What is your review of the 2017 film Dunkirk?

Christopher Nolan is a genius and his filmography is the proof. With the greatest superhero film ever made to the mind bending science fiction dramas, he proved to be the modern era’s greatest. While the internet is full of Nolan worshippers but he never really won the hearts of hardcore critics or the nod of the Academy. There are people who feel his films are all about brains. People may or may not agree on that point. But Dunkirk is a film which will make the hardest of the critics rave for it. Lets get into a spoiler free review of it.The evacuation at Dunkirk, most popularly known as the Miracle of Dunkirk that happened during the Second World War in 1940. In aid of the Belgium and French troops, British sent hundreds of thousands of soldiers to France to prevent the Germans from occupying the French. But the tables turn around when the German troops close in on the French and the English soldiers that they have to wait at the coastline of France, on the beaches of Dunkirk, waiting for a miracle to take them home. To make things worse, the Germans fighter planes are sinking the rescue ships and attacking the soldiers stranded on the beaches while the numerically less number of British fighter planes called Spitfires are fighting back. So the British government under the leadership of Winston Churchill, send civilian boats to Dunkirk to rescue the British and French soldiers. The Operation Dynamo (the code name for the evacuation of Dunkirk) aimed at rescuing 30,000 soldiers end up rescuing nearly 340,000 men. The greatest psychological victory for UK in the War. This is all the backstory of Dunkirk.I watched the film in IMAX format & in DOLBY ATMOS sound. To me, it is the greatest movie experience I ever had. The grandest canvas of the film will make you stay glued to the screen and the thumping sound designing will make your heart pound. You feel like you are at the beach, on the sea and in the spitfire. The cinematography is so good that you can never spot a shot that looks like CGI. I wonder if they used any CGI in the film?! Every shot is so realistic and grand. Next strongest aspect is the sound editing and sound designing complimented greatly by the score of Hans Zimmer. The production design is so good that you feel like you’re in the World War II era. The acting is spot on with fewer dialogues along the film. The reactions of Kenneth Branagh & Mark Rylance to various situations tells a great deal of story than any lengthy dialogue scene. Fionn, Harry, Hardy, Cillian are also good at expresing various emotions, mostly fear. Finally, CHRISTOPHER NOLAN.A man who never had a downward trajectory in his career. The way he dealt with a war film in his own style is his grandest victory. We’ll look at war like we have never seen before. The way he used cinematography & sound to convey a gritting story is a genius move. His non-linear screenplay, the way he never introduced any character, no bloodshed policy, usage of camera, shooting in real locations, shooting it in IMAX 70mm format, every thing just shows his passion. How great the film may be, it cannot satisfy every class of audience. The three things that few people are pointing out to be the setbacks of Dunkirk are actually biggest plus points of the film according in my opinion. It is just the way Nolan want to tell the story. The Character BackstoryThe film directly opens up with the street firing and escalates quickly to the Dunkirk beach without giving much information about the events that cornered them. There have been many war films like Apocalypse Now, Thin Red Line, Bridge on River Kwai, Full Metal Jacket, Saving Private Ryan and most recently Hacksaw Ridge, which got a big nod from the movie-goers. But in each of these movies there has always been a template. All of them dealt with the emotional journey of one or more characters. We knew their story like where they came from, is there a mother or wife waiting for them at home, etc. But this is Nolan! So, he obviously deviated from the template and focused more on the atrocity of the war rather than the backstory of the character. Just give yourself a thought, when you’re in the midst of a war, on the edge of defeat & obvious death, shell-shocked by the continuous attacks, would you really care about the person next to you. That is the stand Nolan took in Dunkirk. He never introduced a single character & hardly anyone’s names were mentioned. Seriously, I never wanted these soldiers to sit around the campfire and talk about how much they were missing home & what they would do if they get back home. I don’t care about it. All I care about is how they will reach home.2. The BloodshedThere is not a drop of blood spilled in the entire film and surely that came as a shocker. When you are dealing with World War and refuse to take violence as your central theme, that in itself is another bravest move. The movie is more about survival than bloodshed. There is not a scene where limbs fly off or blood spurting. After watching masterpieces like Saving Private Ryan & Apocalypse Now, when someone said I’m gonna make a War film without violence, I would have disagreed. But if that one is Christopher Nolan then bow before the master & enjoy the movie experience. Dunkirk delivered on that note. It proved that it is possible to make a war film without the film being R-rated. It is more of a thriller than a war drama.3. The non-linearityChris Nolan is known for the non-linear narration of his stories. It is difficult to be a Nolan fan in that aspect. You need to watch every bit of it with attention. From the reverse narration in Memento, he started playing with time in his own fashion by which he produced the biggest mind benders of cinema like Memento, Prestige, Inception & Interstellar. That became a mark of his style of film making. I never thought it would be possible to slip non-linearity into this story. But he surprised me! For half an hour I didn’t quite understand what the hell was going on. When you finally get it, you will know why they call him a genius and why people worship his work. The movie is told in three parallel stories. First happening on The Mole, one week before the evacuation. It has shown the struggles of young soldiers(played by Fionn Whitehead & Harry Styles) who are stranded on the beaches and waiting to get home. Second happening on The Sea, one day before the evacuation. The civilian boat captain(played by Mark Rylance) along with his son & an young boy, who is heading towards Dunkirk to save the British soldiers. Third happening in The Air, one hour before evacuation. The spitfire pilot(played by Tom Hardy) fighting in the air with German fighter planes during evacuation. Few scenes are shown several times from separate POVs and all that sums up to the thrilling finale. I did not think the editing is messy. I think that is how Nolan wants to show the film. Why always follow the same template? And the editing signifies the chaos of the situation they are in. The climax gives you an utmost satisfaction after that edge of the seat finale. This is arguably an addition to his greatest movies: The Dark Knight, Inception and Interstellar. It may give Nolan the honour to hold on the Oscar this time. This film is the greatest film of the year so far and a toughest contender for the Academy awards. It has the potential to bag the technical awards like Cinematography, Production Design, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing and Film Editing. It can also win the Best Film and Best Director awards.. the time will decide. If you want to watch this film, watch it in the biggest screen possible. You will have one hell of an experience. Waiting around to watch it on your laptop is such a waste.Final word: “MASTERPIECE”

