Did Chris Paul ever play for the Bucks?

No he hasn’t.Chris Paul played for the New Orleans Hornets from 2005 to 2011, the Los Angeles Clippers from 2011 to 2017, he was in Houston for 2 years before landing in Oklahoma City via a Russell Westbrook trade along with a handful of draft picks. Never has he played in Milwaukee.I understand your curiosity given the fact that Chris Paul trade rumours are starting to fire up - one of those destinations being Milwaukee. Now as a Thunder fan, I wish Paul were to stay, though his contract is chewing up a ton of the Thunder’s finances, so offloading him could be a viable option.Chris Paul has even explicitly stated that he wishes to play alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo. I understand that. Who wouldn’t want to play with a genetically gifted, athletically versatile 6 foot 11 Greek superstar who’s taken the league by storm? Paul’s experience could help Giannis and the Bucks greatly. They’ll also have another guard with a viable outside shot and along with Matthew Delevadova, could help become a key facilitator for their offence. The problem will be Eric Bledsoe. The Bucks could still have him on their roster and he could become a good player off the bench or he could slot in at shooting guard. That may work well in some people’s eyes, but he would cause salary cap concerns and if he slots in at shooting guard, the 6 foot 1 point guard would be up against 6 foot 5/6 foot 6 shooting guards. Not a good position for Milwaukee.Eric Bledsoe just signed a 4 year contract with the Bucks last March. If the Milwaukee Bucks want to cash in on a veteran Chris Paul, who’s yet to reach the midst of his decline, they’ll need to trade Bledsoe. Giannis Antetokounmpo with Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez, and Chris Paul? Looks like a contending team for me? It would be interesting to see how Chris Paul would do in Wisconsin, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

What are the differences between a currency and a commodity?

Shorter Newer Answer: The traditional definition of a currency is that it is a medium of exchange and a store of value. The traditional definition of a commodity is that it is a nearly-perfectly fungible good. A commodity could be used as a currency if it is convenient to do so. Likewise, a currency can become a commodity under certain conditions.Under what conditions can a currency become a commodity? Sepp Hasslberger suggests that ideally a currency would have static value. In reality, no well functioning economic system is ever static. Ergo:If the value of the currency is slowly depreciating (inflation), people do want to use the currency as a method of exchange. If today, $1 will buy 2 loaves of bread, and tomorrow, $1 will only buy one loaf of bread, you will rush out to get bread today. If the value of the currency is slowly appreciating (deflation), people prefer not to use that currency as a method of exchange. If today, $1 will buy you 1 loaf of bread, and tomorrow, $1 will buy you 2 loaves of bread, you will just wait until tomorrow to get 2 loaves of bread. But then tomorrow you decide to wait until the next day when you can buy 3 loaves of bread with $1. And so on, until you figure out a way to buy bread without sacrificing the growth potential of the $1 bill. Thus an ideal currency has a slowly decreasing value. Those holding the currency could use it as store of value but doing that in the long run would be a bad idea. As the value slowly erodes, currency-holders are motivated to exchange it for other goods or services. If, instead, the currency slowly appreciates in value it takes on the role of a commodity, as people try to take advantage of its store of value qualities and will switch to something else to fulfill their exchange needs.Longer Older Answer: A currency is something that is used as both a medium of exchange and a store of value. A currency may be backed by an official government fiat, which means that government makes it illegal to not accept that currency. Additionally, some governments may have a monopoly on the production and control of the currency. However, neither of these conditions are necessary. In prisons, for example, cigarettes are often a de facto currency without any fiat. Likewise, lots of countries, for example Ecuador, use US dollars as their official currency. Obviously those countries to not have monopoly control over the dollar.A commodity is a good that is exchanged in a standardized quality and quantity using forward contracts. For example, one can buy a Dec11 contract of WTI at the CME. What this means, is that the buyer is agreeing to accept delivery of 1,000 barrels of West Texas Intermediate crude oil on December 31, 2011 in Cushing, Oklahoma. Meanwhile, the seller is agreeing to deliver that oil at the agreed price. WTI is a quality benchmark, an indicates that the crude in question is of the light and sweet variety. One barrel of WTI is as good as another. There are no differentiators in quality within the same commodity class. Thus, everyone who participates knows exactly what they are getting. Most participants in commodity (nowadays) do not expect to accept/make delivery. Instead, they participate in the markets to hedge against future supply demand/shocks and price changes and expect to clear all of their positions before the contract expiration date.Historically, many currencies have been backed by a commodity (gold or silver) or have been a form of a commodity themselves (cigarettes in prison; gold and