Starting a business is probably easier in the USA than it is in many other parts of the world. Most people who think of starting a business think about what they will offer as a product, goods, or services. Selling to the Government involves, on average, more paperwork than other markets; for example, you may have to write a proposal, register in a contractor database, apply for various ID numbers, and so on. But none of that is terribly difficult.You may think of renting an office, hiring workers, or producing some product. But, the most important thing you need is a customer. If somebody who works for the Government, or even for a large, established Government contractor, knows who you are and believes that you can provide products or services that are needed on some project, or just to sustain agency operations, that is the first step. So, you need to think about what you can do: write programs, manage a team, supply workers with certain skills… and then try to talk to as many likely buyers as you can, whether by phone or email or through LinkedIn on the internet, or some other means. You could start by making a list of those you know who work for the Government, or for a large Government contractor, tell them what you’re thinking of doing, and ask if they could use what you want to do (or know somebody who could).There are resources to help you. In the USA, there is the Small Business Administration, who have programs to help small businesses. Are you a recognized minority, or live in a disadvantaged area? Those kind of things can help your cause. And, most large contractors have a small business subcontracting plan and goals (for example, 5% of the contract revenue) for giving work to small businesses. You can talk to the project manager for the contract, or a small business advocate in the corporate procurement shop.You don’t need an incorporated business to do any of the above. If somebody seriously wants to give you work, you can incorporate in many states for less than $200, I believe. But, before you spend money or invest time and energy in all kinds of other things, you need a solid prospective first customer. Good luck to you!

Personally, my main question is: What is the plan, what is going to happen to animals?Taking something like a rabbit/hare, what is the plan?Would they be excluded from all the world’s arable land, and be relegated to only zoos and a couple of wildlife sanctuaries?And then there, they will live and reproduce… And then be eaten?Are they supposed to not exist at all, to ensure that none are eaten?Would we keep them all in cages to try and ensure that they die of old age, not being eaten by anything?Is the farmer shooting them when they get into the field, and then we make things better by not eating the dead rabbit somehow?One book about vegan agriculture suggested setting perches for birds of prey on top of a field to have the birds eat the rabbits, is that the idea, that we kill them, but indirectly, so we feel less responsible about them dying and being digested?If it’s ok for the hawk to kill the rabbit, and it’s ok for me to create the situation in which the hawk kills the rabbit to eat it, why is it not ok for me to just do the job myself instead of subcontracting to a hawk?The whole part about factory farms being bad, I can absolutely agree on.Still, what is the plan?Should animals be prevented from existing, in order to prevent them from dying?Are we ok with them dying and being eaten, as long as we are only indirectly responsible, and not the ones eating them? Does it really make a huge different to the rabbit what animal is killing and eating it?Are we to assume that rabbits live and die and are eaten, and that it’s not the end of the world?Maybe we can all agree that kicking puppies is not good?That there can be animal abuse even if nobody is eating animals?Perhaps the whole “eating” part isn’t actually the main issue?And we can talk about what the plan is, how humans and animals are going to be on the same planet and interact with each other, without dooming animals to non-existence?Get past that whole false dichotomy, where either a chicken exists in a factory farm, or not at all?
