As a TCU sophomore who is majoring in Business Information System and Computer Information Technology, I can give you some insights about majors at Horned Frog nation.The most popular is Business. Neeley School of Business is a well-established business school for both undergraduate and graduate levels at state and national level. Neeley offers a variety of business majors that ranges from the more traditional like Finance or Accounting to the more dynamic in response to the change in the business world such as BIS (my major) or Supply Chain Management.The application to Neeley is extremely competitive. Students can apply to the business school after completing a series of examinations and requirements. Those who do not qualify get another chance to apply, afterwards they are ineligible to send in an application.Another extremely popular major is Nursing. I do not know much about the Harris College of Nursing, but it attracts a large number of students every year and offers one of the best programs in the nations.TCU is a National University, yet it has a strong focus on liberal arts. The AddRan Liberal Art College provides a diverse selection of liberal art majors such as Political Science, English, Economics, and so on.Strategic Communication and Journalism are the top majors in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication.Among science majors, Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry all take the top places because they are of high quality at TCU. Other science majors are not as popular. I am an IT major and I can tell you that it is not best place to study IT.There are also a lot of great majors that I have missed. Speech Pathology, Sport Broadcasting, Ranch Management are among the less popular, yet still top notch quality, programs that TCU offers.I hope this helps.

If you look at these statistics, you will see that if you have the GPA and test scores, you have roughly a 50/50 chance of being admitted.Bottom line: Other than fitting into the range of admitted students profiles, there is no magic formula for improving your chances of being accepted because you are being subjectively evaluated and compared tot he other applicants. What this means is if you are in range of the GPA and standardized test scores, you apply and hope your best is good enough to be admitted.
