It has got such an aura which promotes the overall growth in terms of knowledge and personality.The procedure of admission has become almost digital and you hardly have to step down to the campus with the hard copy of documents.Let me break the admission process into smaller bits-RegistrationsOnce the board exams get over by April, you will find an advertisement in the newspapers regarding the admissions for that particular session.However, if you do not read newspapers then at least keep on visiting the website of IEHE as they post all the updates regarding admissions there.It’s in the month of May when you’ll find registration forms on the website for UG Degree. Generally, this registration begins in the last week of April and closes in the first week of June.The first thing you have to do is filling of the registration form.These forms are available online and you can fill these forms without any external assistance of MPOnlines.You have to fill up your personal and educational details then the only thing to upload is a photo with signature.The final step is payment which can be done using debit cards, online banking etc.Charges of registration forms has been ₹500/- till date.PS- This is a recent change.You first have to make payments of the registration form using SBI Collect link and then with the reference no. you can proceed with the form filling.After filling this form, you have to stay calm.2. Cut-Off and Final ListAs per the registration forms, the cut off is decided.After deciding the cut-off for that particular year, the selected students are called for the counseling.You have to keep on digging the website as the list of selected students is uploaded there.In case, you don’t find your name in 1st or 2nd list then there’s a 3rd list which is the final one.And if you cannot make it in all the three list, you can choose to go for a payment seat.3. CounselingFor counseling, you have to visit the campus. Here you’ll meet up the faculties of various departments you have chosen.Here you’ll have to take along all your documents. Currently I'm a student of AEC nd I'm studying chemical engineering here (1st sem). Frankly speaking I never wanted to do engineering in my life but as we all know that it's not everyone's piece of cake to get a seat in medical colleges. So, I came here as AEC is the most reputed college of Assam under the state govt. But the inside picture of AEC is quite different from what we expect. Specially this year (2k17 batch) is suffering a lot. We had our end semester exams from 17th of this month but it has been postponed till no decision comes from the court! Yes you read right we have filed a case in the court against ASTU (Assam science and technology university) which is a university set up not more than 7years ago and now it wants to affiliate our 65years old AEC under it. And we the 1st semester students are protesting vehemently against it. Because of this protest we have spent one full month and our syllabus is not completed yet. And still the Assam govt. has to play a dirty game with us. They removed all govt. Engineering college names from the registration form under GU within one day and now forcing us to register under astu. See the faculties of AEC are really talented and are hardworking (exceptions are everywhere). But the education system in Assam is always influenced by politics. As you see we are hanging in the middle of no where. We don't know what is going to happen with us till the court doesn't declare it's verdict on Monday. Let's hope for the best. So, if you get lucky to choose between AEC and nit silchar, go for nit or study hard to get IIT. Central govt. is more trustworthy than Assam govt.

Recruitment as Soldiers in the Indian Army is based on Recruitable Male Population (RMP). Higher the population of a state, greater will be the RMP and more vacancies will be allotted to that State. Punjab's population, as per the 2011 Census, is 2.77 crore, with 1.46 crore being male. The relatively small size of the population notwithstanding, sources in the armed forces estimate personnel from Punjab constitute over 23 per cent of the services, even though the figure is on the decline. In 2011, when recruitment from Punjab was the highest in the past three years (see box), the Army had projected 70,457 vacancies, out of which 61,269 were filled. Punjab's contribution was 3,449 troops, making for 5.6 per cent of the enrolment. Army recently refuted any drop in RMP for Punjab and asserted that the State contributes more than its share of RMP. "It is not that youngsters are not coming forward, but their standard of education is so low that they are unable to qualify in the written tests," Brig IS Gakhal, former Director Sainik Welfare, Punjab, says. Recalling his tenure as Commandant of the Sikh Regimental Centre, a brigadier says out of about 500 persons who turned up for recruitment under the unit headquarters category, only a handful cleared the physical tests. "There have been instances where candidates have been caught using performance enhancing drugs," says Brig KS Kahlon, former Director Sainik Welfare.Punjab faces a challenge from the rampant abuse of alcohol and narcotics. Recent media reports have pointed out that about 70 per cent of the youth in Punjab is engaged in substance abuse. The State Disaster Management Plan states 73.5 per cent of the youth between 16 and 35 years is affected by drugs. This has resulted in adverse physical and psychological affects, limiting physical and mental performance.The Infantry, the largest component of the Army, has three regiments that drawtheir stock exclusively from Punjab. The Punjab Regiment has 19 battalions and the Sikh Regiment and Sikh Light Infantry 18 each. Troops from Punjab also form a component of the President's Bodyguard, Brigade of The Guards and Mechanised Infantry, which are mixed class outfits, as well as the Rashtriya Rifles (two battalions). The Armoured and Artillery regiments also have a large number of squadrons and batteries comprising troops from Punjab.The Tribune, Chandigarh, IndiaGeneral Nair said that according to the 2011 Census, the Recruitable Male Population (RMP) of Punjab is around 2.34 per cent which is the highest in the country. The state has the highest quota of 1,400 seats out of the total 60,000 vacancies for JCOs and other ranks in the country. “Punjab was subscribing to up to 3,000 vacancies until three years ago. The number has almost doubled to around 5,000 recruitments in 2014-15, one of the highest in the country,” said General Nair. State remains major contributor to armed forces: Lt Gen NairSo the Indian Army specifically looks at Punjab and not just as Sikhs to recruit. Yet it has 37 Battalions of Sikhs as the predominant class composition. If you see the Population matrix, as per census 2011, Sikh are majority in Punjab state. Sikhs constitutes 57.69% of Punjab population. Punjab Religion Data - Census 2011So with an RMP of 2.34 and Majority of 57.6% Sikhs stand better chance of being recruited.
