I have Crimean Tatar relatives, so I guess I am a bit qualified to answer this question. Let’s start from small and very simplified history lesson.Who are Crimean Tatars? They consist from 3 ethnicities that lived in Crimea when it was Turkish: 1) chinese looking people with narrow eyes 2) persian looking people with slightly dark skin and wide eyes 3) european looking people, descendants of germanic tribes and italian colonists. All these people adopted Islam and Turkish culture, their language is in fact a dialect of Turkish language.Now most of them speak Russian, maybe with some Tatar words they use mostly for fun, although I heard about several places with families where they try to speak Crimean Tatar language (small city Bakhchysarai and some villages). They never spoke Ukrainian language of course, it was imposed on them like on all others during time with Ukraine.When Turkey lost war (hundreds of years ago), Crimean Tatar aristocracy sweared allegiance to Russia and Tatars were allowed to keep their Islamic religion and live like any other citizens of Russian Empire. The only problem for them was that Catherine the Great and next Tzars populated Crimea with Russians, Germans etc., so Tatars became a minority despite absence of any significant conflicts or any kind of oppression. But obviously they did not like Russian newcomers much. After 1917 Revolution, in 1921, they tried to establish Crimean Tatar Republic within the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist republic. However, this scenario did not work well as Crimean Tatars were already a minority, so eventually Tatars received no special rights in Crimea.When Hitler occupied Crimea, some tatars saw it as opportunity to get rid of Russians:many Crimean Tatars betrayed Soviet Union, deserting Red Army units that defended the Crimea and siding with the enemy, joining volunteer army unitsformed by the Germans to fight against the Red Army; as members ofGerman punitive detachments, during the occupation of the Crimea byGerman fascist troops, the Crimean Tatars particularly were notedfor their savage reprisals against Soviet partisans, and alsohelped the German invaders to organize the violent roundup ofSoviet citizens for German enslavement and the mass exterminationof the Soviet people.The Crimean Tatars actively collaborated with the Germanoccupation authorities, participating in the so-called “Tatarnational committees,” organized by the German intelligence organs,and were often used by the Germans to infiltrate the rear of theRed Army with spies and saboteurs. With the support of the CrimeanTatars, the “Tatar national committees,” in which the leading rolewas played by White Guard-Tatar emigrants, directed their activityat the persecution and oppression of the non-Tatar population ofthe Crimea and were engaged in preparatory efforts to separate theCrimea from the Soviet Union by force, with the help of the Germanarmed forces.At the same time, some Crimean tatars (including my relatives) served in Red Army. But when Crimea was freed from Germans, Stalin decided to deport ALL tatars to Uzbekistan, without any trials. That saved majority of Tatar men from sure death as most of them collaborated with Nazi. At the same time that was not good for those who did not collaborate. But it was a war time and Soviet Union could not afford detailed investigation as well as absolutely comfortable deportation, they all were deported by trains, some weak and very old died on their way to Uzbekistan but all in all, Stalin saved much more Tatars than killed because trials would kill about 80-90% of entire Tatar males who worked for Hitler.In Soviet Uzbekistan tatars had pretty good life and multiplied and when their second deportation (this time from Uzbekistan to Crimea) happened, they returned to Crimea more numerous than ever before but still not numerous enough to make Crimea a Tatar place. They comprise about 10% of population only, so any attempt to demand any special rights could be absolutely not democratic. However, the most "democratic" country in the world, I mean US Empire, started supporting their absolutely unrealistic nationalistic aspirations directly and also with help of their best friend Democratic Saudi Arabia Islamic Extremist Monarchy, and of course with help of some Turkish forces as some Crimean Tatars live there too.US and Ukraine always knew that majority of Crimeans are fiercely pro-Russian, so their idea was to organise Tatas very well, so that just 10% of active Tatars would be able to stop unorganised and passive Russian majority from returning back home to Russia. So, during Ukrainian time was created a semi-legal Tatar parliament called Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People - Wikipedia which was used to promote Tatar nationalism and permanent conflict between Tatar minority and Russian majority. At the same time, Saudi Arabia promoted some radical islamic ideas which were pretty alien to Tatars before but given enough effort and money you can subvert people to anything. Hizb ut-Tahrir - Wikipedia movement recruited Tatars openly during Ukrainian times but of course it was shut down by Russia immediately, as well as illegal nationalistic Mejlis.In 2014, Ukrainian Nazi tried to use tatars to prevent reunification of Crimea with Russia, there was a large meeting in Simferopol that miraculously ended without much violence, they brought several thousands of well organized tatars but they were not stupid to start war being 10% minority, they understood that russians are not organised but much more numerous. However, it was very likely that next day violence would erupt, but next day Russian professional military guys came and there was no meetings anymore, just peaceful citizens of Simferopol taking photos with soldiers :)Mejlis leaders were not arrested, they were given a chance to work toward peace and cooperation with Russia, but they preferred to leave Crimea and continue their business of receiving money from US and other sources. Also, all Hizb ut-Tahrir activists fled from Crimea. The numbers of Crimean Tatars who left Crimea is unknown but I don't think it is significant, maybe several hundreds. Some of them later returned back to their families. Very few were really punished for extremism.Now, three years after peaceful reunification, most of them still traditionally don't like Russians but most of them are happy that they are not in Ukraine. Russia is noticeably richer and treats Tatars better than Ukraine, many problems with lands and illegal homes they built after returning from Uzbekistan were never resolved in Ukraine but were quickly resolved in Russia. Now there is practically no unemployment in Crimea because Russia invests crazy amounts of money into rebuilding and restoration of Crimea, also, Crimean Tatars can now legally work in any place in Russia, so most of them are pretty happy. As for tatar culture and language, they are absolutely not suppressed, in fact, Russia traditionally supports many local cultures and languages, including Tatar.So, despite that some Tatars are not happy because nobody will allow them any kind of Tatar Republic in place where they are just 10% minority, most of them understand that any resistance is futile and simply live the same life as most Crimeans, many of them simply don't care much about their nationality, they speak Russian, marry russians etc. Generally, Crimean Tatars are not really religious, they value good education and are pretty hard working, so I don't see any problems with them in the future, all recent problems with them before 2014 were due to support of nationalism by Ukraine and US, plus support of religious extremism from Saudi. Now they are good law-abiding citizens of pretty diverse Russian Federation.Actually, even during 2014 events, some Crimean Tatars (maybe around 5–10%) supported Russia, some even attended Crimean status referendum despite Mejlis call not to vote, and voted for separation from Ukraine. The reason was that Russia is richer, some tatars married russians, some worked in Russia, some saw Russia as the closest thing to Soviet Union, some became practically russified etc.

If it were not for NSG, Army, and police the collateral damage would have been far worse.After the attack on the Pathankot airbase, everything seemed to change, the terrorists had strict instructions from their Pakistani handlers to destroy Indian assets. This support was a direct result of his efforts to showcase India's eligibility for a position on this international platform.4. Decision-Making AbilitiesAt the time of his governance in Gujarat, PM Narendra Modi demonstrated his extraordinary decision-making skills, a trait that isn't seen too often in Indian politicians. Shanghai has set a new benchmark for future cities. India’s new cities ought to begin from where Shanghai left off. A key aspect should be that these cities must have aesthetic value. They ought to improve in Paris and the rest of Europe at the minimum. For this, Modi and his team would need great architects.12. All we need is integrity, skill, and speed. Hopefully, the Modi government would share a list of these 100 districts first.15. Return Of The Kashmiri PanditsIt is a shame that our own has to be in exile in the homeland. A safe and sound long-term return of the Kashmiri Pandits could help heal in a big way. It ought to be the first of many such correctives going all the way to the Maoists in Chhattisgarh.16. The Jan Dhan Bank account also comes with overdraft, insurance, that are now being used widely.24. Beti Bachao, Beti PadhaoPM Modi launched Beti Bachao Beti Padhao on 22 January 2015 at Panipat, Haryana. This mission was initiated to address the worsening Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and issues related to women empowerment over a life-cycle. It is an effort of three ministries: Ministries of Women and Child Development, Health & Family Welfare and Human Resource Development.The major elements of the scheme are Enforcement of PC & PNDT Act, nation-wide awareness and advocacy campaign and multi-sectoral action in the 100 chosen districts