As a former U.S. Army infantry officer, I never viewed myself or other fellow 11 Alpha officers & 11B/11C enlisted personnel as “badass.” This term should be left with Hollywood movies, TV, video games, or some fictional books, magazines, comics or music industry since it does not apply in reality.In the real Army, U.S.Infantry 11A officers, 11B /11C personnel that includes NCOs ( Noncommissioned officers) & soldiers are expected to be competent, confident, caring, loyal, brave, professional, team-oriented, & above all have each other’s back no matter what. Our lives are dependent on who we can trust on our left & right of us during combat. There is no room or tolerance for any lone wolves, “Rambos” or other fictional “badasses” that stand/fight alone on the battlefield.
