My studios were great, and most of the studio professors were part of the former group, while several of the support courses were taught by the latter. I am part of the architecture school and some of my experiences with the administration were confusing, specifically regarding the 5-year Master of Architecture program. Sometimes I felt as if my particular class year was being pushed under the rug, as there have been several changes of administration during my time here. To give them the benefit of the doubt, the administration do their best to try to keep us informed of such changes and try to be transparent about them. The financial aid is lacking in my opinion, but it is tolerable since they are such an affordable 4-year institute in the first place. I really enjoyed the activities and interacting with other students. Western Iowa tech offers many activities, but I still wish there were a few more. I would’ve love to get more involved but I found myself not being able to find many things I was interested in. I commuted to college for the first semester and part of the second and was planning to dorm but my plans did not hold up. This fall I am hoping to dorm, as I feel like I will be more involved if I dorm on campus.