that are low on CSR. In order to turn this vision into reality, the Government launched an integrated Ganga conservation mission called ‘Namami Gange’ to curb the ever-increasing pollution of the Ganga River and revive the river. The Union Cabinet sanctioned the action plan that was proposed by Centre regarding spending Rs 20,000 crores till 2019-2020 on cleaning the river and increasing the budget by four times and with 100% central share – a central sector scheme.29. Various rounds of the auction were carried out for spectrum in 4 different bands: 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 2100 MHz. Apart from this, the Environment Ministry began the process of online submission of applications to ensure online tracking and facilitate informed, transparent, expeditious and predictable decisions on forest approval applications.Moreover, the government is working in tandem with the Swiss Government and procuring case details investigated by the IT Department. The Government sanctioned the Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets (Imposition of Tax) Bill 2015. The Provisions of the Bill include severe penalties and punishment for undisclosed foreign income and assets. It is also mandatory to quote PAN for purchase or sale of above Rs. 1 lakh.31. Connecting India like Never BeforePM Modi's government has been giving a huge boost to infrastructure. Railways, Roads, and Shipping have been the focus to augment this infrastructure and aid in connectivity. The Railway budget focuses on structural and infrastructural reforms. New trains are announced on a regular rather than on an annual basis.Various passenger-friendly amenities including Wi-fi on railway stations, passenger helpline (138), security helpline (182), paperless unreserved ticketing, e-catering, mobile security app and CCTV cameras for the safety of women, etc have been launched. The railways will serve as a locomotive of the economy and connect mines, coasts, etc.32. Empowering the Different States Equally With Boost To FederalismPM Modi has stressed on the need to leverage co-operative & competitive federalism to achieve all-round growth. For a long time, we have seen a Big Brother relationship between the Centre & States. A ‘One Size Fits All’ approach had been used for years, not taking into account the heterogeneity of different states and their local requirements.The NITI Aayog was formed to further empower and strengthen the states. An important evolutionary change from the past will be replacing a Union-to-State one-way flow of policy by a genuine and continuing partnership with the states. NITI Aayog will act with speed, to provide the strategic policy vision for the government as well as deal with contingent issues.33. Putting The Indian Economy On A Fast-TrackIndia’s GDP Growth rocketed to 7.4%, which is the fastest among all the large economies of the world. Various rating agencies and think tanks have predicted that India’s growth would accelerate sharply in the next few years under the NDA Government. Banking on the strong fundamentals & reforms being undertaken by the NDA Government, Moody’s upgraded India’s rating from ‘stable’ to ‘positive’ recently.When BRICS was launched, a lot of people felt that the “I” (India) does not belong to the league and India was seen with skepticism. Now, it is India that is perceived to be powering the BRICS as its growth engine.34. Smart Cities MissionSmart Cities Mission is an urban renewal and retrofitting program by the Government of India with a mission to develop 100 cities all over the country making them citizen-friendly and sustainable. The Union Ministry of Urban Development is responsible for implementing the mission in collaboration with the state governments of the respective cities.35. The World Does Yoga TogetherInternational Yoga Day is celebrated annually on 21 June since its inception in 2015. An international day for yoga was declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice attributed mostly to India. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his UN address suggested the date of 21 June, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares special significance in many parts of the world.36. Inhumanity We TrustWhen the conflict in Yemen reached its peak there were people of several nations stuck on the conflict zone. The Government of India left no stone unturned to rescue people, not only Indians but of several Nations. No Doubt A Bold Step DemonetizationDemonetization of the currency means discontinuity of the said currency from circulation and replacing it with a new currency.Most of the people hailed Modi's strong decision, while the poor were shocked by the move. The overnight decision changed the life of many as black money holders were worried about the pile of cash they were sitting on. Many poor daily wage workers were left with no job and income as owners were unable to pay their daily wages.41. He believes in TeamworkPM Modi seems to attribute every bit of success to the party and their teamwork in the hour of need.
