From the soft-top operation, to the solid *thunk* of the doors when the close shut, to the snikt-snikt-snikt sharp six-speed manual transmission as it claws through the forward gears, all the way to the howl of the mid-mounted engine which sits inches behind the driver's ears. This is a serious machine, built by serious nerds.The RS60 sits another centimeter closer to the ground than the already low-slung Boxster. You don't so much get into this car as you slide down into it.Whereas the trend for many luxury carmakers is to build insulation upon insulation in an effort to cocoon the driver from road noise and the sounds from other drivers, Porsche takes the opposite philosophy. The thin walls and the fact that your ass is literally inches from the asphalt zooming by at lethal freeway speeds is an intentional part of their design; it is there to communicate one very important message: pay attention.While it's possible to inadvertently drift up to 100MPH in an insulated AMG Mercedes (and I've certainly done so), going to 100MPH in a Porsche can only be an intentional decision; it is a decision that any owner will make joyfully and repeatedly on open roads and on the track.Observation 2: Your brain goes into weird placesComing from modest immigrant roots, the notion was drilled in my head from a young age: a car is a tool of transportation, to commute to your doctor/engineering job. Nothing more.Wrong wrong wrong.Here's the truth: the roar of air over the drop-top as you crest triple-digit speeds is a transcendental experience. As you watch lesser cars struggle to keep up - the older BMW coupes, Audis saddled by an extra thousand pounds of ballast (*cough* Quattro) spooling up their inadequately-compensating turbos, weird thoughts enter your head:Is it too late/am I too old to apply to be a covert operative for the CIA? How long could I last if I just emptied my bank account/sold my investments and just kept driving forever? How many sets of 19-inch tires would I have to burn through so I can execute this maneuver from Tokyo Drift?Observation 3: Porsches are polarizing cars and people react in awe/envy/admirationWhen driving my sensible-shoes Japanese cars, I am the Asian Clark Kent: model-minority immigrant guy, quietly going about my business. Nobody remembers me, nobody notices me.In the RS60, I get reactions. Some positive, some negative, but almost never neutral.To criminal-types in Oakland, they assume I am some sort of Chinese gang boss and keep a wide berth (I assume actual gang members would quickly recognize that I am not an established member of any organized-crime hierarchy and just ignore me).Single fathers ferrying their toddlers in minivans look at me with an expression of defeated envy.Young single men ask a thousand questions if I am stopped at gas station/dog park/meetup. ("How much?" "How fast?")Single women will smile (especially if my dog is riding shotgun). Blonde white women act very flirtatious. I'm a gentleman - I will wave back. :)​In traffic, I've seen children (previously engrossed in iPad games) stop, point, and turn their tablet's rear-facing cameras to record my passing.Valets treat me better. Dates are more fun. Running errands are a delight, and I invent longer routes for my grocery-shopping and other mundane tasks, just to squeeze in more vehicular joy in my day.And the best part is - with the price of secondhand Porsches dropping with each new-model release, this happiness is becoming affordable for more and more people.Before you go firing up Craigslist to find your Stuttgart piece of engineering, make sure you have enough spare cash budgeted to cover the occasional US$1000+ trips to the mechanic.But if you have the scratch, owning a Porsche is an experience that will not only improve your driving, it will improve your life.​

I am a Petroleum Engineering student myself on my last year of study. I have used only one laptop since year 1 and it served me great. It is a pretty old modeled laptop(relative to today’s fast new designs and model updates).For the new laptops out there, I’d suggest some of these basic specs as a MINIMUM, these specs will be great if you have tight budget. Buying a high-end laptop sometimes might be a waste if you won’t fully use it’s capabilities:-15′’ screen size (best for students, they are easy to carry and perfect size in bags)-4GB RAM (i use this one and never had any ‘hanging/lagging’ issue, 8GB are usually for Architecture or Design students)-i5 Core-Date of model release (know what year does the design of the laptop was released in the market.
