Yes, it has happened a few times.Piyush Srivastava did it back in 2005.IIT-JEE - AIR 1AIEEE - AIR 1ISC(12th board) - AIR 1Piyush is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar at Caltech. Prior to joining Caltech, he did his post graduation from UC Berkeley. He has had 3 stints as a research intern at Microsoft in 2009, 2011 and 2013. He is a graduate of computer science from IIT Kanpur and is currently working in theoretical computer science.He is an alumni of Boys' High School and College, Allahabad. I went to the same school. I was in class 3rd at the time when he cracked JEE. Almost every teacher who taught us then, told us that he/she had taught Piyush.Because of his achievements many coaching institutes popped up in the city around that time claiming that they had mentored him. Although there was hardly any truth in these claims.Some other achievements -Won Gold medal in the International Physics Olympiad held in Spain in 2005.Scored 98% in ISC.Stood 2nd in UP-CET examination.What staggers me is that he topped ISC along with IIT-JEE and AIEEE. How can a person with such an intellect have the patience to write down each and every step in a subjective exam, knowing that this exam(ISC) means nothing to him !Salute to the IQ, hard work and patience of this man. He is truly a gem and we Allahabadis are proud of him.

1.Raghu Mahajan IIT -JEE & AIEEE AIR-1(Year 2006)Let's see:1. Scored 98% in 12th standard.2. Is AIR 1 in AIEEE and IIT-JEE.3. Won a Gold Medal at the International Physics Olympiad and cleared KVPY.4. Got into MIT rather , acquired two S.B degrees in Physics and Mathematics.5. Won the Gates Cambridge Scholarship and did his Masters in String Theory in one year from the University of Cambridge.6. Now is doing Ph.D in Theoretical Physics from Stanford University.He just completed two research paper first paper is on entanglement and the second one is on Cosmology.2. Arvind Thiagrajan (Year 2001)After completing his graduation from IIT Madras in Computer Science.Arvind went to MIT for his PhD.He has written numerous research papers in the area of mobile computing.During his PhD, he interned with Yahoo and Google which are the best companies in Silicon Valley for any computer science researcher.With 42 patents to his credit, he founded a company in 2011 in mobile computing.He is currently working with Amazon as a research scientist.3. Dungara Choudhary (Year 2002)He graduated from IIT Kanpur in Computer Science with a thesis in distributed parallel architecture.He did an internship at Honeywell and upon graduating joined Air Tight Networks where he quickly rose to become a Team Lead in a brief span.He is currently working in Oracle as a Principal Member of Technical Staff.4. Shashank Dwivedi (Year 2003)Shashank is from Bhilai and has been a role model for IIT JEE aspirants from the city, which has since then produced number of top rankers. He completed his B.Tech in computer science from IIT Bombay and has completed his masters from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.5. Shushant Sachdeva (Year 2004)Sushant is currently a Postdoctoral Associate at the Department of Computer Science at Yale University.Prior to joining Yale, Sushant graduated from Princeton University in 2013.He has done multiple research internships at Toyota, Microsoft and ETH Zurich.He has published numerous research papers in prestigious conferences throughout the world.He has competed his B.Tech from IIT Bombay and his research interest lies in algorithms.6. Nitin Gupta (Year 2000)Nitin joined IIT Kanpur in July 2014 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and Bio-engineering.He graduated from the Department of CSE, IIT Kanpur and eventually went on to study biology at University of California, San Diego.He plans to set up a cognitive neuroscience lab here at IIT Kanpur. He is an inspiration to many who want to contribute back to the educational system in India.8. Shitikanth (Year 2008)He is from Patna,Bihar cracked JEE in 2008 with AIR 1. He was a student of Bansal Classes Kota. As I was a student of Kota, We used to hear a lot about this guy, about his intelligence and how the teachers were scared of him. He is one of the best performer in Maths in JEE till date.He chose Computer Science and Engineering in IIT Kanpur over IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi.Now he has completed his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur and is living in Waterloo, Ontario and his love for Mathematics is still alive.9. Vivek Borkar (Year 1972)He Completed his B Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay,Then, PhD from Berkeley.Faculty position in TIFR, then IISC and currently in Electrical Engineering Department in IIT Bombay.He is living legend in the field of stochastic control.10. Vineet Buch (Year 1989)Vineet Buch still remembers 10 June 1987. Bhopal. The Indian Institute of Technology All India Joint Entrance Exam (IIT-JEE) results were announced. Buch, then a 15-year-old dabbling with career choices, scanned through the rank-holders list. Then he scanned it again. Soon he made up his mind. He would try and finish No 1 in the entrance exam. “It seemed like a cool thing to do.”11. Dr. Sanjeev Arora (Year 1986 )He transferred from IIT K to MIT to study the course equivalent to Mathematics and Computing. He obtained his Ph.D in Theoretical Computer Science from UC Berkeley, and is currently professor at Princeton. He was born in Kota!!!12. Rajesh Gopakumar (Year 1987)He was 20 years old when he wrote the exam.He chose to study Physics and obtained a Bachelors and Masters from IIT Kanpur.He did his Ph.D in Physics from Princeton and Post Doctoral Research at Harvard.Currently he is professor at Harish Chandra Institute.13. Subhash Khot (Year 1995)He is another topper who did NOT take any coaching.He merely lived alone in Pune on the recommendation of his teacher.He went to IIT B to study CSE, then went to Princeton to earn his Ph.D from Sanjeev Arora.Currently professor at NYU, had won awards in Mathematics.14. Achin Bansal (Year 2007)Graduate College: IIT MumbaiField: Computer ScienceWhere did he go post IIT: Morgan StanleyWhat’s he upto now: Morgan StanleyAchin Bansal is from the small town of Kotkapura, Punjab. He was also a summer research intern for 3 months at the prestigious University of Bath in United Kingdom. Post IIT, Achin has been at Morgan Stanley as an analyst and then an associate. He is one of the few IIT JEE toppers from 2000-2009 who neither opted for higher studies nor left the country.The more recent IIT JEE toppers have only just begin their career or are still in college.2010 IIT JEE AIR 1– Anumula Jithendar ReddyAnumula completed his electronics and communication engineering degree at IIT Mumbai. He completed his internship from QEA Eduventure and is presently a Research Assistant at Caltech SURFriends in Pasedena, California.2011 IIT JEE AIR 1– Prudhvi TejPrudhvi Tej was not only the IIT JEE topper in 2011, but was also 7th rank holder in AIEEE . He has worked with Google India after scoring a rank of 122 in the Google APAC.2013 IIT JEE AIR 1- Pallerla Sai Sandeep ReddyPallerla Sai Sandeep Reddy received admission in the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in the Computer Science stream after becoming the 2013 IIT JEE topper. He wishes to further pursue post-graduation in robotic technology.2014 IIT JEE AIR 1- Chitraang MurdiaChitraang Murdia is doing his Bachelors in Physics at MIT. Quite a few people I know from IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi. They cleared JEE in their 2nd attempt with under 100 All India Rank(AIR).IIT Bombay Computer Science:Ajay Garg-AIR 7(general) in IIT JEE 2005. He got AIR 3840 in IIT JEE 2004.Amrose Birani-AIR 3(general) in IIT JEE 2007. He could not clear the cutoff (Not Qualified) in IIT JEE 2006.Saswat Padhi-AIR 43(general) in IIT JEE 2010. Now he is doing PhD at UC Los Angeles. In IIT JEE 2009 he secured AIR 4504.Tadepallilakshmi Datta Manoj-AIR 62 in IIT JEE 2011. He secured AIR 3200 in IIT JEE 2010.IIT Delhi Computer Science:Yasoob Haider-AIR 91(general) in IIT JEE 2011. He got AIR 4603 in IIT JEE 2010.Kaushal Hooda-AIR 88(general) in IIT JEE 2012. He secured AIR 3564 in IIT JEE 2011.Sumit Kumar -AIR 50(general) in IIT JEE 2013. AIR 13685 in IIT JEE 2012.Aman Bhatia-AIR 74(general) in IIT JEE 2013. AIR 13001 in IIT JEE 2012.“There are many students who have cleared IIT JEE in their 2nd attempt with a very decent rank but unfortunately didn't get Computer Science (CS) because it is preferred maximum by top rankers.”Well students not getting CS in 1st year should keep a last hope. Before reaching sophomore year (3rd semester) all fresher's (1st year students) have the option of branch change to any Engineering Department. For branch change, fresher's (1st+2nd) semester marks should be in top 1% of the entire 1st year batch. “Competition in semester among the top 0.5% students of the country is the best thing anyone can imagine.”2014 JEE AIR 1 Chitrang Murdia studied 1st year in CS. Then he changed his branch to Engineering Physics🙂in 2nd year. After branch change he drop out from IIT Bombay😂😂😂.Good luck! Thanks!
