Paul McCartney, hands down.“Macca” was accomplished at bass guitar (surprise!), rhythm and lead guitar, pretty darn good on keyboards ... and ... drums.Here are multiple examples (this is not meant to be definitive):As early as 1965, on the Ed Sullivan show, we watched Paul playing acoustic guitar on "Yesterday."Also, in 1965, it was Paul playing the bluesy electric piano on "Tell Me What You See" (on Help!).As we all know, Paul plays lead guitar on Revolver's "Taxman," on Sgt. Peppers' "Good Morning, Good Morning," and on "Paperback Writer."On 1968's The White Album:Only 16 of the album's 30 tracks have all four band members performing. Several backing tracks do not feature the full group, and overdubs tended to be performed by whoever wrote the song. Sometimes McCartney and Lennon would record simultaneously in different studios using different engineers.-- "Wild Honey Pie" ... McCartney is the sole performer on the song’s recording ... acoustic guitars, bass drum and other percussion-- "Back In The USSR" ... Ringo had quit the band for a minute, and so McCartney played drums-- "Mother Nature's Son"... McCartney is the sole performer on the recording... acoustic guitars, timpani, bass drum (George Martin arranges the brass-- "Blackbird" is all Paul, singing and playing acoustic guitar-- Paul also of course played the piano on "Hey Jude," the recording of which was part of the White Album sessions ... and keyboards as well on "Strawberry Fields" -- Mellotron (and he also played timpani)—Paul is the lead guitarist on "Birthday"BTW ... "Julia" is the only Beatles song on which John Lennon performs alone ...BTW2 ... still on John -- "Good Night" is a lullaby written by Lennon for his son Julian, and he specifically wanted Starr to sing it. The early takes featured just Lennon on acoustic guitar and Starr singing. George Martin scored an orchestral and choral arrangement that replaced the guitar in the final mix, and also played the celesta.BTW3, Ringo's composition, "Don't Pass Me By" ... it's just Starr drumming while McCartney played piano. Jack Fallon played a bluegrass fiddle part.BTW4, in early 1968 (before The Beatles left for India), Paul played the piano on "Lady Madonna"On 1969's Let It Be:Paul, of course, played the piano on "Long and Winding Road" and "Let It Be"On 1970's Abbey Road:"Maxwell's Silver Hammer" McCartney handles piano, guitars and the Moog synthesizer, with Martin playing the organ, and either he or Ringo do the clanging on the anvil.BTW, John plays the piano on George’s "Something," though most of it was edited out of the final track except for in the 'middle 8'.BTW2, on "Here Comes The Sun" is all George ... One day my daughter addressed me as “Bryan!” Usually it would be “Dad!” But seeing as we were at the airport, she figured fewer bystanders would wonder if it was them who were being addressed. No big deal; I understood.If, say, we worked together in business, I would expect her to call me “Bryan” in that setting. What does she call me these days? “Dad” (without her children) or “Granda” (with them, although they do know our ‘real’ names).I view it as a ‘special relationship’ that my children use the RELATIONSHIP as my moniker rather than my given name, which everyone else uses.I guess it comes down to context and intent; I have a sister’s son who calls his natural father “Peter*” as a passive-aggressive(?) protest to his father spending next to no time with his grandchildren.BTW1 my son-in-law’s parents are divorced and re-married. They are called “Nana and Andrew*” and “Grandad and Irene*” - the step-parents are given no ‘special relationship ’.BTW2 my son-in-law calls me “Bryan” one-on-one, never “Dad”; but “Granda” when his children are around; I’m comfortable with that.BTW3 I called my mother-in-law “Mum”.* Actual names changed to protect their privacy, but you get the idea.

It’s David Frost’s theme song (which was written by … George Martin), then a snippet of th song, “It’s Now Or Never.”The video was shot at Twickenham Film Studios, to be played on David Frost’s show as if it were live, as the ‘presentation to the public’ of the song.They actually did the song three times through at Twickenham, and what is seen on video is comprised of pieces taken from two of the three ‘takes’.BTW, supposedly, Paul didn’t get the words wrong — as he appears to — but he was ‘ad-libbing along with the audience’ …BTW2, The little “It’s Now Or Never” clip was a deliberate parody of Elvis singing his 1960 #1 hit (20 million in sales, his biggest hit) … it was John being humorous. And, playing that evidently brought them good luck! — “Hey Jude” was The Fabber’s biggest hit as well.BTW3, “Hey Jude” was released on Aug, 26, 1968 in the United States. It quickly rose to the number one spot, where it remained for the next nine weeks – the longest run achieved by any Beatles single. Altogether it spent 19 weeks in the charts.BTW4, “Hey Jude” is the biggest-selling debut release ever for a label, and remains The Beatles’ most commercially-successful single.
