The reason I’m responding to this question is that I am assuming this question is being posed by a younger person who is thinking about applying to Stanford, and would like to know about its alumni. I am writing with this thought in mind, so I have set about trying to describe the amazing and creative people who have sprouted from the school.You may want to read the lists of famous Stanford alumni from other responders of this question for a more comprehensive listing. Other schools have famous alumni as well, so bear this in mind if you’re applying to colllege. I hope in this this response, you might be able to infer the type of persons the admissions committees are looking to accept for at this hard-to-get-into university.As an alumni, I had the chance many years ago to hear a discussion from three famous Supreme Court judges, who spoke together discussing their college experiences and time in the Supreme Court- Stephen Breyer, Anthony Kennedy and Sandra Day O’Conner, how cool is that? Of course, no one was allowed to film or record that conversation! We alumni got to hear how the campus was during their time while at Stanford as students, and we found out that some things changed, and other things do not. Another famous alumni judge is William Rehnquist, who is a former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.Other famous alumni end up in show business/media, include Sigourney Weaver, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Connelly, Issa Rae, who are all actresses. I remember talking to some alumni who had been classmates of Sigourney, they said that she was quite a genius. Issa Rae was involved in the creation of a series called “Awkward Black Girl”, Jennifer acted in “A Beautiful Mind” and “Labryinth”, Reese was in “Legally Blonde” and in “the Morning Show”. Other alumni is an actor who played in the Wonder Years series, Fred Savage, plus the television news anchor, Ted Koppel who worked at ABC News. One of my fellow co-op members at Stanford was Alfred Lutter III, who was a child actor in the movie, “The Bad News Bears”. He always kept asking me if I’d ever seen his movie, and I’d always say “No, sorry, Alfred, I haven’t”, which today is the same.One alumni cohort before me has another well known alumni, the former governor of California, Gray Davis. I heard that he kept a low profile when he attended. I did meet one of our alumni Senators, Dianne Feinstein, who was the former Mayor of San Francisco. I was once on Dianne’s women’s committee formed to nominate a “Woman of the Year”, a woman who had contributed much to advance our society. Other alumni senators are Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts, who ran a few years ago for president on the Republican ticket and Corey Booker, the first African-American senator from New Jersey.One of the guys in my chem section unit class had won five gold medals in the 1980 Olympic Games, his name was Eric Heiden, he was a long track speed skater. Tiger Woods, the golfer, also attended Stanford. One of my aviation teachers (I started learning flying Cessna planes during my junior year at Stanford) taught Sally Ride, the first female astronaut, how to fly.The famous Stanford football play (our star quarterback, John Elway, was in that game), occurred during my time at Stanford, our infamous band had thought the football game was over, and started running across the endlines before the play was over, and we lost the game. Our students came back in the late evening, and I think that everyone was extremely upset that we had lost and everyone was very mad at our band. At the time, John’s dad was the head football coach at the school where my mom graduated (San Jose State University), I’d always be cheering for Stanford, Mom would be always cheering for San Jose State, because our two teams played against one another in the Pac 10. Discussions around the school dining tables focused on how John must feel to be our quarterback, yet be playing against a team that his dad was coaching. Another famous alumni is Andrew Luck, who was also a quarterback on our team years later, he plays for the Colts in Indianapolis.A few of my girlfriends are well known writers, Naomi Hirahara and Mitali Bose Perkins. Naomi was an English major, she has written a detective series about a Japanese gardener, Mas Fukai, who gets involved in solving mysteries. Mitali writes international children’s books, I knew her when she was dating her husband while we were undergraduates.Another girlfriend, Fran Meier, helped to found Match.com. I think that it is really cool that even today, Fran is so helpful in mentoring other young, aspiring entrepreneur women who are in the tech field. Merely minutes before his attack Artan cited on Facebook that violence and oppression toward Muslims was the reason behind his attack.At two violent ANTIFA riots in Berkeley, a masked man went on a bloody rampage with a bicycle D-lock violently assaulting multiple people. Many people, including a victim, believe the perpetrator to be Eric Clanton, professor of ethics at Diablo Valley College.··4chan Investigation exposes Eric Clanton pictured with Bicycle D-LockThe result of a 4chan digital investigation using stills gained from captured footage of the Berkeley event revealed that the D-lock attacker was in fact Professor Clanton. Go wild ANTIFA member Clanton was eventually arrested on a $200,000 bail bond after some time on the run from public interest, scrutiny and the law. Clanton was eventually charged with four counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon, causing great bodily injury. Court records reveal Clanton took a deal resulting in three years of probation (lasting till Aug. 8, 2021) for the vicious attack at the Berkeley protest.To further interest Professor Clanton’s legal attorney is Dan Siegel; a Communist lawyer. I think the only one that might not require this is UC Berkeley, and it is not apart of the UC Post-Bac Consortium (or whatever it's called) that provides you with the extra help of getting in (I believe). If you meet this criteria, then all is well. But if not, you're going to need to figure out another alternative.I really don't see what the big deal is about California. Born and raised, all of my family and majority of my friends are here, and I could give a rat's *** about staying here for the rest of my life. Not to knock you and your motivations, but my goal is MEDICAL SCHOOL, not medical school in California. If you do exceptionally well at a school anywhere else in the country, you won't have trouble coming back here. To me, 4 years is a breath of fresh air from California and a chance to see another part of the country and how it lives. I met a few CSU students during UCSF second look weekend. so it definitely happens.Appless It happens, but as a whole CSU are going to be less competitive then UC students. They are seen as inferior schools like it or not and probably 95% of people who want to be pre meds end up at a UC somewhere. Furthermore, the opportunities at a CSU are going to be less which regardless of whether or not the CSU name matters, will hurt your app. Research is obviously a huge part in getting into UC schools as well as USC and other top schools and at CSUs, research just isnt going to happen at near the same level as a UC if it happens at all since not even all CSUs can grant phds for science. UCs have the monopoly on research in cali. Unfortunately, you should have transferred to a UC. Your chances arent over but you need to have other areas such as a great mcat to help you out. CSU gpas are indeed insanely inflated.