silver). This is no longer the case with most modern economies. The only thing backing the US dollar or the Euro is the fundamental of the people in the stability of the US government and the European Union. The value of a commodity is determined by market operations and supply and demand. Sellers set and adjust asking prices, while buyers bid. The price of a commodity can fluctuate rather quickly, however, this depends on the liquidity of the market. The value of a currency is determined by interest rates which are, in turn determined by macroeconomic conditions. High interest rates indicate that the value of money is high - thus borrowers have to pay a higher price for access money. The only way that a western Central Bank can affect the value of a currency is through either (1) open market operations or (2) setting the reserve requirements. In the first case, the Central Bank buys or sells government to control the supply of money. In the second case, the Central Bank tells banks how much of their currency reserves they must store and not lend out, which also affects the supply of money. By semi-controlling the money supply the Central Bank impacts the interest rates that the banks charge each other. If the Central Bank estimates demand correctly and does their math right, they target the interest rates so that there is slight inflation- ie the value of money decreases with time. If the value of money increased with time (deflation) then people would hold on to their money and treat it like any other appreciating asset. If the value of money decreases too much with time, then people lose confidence in the currency and stop working and/or buying stuff. In the absence of direct Central Bank controls, the value of the currency is simply determined by consumer confidence, currency availability, ease of use etc.If a certain population has access to several currencies then inflation/deflation is not as much of a problem as people would switch between whatever currency is more convenient or stable. In 1990's Russia almost anyone who could started exchanging and storing all of their money in USD, as it was appreciating in value against the Ruble. Prices were set in US dollar equivalent and most private sector salaries were denominated in US dollar equivalent. It was hard for public sector employees, whose wages did not adjust, or those who did not have access to USD- but most people got used to it. Even in the 2000's, when the Ruble stabilized, most people/business retained this habit, except in Euros. In the Russian scenario the dollar took on the role of a store of value and an investment-grade commodity. Meanwhile, the Ruble remained the method of exchange as wages and prices had to be legally set in Rubles. It is never a "problem" if the price of a commodity goes up or down as it is fundamentally a reflection of the inherent value of the commodity. With the possible exception of gold, most people who trade commodities do so because they need to, either because they extract the commodity and need to sell it or because they make something out of it and need to buy it. Gold is unusual because unlike wheat or oil, all of the world's extracted gold could fit in a large grain silo (~20 cubic meters) and the stock of gold is constant. Thus, it makes economic sense to treat it as an investment. For most commodities, it does not make economic sense to treat them as investments (or currency) - you need a lot of space and/or they spoil. [1] [2] This also makes most commodities a terrible choice as a currency. Gold can be used as a currency but if its value keeps appreciating (deflation) and its supply is finite, most people will end up switching to something else. Which is why we do not use it anymore.[1] Although some people treat wine, land, baseball cards as investments, none of those are perfect commodities though since they are not fungible.[2] Studies have shown that speculators have marginal, if any, effect on commodity prices.

Who killed Osho and why did they kill him?

This answer may contain sensitive images. Click on an image to unblur it.ThanksWe don’t know for sure if anyone killed Osho , but the Rajneeshpuram commune, was essentially a large scale experiment in spiritual communal living , and had successfully transformed a barren desert land, with low grade, overgrazed soil into an oasis , a fully self sustainable agricultural commune , and a city with its own infrastructure , lakes, dam, reservoir , huge meditation hall, A-frame housing , townhouses , mall, disco, restaurants, roads , bus services , airport and room for thousands of people.A-Frame cottages at the RanchQaudruplex A-frameThe residents and workers of the city were all living in comfortable air-conditioned housing , with no money being used, yet everyone had an abundance of food and clothing. This was undoubtedly the largest scale experiment in communal alternative living in modern American history. This was certainly seen as a threat by the Reagan administration.Max Brecher, an investigative journalist who did a lot of research and interviews for his book “A Passage to America”, found that there was serious concerns right at the top of the US administration right from the beginning. And no less than seventeen Government agencies were working together to try to destroy the commune. The FBI and the CIA are by no means ‘clean’ agencies, especially back then in the eighties. There were undercover CIA agents at Rajneeshpuram. And as Swami Devakant, who lived close to Osho points out in his recent