The Department of Transportation/Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requires companies that have big trucks, especially those that drive interstate, to keep files on their drivers. These are called DQ (Driver Qualification) files and consist of an application for employment, a driver’s record (which you’ve checked over), negative pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing reports, and copies of their valid commercial DLs and health cards (i.e., Medical Examiner’s Certificates).A state trooper had gotten angry with us for some reason, so he referred us for an audit, which did occur in a limited form. Basically, it was limited to collating mechanic’s repair reports with driver’s need-repairs reports and looking over the DQ files. It turns out that the auditor liked us; he seemed to have a genuine affinity for our little trucking operation, and so he performed a very limited audit, which we passed, with only a couple of infractions noted.If I remember there were two infractions, both of which being easy to fix.One was that he noted the owner/President of the company did not have an application for employment.—I took the owner a job application. He wrote in his name and information. For job wanted, he put boss.For references, he listed me, myself, and I (three references). How long had these people known him? He put down his age.For salary requested, he wrote as much as I can get. Signed it, dated it.I filed it away, and I guess he was hired over 30 years after he started the company.

So, that will cost you around Rs 20,000 for a year. Which for a day is Rs. 54(approx).Many leading automobile dealers will give you a false fact of ‘’Zero Maintenance Cost’’(Car owners in India will know this).So, the cost to maintain your car might be around Rs.9000 for a year, which is Rs.25/day.If you employ a driver (Uber gives you a driver) you have to pay him/her a sum of Rs 300 per day.If you are buying a car from a bank’s loan, the interest @8%(approx.) on Rs 6,00,000 is Rs 131 for a day.And thus, you are spending a huge amount of Rs.850 on your new car for a day!So, unless and until you spend Rs.850 per day to travel by UBER you don’t need a car :D(Even if you don’t employ a driver and are not taking loan from the bank, you spend Rs. 520, which is again huge)Now, don’t ask me if you can marry a girl who’s demanding for a car by showing your UBER app :PP.S : I'm not against having a car. Having a car for your family helps you under emergencies!Update: Scrap value has been increased to 2,00,000. Tyre and battery change costs have been updated and the petrol price is increased to 120 from 100. And still the cost remains the same.And even if you travel with surge pricing I’m pretty sure you needn’t spend a hefty sum of 850 in Uber. And stating again, this not applicable for everyone. You can very much go ahead and buy a car for the passion of driving, love for long rides with your friends and so on.Peace :)Image source : Google

The job prospects for embedded system engineers are generally good. From an engineering discipline point of view, it is one which is usually in demand though the roles would be more in embedded software development (firmware, device driver, applications) than in embedded hardware development (processors and the like). The challenge would be to meet the employment visa requirements if you are looking for jobs in countries other than your home country. EU regulations have made it mandatory for employers to certify that they could not find a citizen or a EU national for the advertised position and hence they are hiring a non-EU citizen. This appears more to be the case with companies than with academic research institutes. Visa regulations have become stricter in other countries also. MS (with good grades) from a good university in Europe or Germany is worth pursuing if you can. One thing that you need to be careful about is whether the universities you aim for are those which the hiring companies (in your country of interest) typically hear about. This gives you some amount of leverage otherwise you have to compete with the rest.
