Are the glands closed or are they draining pus?If your course requires that you have to stay in Canada for more than 6 months, and I trust it is so, you have to undergo a medical exam.If you have already applied for a student permit, I trust you already have, you will receive medical instructions from the visa office to get a medical exam done from a panel of physicians whom they have approved. The visa office will also send you a Medical Report form (IMM 1017E). Within 30 days of receiving instructions from the visa office, you will have to meet a approved panel physician for getting a medical exam. Once an appointment with the doctor is made, take with you your proper identification [passport, driver’s license], spectacles/contact lenses if you use them, all previous and existing medical reports, and the Medical Report form (IMM 1017E) that has been sent to you. I anticipate that the physician will direct you to a designated centre for microscopic examination of your sputum and also an X-ray of your chest. When you report to the doctor with your reports, he will send your medical exam report to the immigration office. Your test reports will not be returned. Based upon the doctor’s report, the immigration office makes the final decision to accept or reject your application. In case they find a problem with your medical exam, the visa office will communicate the same to you in writing. You will also have to pay the fees towards the medical exam and all the tests that are called for. In case your application is rejected, this fees will not be refunded.If you have not yet applied for a permit, you can get an upfront medical exam done in order to save up on time.