book, ‘In The Eye Of The Hurricane - The Inside Story Of A Disciples Journey’ , after Sheela had left the commune, it came to light that Sheela and her gang were having secret meetings with government agents. It isn’t clear whether they were having those meetings seeking informants, or they were actually part of a larger false-flag operation on part of the government. At some point in 1984 Ma Yoga Laxmi, one of Osho’s earliest Indian sannyasins and his secretary before Sheela, had been pressurised about her immigration status by the INS in New York, and they had threatened to deport her immiediatly , and also told her that they could make it easy for her and offered her a greencard, if she would basically do what they told her , and act as an informant, and that she could replace Sheela as Osho’s secretary as several members of the communes top management were going to be arrested. When she refused this offer and tried to explain that she was not interested in power, they intimidated her verbally and physically and deported her immiediatly.Osho had already asked her to look for a new commune site in India in 1983.Laxmi’s account of this harrassment , and physical abuse by the INS can be read in the last chapter of her short unfinished autobiography. Laxmi always spoke of herself in the third person: http://www.sannyas.wiki/images/3/33/The_Journey_of_the_Heart.pdfAnd this episode is also discussed in much more detail with input from Laxmi and others in the new book about Laxmi’s life: The Only Life: Osho, Laxmi and a Journey of the Heart written and researched by Rashid Maxwell. This was when Laxmi was living outside the commune for a while and Sheela was still in charge.Several members of Sheela’s group had dissapeared without a trace at the end of 1985 and were never proscecuted for their part in the crimes. Still, of course no-one knows for sure.Max Brecher , author of “a Passage to America” interviewed a couple of mercenaries who claimed to have been asked by Government authorities to help assassinate Osho while he was still present at Rajneeshpuram.Brecher had interviewed Don Stewart in southern Oregon in early 1989. At the time Stewart was around 40 and said he’d been an ‘undercover government operative’ for the past twenty years. The Sacramento Bee newspaper had established that Stewart had worked for the FBI and BATF and had even once infiltrated the American Nazi party. In 1984 Stewart was contacted by a certain ‘Wolfgang’ another ex-Vietnam vet and alleged FBI mercenary. Stewart, Wolfgang, and three other guys were supposed to go to Rajneeshpuram and assassinate Osho using military grade ‘C-4 explosive’. The idea was to do it during one of the drive-byes that Osho took daily in one of his Rolls-Royces. They assumed that many disciples would die as ‘acceptable collateral damage’. There was a second, less drastic plan, which was to blow up Sheela’s weapons arsenal to create an excuse for the National Guard to invade. (At the end of 1985, local radio stations were reporting that the Oregon National Guard had surrounded the commune and were preparing to invade) .For this, the five mercenaries were to be paid $100,000 each. All of this was, of course, hush hush, and one of the reasons Stewart bailed on the plan was because he believed that once the deed had been done, the government would itself quietly eliminate the five mercenaries to cover up their connection to the assassination of Osho. In the end all would be dead, no money paid out, and the trail to the government non-existent.In Stewart’s talks with Wolfgang the latter claimed that he mainly worked for the FBI, and that the whole effort to eliminate Osho was stemming from local farmers and ranchers who had been accumulating a ‘war chest’ to get rid of the Rajneeshees.Osho certainly had good reason to be suspicous, he had been dragged across the country, through six jails in twelve days, in what would usually have been a simple four to six hour prison shuttle plane journey, and in one of the jails, Oklahoma County Jail, he was made to sign in under the false name “David Washington”.The jail forms with Osho`s name written as David Washington taken from ‘Bhagwan: Twelve Days That Shook The World’ by Juliet Forman (1988)A U.S. Marshall took Osho to his cell and told him to take a dirty mattress. Osho had asked for a blanket and a pillow, however this was refused, despite being a cold November night.According to Osho`s own account:“Strangely enough, in the early morning at five o'clock he opened the door and he was a completely changed man. I could not believe my eyes, because he had brought a new mattress, a blanket, a pillow. I said, "But in the night you were behaving in such a primitive way. Suddenly you have become so civilized."And he offered me breakfast early in the morning—five o'clock. In no other jail I was offered breakfast before nine o'clock. I said, "It is too early—and why are you paying so much attention?"But he said, "You have to eat it quick, because within five minutes we have to leave for the airport."I said, "Then what is the purpose of the mattress and the blanket and the pillow?"He said nothing and simply closed the door. The breakfast was not much: just two slices of bread soaked in a certain sauce—I could not figure out what it was—tasteless, odorless.”