I tried working for Walmart in 2015–2016. I worked in maintenance, nothing special. My job was to maintain the store and property, and handle any messes. It was straightforward. That said, getting the job and keeping it certainly weren’t. I don’t have a vehicle, so I routinely walked 3.4 miles to work five days a week in wind, rain, sun, and snow. In the winter of 2015, I walked to work in 8 degree (Fahrenheit) weather (this is Oklahoma), and was still told I might get fired. Several of my coworkers appreciated it, and we had 38 call-ins of a staff of just under 100 that day.So, I worked forty hours a week, walk about 35–60 miles a week, put up with all the best and worst customers can provide, and had to deal with shoddy management staff who didn’t know how to communicate. My supervisor got fired, and the one I ended up with had no clue what my job entailed, but proceeded to deride me at every turn for not doing my job correctly. This same supervisor had several complaints lodged against her, but the upper management refused to act. So we had a handful of rotten managers, a number of bitter, gossipy staff, and a management team who was completely out of touch. I was routinely sent out to waste my time to clean trash from an adjoining lot that the store didn’t own. When I suggested a fence, I was ignored, and when one of my supervisors asked why we were even out there, they sent him out too.This nonsense culminated in September of 2016. The maintenance staff was asked to work several extra hours to cover some recent terminations. At $15 an hour, that sounds good. On Monday evening, I check my schedule to make sure I have work the next day only to find out I have been removed from the schedule without notice and the aforementioned supervisor is gone, so nobody knows what happened. I get bounced around for nearly two hours, with even the store manager telling me to “get back to work” before Personnel can figure out what happened. Basically, my supervisor had violated policy when she revised the schedule, and they cut more of my time to compensate. When I complained that I should have been made aware, they shrugged their shoulders. I let slip a single profanity about the situation, and they fired me for it two days later. I was fired from my job for something I did off the clock in response to one of their managers fucking up, and she got off scot-free. Indian Army is selfless service to the nation, before joining the services you should be very well aware about the life and work culture of the elite organization. How does a soldier spend his day? What routine does the Army men follow depends on where he/she is posted. In Indian Army, different Arms and services, because of the typical work content, follow different routines. But a routine generally applicable in Indian Army when the unit is located to a proper peace/family station, is given below.Daily routine of Indian Army Soldiers:·Reveille (out of bed)- 5:00 hrs (There is a proper bugle call by the Quarter Guard)PT Time- 6:00-6:45 hrs (officers must attend)Training/Parade Time- 08:00-12:30 hrs (officers attend to office work)Lunch- 13:00- 13:45 hrsLeisure- 13:45-1500 hrsWorking time/ Getting the cantt area into shape: 15:00-16:00Game Parade: 16:15-17:30 (On week days officers must play troop games)Roll Call- 18:30 (By this time they should have taken a bath, changed into mufti or uniform as applicable). Indian Army is an organization where your troops’ religion is yours and under this single roof everyone is equal. In peace stations troops are also allowed out pass.The routine changes in field areas where forward post localities have to be manned along the line of control or super high altitude areas. It includes operational duties, maintenance of defence works, dealing with firing across border etc is added on to the base routine. However, in counter insurgency areas the operational load is so intense that the part of the routine has to be sacrificed. Life becomes quite intense because of the unpredictability, sustained operation and pressure to show results.

Work/Rest Overview:In general the crew will work a five day work week at 6.5 hours a day (Mon-Fri). There is time that is not included in the 6.5 hours for daily conferences with the ground and work preparations (e.g. reviewing procedures). The work day typically starts around 8:00 GMT (details on the work content below). Saturday and Sunday is treated as off duty, but the crew will be scheduled for a few hours of routine housekeeping and personal conferences. Crews also enjoy about three holidays per 6 month tour. The holidays vary from year to year depending on the crew complement (CSA, ESA, JAXA, RSA, NASA crew members). All six crew observe the holiday together. Finally, there may be off duty periods surrounding complex events that require sleep shifting or long work days (e.g. space walks). These off duty periods are governed by a set of rules that the planners follow.What are they doing all day?Science is the priority of a crew member's day. They will spend the majority of an average week executing various science objectives from around the world. A lot of the time the principal investigator of a particular experiment will support the crew as they execute an experiment run. For science details see: NASA - Space Station Research and Technology The crew also spends a good portion of their time performing medical, maintenance, and visiting vehicle tasks. The ISS is quite busy these days with Soyuz (RSA), Progress (RSA), ATV (ESA), HTV (JAXA), Dragon (SpaceX), and Cygnus (Orbital Sciences) spacecraft coming and going. The crew has a lot of preparation work to get the ISS ready for each vehicle (training, stowage, etc) and of course that work continues once the hatches open to each vehicle (unpack, pack). The crew will also see regular public affairs events, emergency training exercises, and outfitting of new hardware as required.A couple misc notes: The crew is scheduled to exercise 2.5 hours a day to counter the effects of microgravity on the body. They also have an hour lunch break.
