Hundreds of police dogs have died but the police keep it under the wraps because they don’t want the general public to catch on to their long history of abuse. It’s all a facade. Police torture and mistreat their own dogs. Call your local police department and request to speak to the k9 unit and inform them of the dangers of leaving police k9’s in hot cars. This needs to stop. Spread this story. Thanks, Param.Update: So this is still happening in 2018Police K9 dies after being left in hot carPolice Dog Dies After Being Left in Hot Car for 6 Hours, Officer Who Left Dog Not ChargedDetroit officer probed after K-9 dies in hot carThis brings the number of police K9 hot car deaths to a whopping 118 since 2012.That number is far higher since police agencies are not required to report the deaths.I dont understand if the police put a suspect in a oven and turned it up to max heat (120 Degrees) and let them bake to death nice and slow, their would be nationwide protests and it would be headlined in the news for months and the incident would be never forgotten — like 9/11.But when the police put working service dogs in hot ovens (hot cars) and let them bake to death hundreds of times — nothing. No media attention after 1 day. No Instagram posts by angry people. No celebrity attention. No charges filed by the DA. No consequences. Nothing. These are dogs that find your lost child/grandmother when you need themThese are dogs that take drug dealers & dangerous drugs off the street and make the world safer for youThese are dogs that apprehend violent murders so you don’t become the next statisticThese are dogs that find felons (who will kill you on a whim) hiding in the woodsThese are dogs that detect bombs so you don’t explode in an airplaneAnd this is the type of respect you give them in return?Thats messed up man. When a young man in Sacramento was looking thru cars at night time and was caught, and shot dead by police, the residents of Sacramento protested for weeks, the story was shared by people all over Instagram, everyone talked about it and made such a big deal out of it.Now when a bomb sniffing dog dies miserably after being left in a hot car for 6 hours, some pretend to care for a few seconds and move on with life, and some don’t think about it too much. See that’s the problem, 50% of all these K9 hot car deaths are all the general public’s fault. If you guys protested, talked about this issue and made a big deal out of things — just like you guys did with Oscar grant, travon Martin, philando castile, and many more these horrific police k9 hot car deaths wouldn’t be happening because police would be scared of the retaliation from the public. You probably haven’t even heard about police k9’s increasingly dying in hot cars cause no one makes a big deal out of it. But you definatly have heard of police killing unarmed people — From freinds, teachers talking about it in class, celebs posting reactions to it, Instagram posts by every other person. Why?Police wouldn’t ever dare leave a K9 in a hot car — if the public protested, celebs posted on Instagram, and everyone talked about it.So it’s 50% police fault and 50% your fault for not doing anything.Society is messed up.Update:I’m upset to report that I just happened to go to http://googlenewsarchives.com and I searched news paper titles of “police dog hot car death” from 1995–2012 and I came across 176 archived newspaper reports of police k9’s dying all across the country after being left in hot cars. Here are some more hot car archives since 1995–2012Update: so I’m happy to write that a new law is being proposed that gives anyone who injures or kills a police dog a minimum of 5 years of prison — rather than 15 days in jail. Today we will find out if police dogs will also be protected like officers.Update:The bill was rejected after black law makers voted against protection for police k9’s.Democratic Leader Gail McCann Beatty is also black. She said passing the bill would have sent a message that dogs’ lives matter more than African Americans’ concerns.Source: Missouri bill to increase penalty for harming police dogs fails in legislatureShame on those law makers. I hope they get accidentally put in a hot patrol car for hours. I bet they would have a change of heart minutes after being slowly baked alive.Still support the police after reading about these excruciating K9 deaths?Lock yourself in a car when the outside temp is approx 76 degrees. Park in sunlight. Crack the windows just slightly. Make sure a/c is turned off. Sit back and wait. After 30 minutes the temps will have risen rapidly and you start feeling the heat. All over your body. You want to remove your shirt but you can’t. You want to open the door at this point but you can’t. You wait a little longer. It’s getting even more agonizing. Then you throw up. Then again. And then again. Now you have nothing left in your stomach to let out. You continue to violently throw up but nothing is coming out. It’s torture. This is followed by dirrehia. The heat at this point is excruciating. The thermometer in the car reads 120 degrees. It’s been 1hr. You still have approx 1–3 hours to go before you are possibly put out of your misery. You throw up some more. Your panting but nothing is working. You know your fucked at this point. It’s gonna be a nice slow painful death. Seconds feel like days. The whole expierence is just dark. You try to eat the seats and claw your way out as a final resort. But your locked in a hot car. At this point your body goes into full rigor mortis. Your body is violently shaking back and forth, you feel the intense 120 degree heat, and your mouth is foaming. No one is coming to rescue you. You continue to throw up violently. You wonder what you did to deserve this draconian punishment. Blood slowly drips out your nose. Eventually you die of vehicular heatstroke. The worst death ever. That’s what it was like for those hundreds of police k9’s trapped in those hot patrol cars. The articles written below by USA Today and PETA caught my attention and inspired me back in 2012 and I have been tracking the horrific deaths since then:PETA: At Least 19 Police Dogs Have Died in Hot Cars46 Police Dogs Have Died in Hot Patrol Cars - The Dogington Post46 police dogs died in hot squad carsPolice K-9s increasingly dying in hot carsUpdate: Must Watch (Sensitive Content)118 Police Dogs Died in Squad Cars Since 2012