“Before he died, Bhagwan asserted that he had been poisoned with radioactive material during his stay in Oklahoma City. Some of his disciples believe he may also have been given thallium or another toxic substance.Short of a deathbed confession by a retired US marshal, nobody is ever going to prove anything. But it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what happened. It wasn’t enough for the Reagan Administration to get him out of the country. They wanted a necktie party. They wanted to read him from the book, string him up and kick his horse from under him.” (Subhuti , ‘My Dance With A Madman’ , 2011, p. 119)Max Brecher on his research“I started in New York, doing legal research, and then I went to Washington D.C. and interviewed people in various federal departments who were involved in the case, including the Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS) Commissioner, Alan Nelson. Then I followed Osho’s trail from Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was arrested, to Oklahoma City, where he was held in jail, and then to Oregon itself. I did interviews with the major players involved. Putting their stories together, I could clearly see that there had been a conspiracy.”“With a certainty of 98% Meese – and with him Reagan – were involved in the operation, and all leads stopped on the level right below Meese. A Vatican connection to CIA’s catholic top management cannot be proven but is most likely to have existed. Any interview with Vatican officials were rejected. The book is based on primary interview material and contains no speculative content whatsoever.”“Bhagwan: Twelve Days that Shook the World”,(1989) documents the period when Osho was dragged through six jails in twelve days, apparently soon to be updated and rereleased as an ebook by Maneesha James , and “Was Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh poisoned by Ronald Reagan’s America” (1988) , by Sue Appleton aka Anando, Osho’s last secretary before he left the body.Anando on her research:“It wasn’t until I began research for this book that I realized that the number did not add up. There were twelve days between the night of Sunday, October 27th when Bhagwan was arrested and the evening of Friday, November 8th when he was finally released. So a night and a day were missing. I asked Bhagwan about it but he said I must have made a mistake and should check again. I did. And found the mistake. There were three nights between Monday, November 4th, when Bhagwan left Charlotte, and Thursday, November 7th, when he arrived in Portland. Bhagwan remembers only two – one at the county jail (Monday 4th), and one at El Reno where he slept exceptionally well. I checked with El Reno – Bhagwan had spent two nights there, November 5th and 6th. But one of those nights was wiped from his consciousness – possibly by sleeping drugs. It is a documented fact that right from his release, when he first started recounting his jail experiences and long before any suggestion of poisoning or foul play had arisen, Bhagwan consistently maintained that he had only spent one night in the El Reno penitentiary. Why did Bhagwan ‘lose track’ of a whole day in Oklahoma? What happened there? Why did the government smuggle Bhagwan into Oklahoma County Jail when federal transit prisoners are always taken to the federal El Reno facility? Why was Bhagwan admitted to Oklahoma County Jail under the pseudonym of ‘David Washington’, and why is there no record of his stay on the jail computer? Why was Bhagwan checked out of the county jail at 3:15 p.m. but not checked in to El Reno until 7 p.m.? El Reno was only a half hours drive away – Where was Bhagwan taken, and what happened to him, during those four hours on the afternoon of November 5th?”( Anando, ‘Was Bhagwan Sheree Rajneesh Poisoned by Ronald Reagan’s America’ ):Was Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh Poisoned By Ronald Reagan's America?: Sue Appleton: 9783893380411: Amazon.com: BooksManeesha on Osho’s health“In 1981, while in the ashram in Poona, Bhagwan had suffered a prolapsed intervertebral disc which was so debilitating that he could barely walk. As already mentioned, he was flown to America in case surgery was needed. Happily, in a controlled environment, Bhagwan’s health began to improve and surgery was not required. In the subsequent four years, apart from an episode of “swimmer’s ear,” Bhagwan was in good health. But after his ordeal in jail, on November 8th, 1985 Bhagwan looked extremely drawn and in a state of exhaustion. As the doctor most familiar with Bhagwan’s body, Devaraj says about his findings at this time: “Bhagwan was clearly unwell and felt generally very weak. His old back condition was now obviously aggravated with marked lumbar pains. In addition he had pains in both upper limbs, his appetite was very disturbed and food seemed to be tasteless and uninteresting to him. In addition, he suffered what he described as a ‘churning feeling’ in his stomach, and he had lost ten pounds during his imprisonment. He also complained of nausea and vomiting.