And let me tell you he make you do sums, the way he goes on with the sums is a breeze.PROS:1. Learnt so much of shortcuts (rather than memorizing just the formulas).2. The online test portal is a blessing. Please make use of this.3. English is taught by a Senior Gentleman, who gave us tips on reforming of jumbled sentences (ASKED IN ALL BANK EXAMS) in one go.4. They provided us with some 12 to 13 textbooks and I have hardly opened any (Except the PO MOCK TEST BOOK). All other books are fairly useful as I found the online test series more useful.5. Batch size is apt. They don't push much more than the capacity of the hall.6. Classrooms: Air conditioned and benches are OK!!7. MOST IMPORTANT: They supply monthly GK updates. As it happens, I have done a fair bit of work in this area, and (just because of my own interest) generated pretty good analytical models of the Gemini 9A-vs-Apollo situation, so I can comment on this with a fair bit of confidence.The simple answer to your question is ‘NO’, but now I’m going to tell you a little bit about why this was true.When the EVA portion of the Gemini program began, the situation regarding knowledge of the demands on the EVA crewman could best be summed up as ‘clueless’. That’s not intended to be denigrating to anyone—no one knew anything about this stuff yet. The whole nature of how much work an EVA crewman would have to produce, and the amount of waste heat generated were completely unknown. There was another (somewhat subtle) factor at work here—unlike the portions of the mission such as ascent, rendezvous, re-entry, etc, which were the subject of in-depth analyses by the entire ‘technical community’, and were literally ‘beaten to death’, the EVA planning situation was carried out pretty much by the Flight Crew Office (and some supporting personnel) alone. The engineering talent that was brought to bear on the rest of the mission was not ‘unleashed’ on the EVA problem. This accounts for (probably) most of the difficulties encountered.The crux of the problem was quite simple—for a variety of reasons, the EVA crewmen in Gemini generated ‘waste heat’ at a significantly greater rate than could be removed by their suit’s Environmental Control System (ECS). When the suit ECS was designed, the gaseous oxygen that was fed to the suit for breathing by the crewman was also circulated through the suit for purposes of ‘cooling’ (I put the word ‘cooling’ in quotes here because the amount of cooling that was attainable by the oxygen is so small in comparison to the crewman’s generated heat rate that it is almost a joke). To put a little ‘finer point on it’, the crewman would, under work demand, generate heat at between 10 and 50 times the rate that the oxygen ‘cooling’ could remove it. And, as it happens, when the suit’s internal temperature/humidity situation reached a certain threshold under these circumstances, the ‘humidity separation’ capacity of the suit’s ECS became de-stabilized and could not recover. This resulted in the condensation of enough moisture in the helmet that it condensed on the faceplate. Thus, we have Gene Cernan’s Gemini 9A situation.During this time (and somewhat before) development work was going on for the Apollo suit. The high heat generation rates in Gemini could easily be re-created. The difference was how these were dealt with. The Apollo suit/ECS contractor (which (at the time) were ILC Industries and Hamilton Standard, respectively) reasoned that much higher waste heat removal rates were required. This could only be achieved with a liquid coolant system. This was the genesis of the water-cooled undergarment that was part of the Apollo suit. With a liquid coolant, heat transfer rates of close to 100X higher than the Gemini suit could be achieved realtively easily— it’s just the nature of liquid versus gaseous cooling.Once the ‘paradigm’ for the liquid cooled suit had been established, it then became a matter of making sure that the system was ‘sized’ adequately to cool the crewman during high work output under the most adverse lunar conditions—namely ‘high noon’. Of course, no mission actually placed a crewman under these conditions, but the capacity was there if needed.In summary, no crewman on the lunar surface even came close to the type of ‘thermal overload’ situation that several of the Gemini crewman faced. If you listen to air-to-ground communications during some of the Apollo lunar EVAs, you will hear remarks to the effect that PLSS coolant flow was usually in ‘minimum’. This should tell you something. Also, one or two of the crewmen commented that if they ‘turned the flow up’, and they weren’t real active, that they would get cold inside the suit!I hope you find the above helpful.
