What are the true policy objectives of the Peace Corps?

Oddly enough, I believe the true policy objectives of the Peace Corps is to have an impact on its participants.I have spoken to several who were stationed in Africa and Central America over a thirty year period, and it is the one common factor: the impact that the experience had on the young Americans who participated. True, those who wanted to change the world were unhappy because they were disappointed in their impact, but those that wanted to experience the world thought it the greatest experience of their lives. Those that planned the "expeditions" or assignments, knew that the richness of the experience was all that could be counted on, and perhaps it has value, just for that. Even those that were disappointed in their impact on the world cannot deny the valuable lessons they received from the impact the world had upon them.

Have you ever experienced karma in real life?

Obviously yes..I was in relationship for almost 6 years. We were in engineering when we got committed. V worked for almost 2 years after our studies and then we planned to make our higher studies in Germany cos it would be easier for us to convince our parents for marriage. Everything was seem to be good in our life(except small and cute little fights) until this plan.We both applied together but unfortunately i got admission in 2 colleges as i was electronics engineer and he was mechanical engineer hence he got rejection from 7 universities & was waiting for reply from one university. We decided i shall move to Germany and I moved. While he was still waiting.Everything was new to me in Germany. Being south Indian i did not speak hindi much, in my university there were many North Indians due to which i tend to start learning Hindi. I got lot of attention from my friends cos of my Hindi accent. Since i was getting attention I was on cloud 9 and started going out with friends, making plans for friend’s birthday, started drinking alcohol etc. While i was doing this i forgot that there was my boy waiting for my calls, msgs etc. Due to this we were fighting alot. Due to fights i thought long distance is not working for us.Mean while there was one guy from my German university who was north Indian and he was finding same problems as me in his 4 years relationship. Due to this common factor we got along well. He was flirting with me openly and i thought he is caring for me and started feeling for him. On the other hand due to my attraction towards this north Indian guy i started ignoring my boy and completely stopped speaking to him. During this time he also got admission in Germany in November. But i was ignorant towards him and dint even bother to congratulate him, also broke up with him after listening to this news. In parallel i was having good time with this north Indian fellow. My boy out there was suffering cos of break up, i was enjoying, having fun with this north Indian. After 6 months this fellow started crying that he is missing his ex gf and started torturing me that all this in his life happening cos of me. Also started his speaking with his ex gf while he was in relationship with me. I was under shock. I also got to know that they both patched up. Later we broke up. But i was in all pain cos i trusted wrong person and also i was almost in depression for almost 6 months. I was attached to this north Indian very much. Later it was my boy who took me out of this depression. What i did to my first BF samething happened to me after 6 months. This is called Karma. Every persons feeling is not just like playing. Do respect every human and their feelings:)

I am to become a math tutor of a 12 year old. How should I ensure he understands/know what to help him on?

I think the more important question is: “how should I ensure I understand/know what to help him in and do so efficiently”.You want to familiarize yourself with his curriculum as if it were your own. It is vital to plan accordingly given the amount of lessons you are to provide. When it comes to a one-on-one lesson, you are effectively a ‘plumber’ — you will likely be a temporary ‘fix’. It is expected that you will either bring the student up to speed or that you will provide an extra challenge to help them hone their skill(s).In either case, it’s imperative for him to:Earn high marksDevelop problem-solving/critical thinking skillsOf course that may be stating the obvious but rote-learning, which seems to be a trap in education, should be avoided like the plague. That sort of thing can lead a student to lose motivation quickly and consequently make your job more difficult. It's great to infuse your own enthusiasm in the hopes that you encourage a sense of purpose in him (of course if you are tutoring math, that should come easily!). Mix in some humor if possible.Find reliable textbooks or create your own problems for him to practice on. (Watching tutoring videos online can also provide you with ideas on how to quickly present the topic). A significant portion of the lesson should include him working examples on his own , after a careful explanation. Divide your allotted time to attempt a fair number of problems. You will need to pay attention to the stage of the problem-solving strategy your student falters on. A simple and popular example may be translating a word problem into an algebraic equation with unknown variable(s), and solving accordingly. In this case, word identification for translation to their respective algebraic operations, identification of unknowns/variables, literacy with any relevant formula, order of operations, finding a greatest common factor, etc. may be required to understand and solve the problem. Identify and prescribe simpler problems to address the stage at which he struggles. This serves as a lego-brick example but it demonstrates how exhaustive the requirements might be, depending on the students current ability. In time and attentiveness, you will be very familiar with their needs.Be patient but persistent. His grades are immediate feedback. You will know you are on the right track when you see that ‘click’ of understanding on their faces occur as well; it almost looks like this::o