“Particularly puzzling was a profound insomnia and a sense of uprootedness. At this time he also complained of strange nervous-system problems, especially a tingling all over the body, vertigo and headache… trouble with his eyesight, a blurring of vision that he had never suffered from before. Since that time he has not been able to read even one book…Throughout 1986 Bhagwan was to have a recurrence of the tingling sensation and the bone pain in his upper limbs was more marked. Signs and symptoms related to his spinal column became apparent, making it difficult for him to walk steadily. Insomnia, loss of appetite and weight loss continued. In 1987 Bhagwan was still suffering from all these inexplicable symptoms; in addition, he was now strangely more susceptible to minor infections than usual. In autumn he contracted an ear infection. Devaraj commented: “What should have been a simple, superficial ear infection proved almost untreatable. His resistance seemed non-existent. The infection went deep into the tissues, requiring three episodes of local surgery and only finally healing after six weeks of intensive antibiotic treatment…A simple infection had proved nearly life-threatening, requiring local surgery dangerously close to the facial nerve. “As this desperate situation developed, the whole picture of two years of chronic illness suddenly pointed to something more sinister: Bhagwan’s health had deteriorated only after his incarceration by the US government. ” (Forman 1989, “Twelve Days That Shook the World” p. 435)It is also notable that after Osho’s period in the jails , and after he was deported and banned from reentering the U.S. for five years, the Reagan adminstration did not stop there.Osho had flown straight back to India, to Dehli, North India, after being deported, and then travelled to Kulli Manali in the Himalayas, where his previous Indian secretary before Sheela , Ma Yoga Laxmi, had managed to find a new site for a commune. However, the White House put pressure on the Indian government to deny any of Osho’s foreign disciples visa’s, creating a problem as his caretaker, new secretary and his household members were all westerners, and also effectively disrupted his plans to begin any new commune. The same scenario repeated itself in Nepal, Osho’s next destination. It was at this point Osho decided to visit his people around the world, and this was the ‘world tour’ period, however the Reagan adminstration kept pressuring countries not to allow Osho entry, even going so far as to interfere when Uruguay was about to offer Osho permanent residence.See Anand Sharma's answer to Why did 21 countries refuse entry to Osho Rajneesh? It is also not impossible that someone in Sheela’s group, even if not neccesarily Sheela herself, could have poisoned Osho. They were experimenting with both fast and slow acting poisons, and there were attempts made on three other members of Osho’s household.“I participated in poisoning Devaraj numerous times, who was Osho’s physician. I participated in poisoning attempts on Vivek, who was Osho’s assistant, a number of times. I participated in poisoning Judge Hull. I participated in salmonella poisoning of the Dalles.”(From Ava`s testimony to the FBI)Swami Devakant recalls:“Something had happened in the afternoon hours before the ‘Celebration’: the meal that was prepared for us to be taken home after the evening event, like a take- out dinner, had a fruit salad in it, in its own box. Just before the darshan, suddenly it was ordered that all the fruit salads had to be taken back to the cafeteria and gotten rid of it, all 5,000 of them. Rumours sprang up that the ones that were destined for Lao Tzu House had been poisoned, but the idiots of Sheela’s gang who ran the kitchen got them mixed up with others, and now nobody knew what was what. That was typical; diabolical intentions and a lot of stupidity mixed together, that was the hallmark of the fascist gang.At the end of the darshan, something weird was happening up in the front, a crowd gathered; word came later that DevaRaj had a heart attack or something, nobody really knew what was going on in the ensuing chaos, but he was on the floor and a gathering of the ‘gang’ were around him, amd energetically it was clear that a maximum low point had been reached in the life of the commune, that those precious moments when we could actually sit in the presence of Osho had been turned into a massive energetic disaster” . ( “In The Eye Of The Hurricane- The Inside Story Of A Disciples Journey” , Devakant p203–204 : ‘In the Eye of the Hurricane’ ) .Osho and the commune had met a considerable amount of tension and resistance ever since they had arrived at the Big Muddy Ranch. Not only threats of violence from extremists such as the Ku Klux Klan, but also from local conservative Christian preachers and groups , who would stand by the side of the road , holding placards and signs, when Osho drove through the local towns, shouting at Osho . Some of them would even enter the Ranch land , and shout at sannyasins that ‘you’re all going to hell!’ and ‘go home!’ .So , surrounded by this kind of behaviour, when Osho began speaking again in 1984 he went a little over the top on Christianity , and organised religion, and this was also very provocative to the Christian fundamentalists in the US Government . His first series of talks were named “The Rajneesh Bible” .Osho having his blood pressure taken by Nurse Carter, who is said to have become fond of Osho whilst he was held in Mecklenburg County Jail for four days in November 1985. By all the accounts I have read, many of the jail staff, were quite impressed by Osho’s tranquility and peacefullness, and warmed to him.“A few days later, that same jet came back, alone with Vivek.(Osho’s personal caretaker) . She was arrested together with Osho, but bailed out soon. She talked to the whole commune one evening, said how He was, something like being in jail with Him was like sitting with Him in Mandir. He was the same. She was so cool. That was a beautiful meeting. It looked pretty clear to me that they did not want to let Him go for some time.” (Sidhai.)Osho arrested in Charlotte, North CarolinaMa Prem Shunyo was with Osho when they were arrested.