Will it help Manchester United if they sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?

To be honest no.. but having said that Mourinho was spot on with his demandsOn Hindsight, Mourinho was spot on when he said that finishing second with United was his greatest achievement, some of us may have laughed but the fact remains that has been our best finish as of now.. If I have to make a gist of things which Mourinho was right then1. Finishing second : remember we were 19 points behind city when we finished that and that squad had a similar situation, a misfiring Lukaku, Pogba who plays according to which side of bed he gets up, Sanchez who joined midway unlike Ole he didnt even have the luxury of good CB's2. Pogba May be a virus : I personally feel Mourinho was spot on about it there is something wrong with Pogba and this is not football aspect, god knows what is his issue. “You don’t respect players and supporters. And you kill the mentality of the good honest people around you,” Mourinho is reported to have told Pogba after a draw at Southampton last year. “You are like a person with a flu, with a virus in a closed room – you pass that virus to the others.” The problems at United had split supporters and pundits into two separate factions: Jose vs Pogba. Shortly after, it was Pogba who claimed victory, and his sudden-but-fleeting upturn in form upon Mourinho’s sacking gave ammunition to those who believed the manager was the problem.3. Scott Mctominay : He isnt a scholes or Keane or Robson but he is the perfect template for his team mates as he keeps trying and not giving up. Remember Mourinho even created a special award for him Indeed, in his attempt to paint himself as the anti-Jose, Solskjaer used McTominay for a single minute in his first eight Premier League matches in charge.4. Andreas is special but not good enough : Solskjaer came in and having failed to convince Louis van Gaal or Mourinho, he was given a third opportunity. The current boss certainly appears to fancy the Belgium-born Brazilian more than the previous two managers – God only knows why. Pereira is a player without a position; he looks out of his depth wherever he is played. Fred may be the current poster boy for United’s slide but Pereira is equally as inept, as Mourinho quickly learned once he had the chance to see for himself.5. Marcus Rashford isnt a Striker or cente forward: When Mourinho signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku in each of his first two summers in charge at Old Trafford, the worry for many was what their arrival meant for Rashford’s prospects. Their concerns were misplaced.Rashford ended up making more appearances under Mourinho than any other Manchester United player and played the fourth-highest number of minutes. The problem for some was that Rashford spent most of his time on the pitch shunted out wide.t seems Mourinho was right. Solskjaer immediately placed his faith in Rashford as his leading centre-forward – to Lukaku’s cost – but after an initial burst, the England attacker’s productivity has waned, as has his involvement in matches. Harry Maguire had more touches in the Newcastle box than Rashford – or any other United team-mate – on Sunday. Rashford looks so far off the pace as a leading striker that many people are assuming he is carrying an injury, despite Solskjaer’s insistence that he is 100 per cent fit.The penny also appeared to have dropped with Solskjaer, who started the season with Martial as his starting centre-forward, with Rashford wide. But with Martial sidelined, Solskjaer has little option to persist with Rashford through the middle.Inputs from : football 365

What is the best social media advertising marketing agency?

My agency is the best :DJokes aside. It really depends on what kind of person you are and what kind of agency you want. There agencies out there that will take any client as long as he pays. You can tell them the entire strategy, even if you pay them to come up with the strategy. They will say “yes” to every change you propose without questioning anything. Then you have those very arrogant agencies. They don’t really take on every client. They won a few awards and they know what is best for you. Obviously they don’t, they will follow their template to create a campaign. Usually you will be able to tell based on the content which agency is behind that particular campaign. It is the same with directors. You can spot a David Fincher movie immediately. Same goes for agencies, some have a very distinct style, doesn’t mean it is good for you.The last type of agencies are the collaborators. They might not sign up every client, but they will work with you together. Their main goal is to understand you and your brand, find out your problem and trying to solve it in the best possible way, while staying on brand. Those are the ones that would speak up if they don’t like your ideas. Those are the agencies that care about performance, not you feelings or awards.
