ICICI PRUDENTIAL (Insurance Scam)I have taken home loan of Rs.53,00,000/- from ICICI Bank for the period of 20 years. While filling up the loan application form sales person told me about the iShield 360° insurance policy, its benefits etc and gave me estimate of Rs.1,85,432/- (one time payment) which will be added to my loan amount. (refer image) Along with loan application form I signed the insurance form too.The policy includes critical illness cover, all type of death cover/loss of limb, in case of my death Rs.48,96,875/- will be credited to the loan account. The policy I opted for is of 10 years, as I feel that I will be in a position to repay the amount within this period.I did not receive the policy even after 15 days of making payment. Contacted the bank sales manager, he promised me that it will be resolved soon. 10 days passed, he got frustrated (due to my repeated calls) and gave me contact no. of Mr.’X’ who belongs to the insurance company. He also made false promises for 15–20 days without any concrete solution (It was very frustrating)I contacted the customer care, they said that there is no policy linked to my loan a/c no or phone no. I was advised to visit nearest branch, did same with no luck.Filed a complaint with the nodal officer, who took matter seriously and emailed me the policies after 7 days (total one and half month after making payment)I contacted the customer care to cancel the policies, they told me to drop an email, the request can not be taken over a phone call. I did email them and received a reply saying “your ID is not registered with us”. The sales guy had deliberately put wrong email ID.Went to the branch, changed email ID, emailed them to cancel the policies.Now here’s the scam (see image)I visited the branch to see the scanned copies of my application form. I came to know that the sales guy had made my false signature and I was issued a policy of Rs.1,13,60,840/- (why would I go for this amount if my loan amount is Rs.53L) for a period is 5 years (I had applied for 10 years)I had to visit the branch office 3 times for different reasons.I had to fight to get my money back.I paid interest on the above amount.Today (after 2 months and 15 days of making payment) I received SMS that money will be deposited shortly.I consider that insurance companies in India are scammers. The sales team will always make false promises and later they will tell you to contact customer care for any queries.I still don’t know why did Insurance guy do this (to achieve his monthly target?)Let me know if I should move to IRDA/Consumer court to get the interest back or I should file a complaint for compensation.Thank you for reading.

The school system which is no longer about learning and is instead about who can memorise the most pointless information and pass. Instead, they choose to make it harder and harder to meet their expectations when children are just barely making it by.Why don't school’s teach us how to: pay our taxes, fill out our job applications, learn what employers look for in an employee, how to get a job, how to pay bills, why loans aren’t good. Leave all the pointless stuff to the people who actually need it for their careers.I want to be a language teacher, I really could care less about pythagorus’ theorem.Unfortunately people are forced to sit in a classroom for 6/7 hours a day and learn about things they’ll most likely never need in their lives.Completed your exams and started university? Congratulations! You’re now in lot’s of debt, in the big wide world with absolutely no idea what you’re doing. When I was trying for a home loan, I applied at two places and have received very bad service, both the place. First, Punjab National bank Housing Finance Limited, second, YES bank Limited.I had a rather larger requirement for the loan which most banks won’t give, so I had only few options. I approached various banks and finance houses and few of them guaranteed that they would give me the amount I needed.Punjab National bank Housing Finance Limited(PNBHFL, Pune)When I approached them, they said they were were going to finance the whole property if I needed and I didn’t have to do a part payment. This was my first experience so I easily got lured into their trap. I filled up the form and and gave them a cheque of Rs. 5900 for the processing fees. They were very prompt with starting my account and I kept getting mails and SMS. The second day of application, I got a call from the relationship manager told me I had been assigned a value more than what I needed. I asked him for the sanction letter on mail. He took some print out and sent me a photo of a letter which had no signs, stamps, letter head etc. So I asked him what next? He said go ahead and pay your booking amount. It was a huge amount for me, but I did immediately because I wanted to speed up the process. After I had booked the whole amount, he calls me up and tells me, sorry for the previous letter, we won’t be able to give you so much, infact we will give you like 30% less than what we promised earlier! I asked for the reason, they said because the property is not worth that much, and they were looking at property rates in their database, which hadn’t been updated in 4 years. They were giving out property loans without zero knowledge of the property rates. I asked for a refund of the processing fees and since that day they never took my call. Their customer care was even of no use to provide any info on how to register a complaint. I have raised a consumer complaint which is pending for last 5 months.YES Bank, PuneSince I had booked the flat, I had to keep trying. This was the second place I tried for the home loan. I was approached by their ‘Home Loan Consultant’ who asked me to fill up the form and issue a cheque of about Rs. 1200 in favor of YES bank for processing fees. I thought it was a risk worth taking because I didn’t want to lose couple of thousands because of fake commitments. He told me that he with this amount he will be able to give me a sanction letter based on latest property valuation. After I gave him everything he needed for the process, he said he would start the process the next day. Only when I get the sanction amount and am satisfied with the amount, I can pay an additional Rs. 4800 to take the process to the next level for disbursement to the property owner.The next day the Home Loan consultant calls me up and asks me, ‘Where is the other cheque of Rs. 4800?’. I was like what? We never had this discussion, I was supposed to issue the second cheque it only if I get the sanctioned amount to my need. Then he started telling me that you have to do this and that. Then he dropped down to explain me that the 2nd cheque would just be a formality to keep the process going, we would never encash it until you allow us. Without a thought I went ahead and called my bank and asked them to stop payment of the 1st cheque of Rs. 1200.Then I start getting threatening calls like, ‘YES Bank ke saath aapka relationship kharab hogaya hai’(You relationship with YES Bank has been ruined). I was like what??. ‘Aapka CIBIL score kharab hojayega.’(Your credit score will go down because you stopped processing of the home loan application). I got several calls after this. They kept threatening me that I was taking a huge risk, by not proceeding with their instructions, as they were a huge Bank. I told them I don’t give a damn about your bank and do whatever you want to do, my consumer case is also on the way. After that they stopped calling me.After such bad experience with both places, I will not go back to either of these companies. Actually, I have become negative towards taking a home loan. I have come to an understanding that the amount of money these guys charge is an interest will not let you ride the real estate market, infact you will be at a loss.
