Ministry of Home Affairs ( MHA) on 30th September released new guidelines for reopening of schools and other higher educational institutions.For schools and coaching institutions, the State/UT govt have been given flexibility to decide regarding opening after Oct 15, in consultation with the management of respective institutions.Regarding colleges and other higher institutions, the decision will be taken after consultation with MHA.For Higher education institutions only research scholars (Ph.D) & PG students from Science & Tech requiring laboratory work will be allowed after Oct 15.The decision to open higher education institutions lies with Head of Institutions or in other cases with states/ UT govt.Online mode will be the preferred mode of education and will be encouraged.So, it is still not clear as to when schools and other higher educational institutions will reopen but most probably will open after DIWALI .Updates -West Bengal has delayed the decision to re-open schools till mid November.Maharashtra has decided not to reopen schools till atleast 31 October.Andhra Pradesh has decided to defer the reopening of schools till 2nd November.Delhi govt has pushed the date to reopen schools from Oct 5 to Oct 31.Thanks !!
