printed is to be illiterate. People usually assume that papers are printed in the press of the organizing IIT,But, actually any of the seven IITs is given the task of printing the paper.This is the roughly the procedure involved. Now, it’s not difficult to see that the process is highly confidential and IITs make significant efforts to make sure that exam is conducted in a fair and smooth manner. And why shouldn’t it be.. It’s the same paper which will decide the fate of millions of students who are attempting JEE..Note: My answer is mainly based on what our teacher told us in that discussion and it is possible that I might have missed some facts and some parts of procedure are still debatable. Moreover, there might be some changes in the procedure from time to time which I am not aware of. Hope this answer might provide you some insight into the procedure involved in preparation of JEE papers.

Classes need to be balanced in so many ways to achieve the best possible classroom community for all involved. This includes input from the teachers who taught these students the previous year, as well as administration, who may be privy to confidential information which the teacher doesn’t have. There may be some instances when a teacher makes a request, but, in my experience, that is very rare.
