You may gave up a hobby or favorite pastime, changed your music selection, avoid certain people who clash with the narc. You make the changes as a willing sacrifice because that's what love does.You'll get tired of being ignored after a fight.Fights will increase in frequency.Fights never have any solid complaints or legitimacy.Increased frequency of crying when youre alone, or in midst of being belittled for not praising the narc enough. You burst into tears because love doesn't hurt. You want nothing more than to be with the person for all eternity. But they make you cry more often than not.You will see all this. You will ignore it all. You'll make excuses and find ways to dismss it all.Then when youre picking up the pieces in the aftermath of the final show down, it will take time, courage, strength, and a shit ton of thinking to finally see it all, put all the puzzle pieces together and have for the 1st time a clear view of what the hell you just lived threw.

Here are some books I have enjoyed for different reasons, and they belong to a variety of genres.Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman — Funny, irreverent, clever—suits my sense of humour and is one of my favourite books.The Magician by Raymond E Feist — I read a lot of fantasy and this is greatThrone of Glass by Sarah J Maas — more fantasy. I love this seriesThe Physician by Noah Gordon — historical fictionThe Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon — set in Spain just after the Civil War and about a boy whose father takes him to the Cemetary of Forgotten BooksFahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury — a dystopian novel written in the 1950s about a world where books are illegal and people wear buds in their ears and are bombarded with sounds and stimulus all day and night. Brilliant book!Anything by James Rollins that features Sigma Force. Map of Bones is a good starting point. Great adventure books involving secret organisations and hunts for ancient treasures.Northern Lights by Philip Pullman — this is the first in a trilogy. More fantasyif you’re interested in crime thrillers I recommend the following authors: Jonathan Kellerman, Faye Kellerman, Karen Rose, P. J. Tracy, Tess Gerritsen, James PattersonTo Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee — slow going to start but a powerful book about prejudice and the effects it has on peopleThe Kiterunner by Khaled Hosseini — a beautiful, heartbreaking novel set in Afghanistan in recent decadesThe Bookthief by Markus Zusak — set during the Holocaust with a young girl as the protagonistThe Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud — first book in a trilogy set in a magical world and featuring a boy apprenticed to a magician and a sarcastic djinni called BartimaeusI could keep going, but that’s probably enough to give you some ideas. With one final recommendation from my favourite author, Terry Pratchett. His Discworld books are fantastic. Funny, clever, creative and insightful. Of the whole series (over 30 books), the very early ones are my least favourite, but they’re still good. Guards, Guards, Men at Arms, Wyrd Sisters, Monstrous Regiment, Small Gods, The Truth and Going Postal are all great. So are his young adult books set on the Discworld, like The Wee Free Men. Any books that feature the Nac Mac Feegle and Tiffany Aching are great fun.
