What’s the least known but best place in Yellowstone?
This is a very tough question. And it All comes down to personal favorites. Many folks do NOT understand that Yellowstone’s Marina Rents Watercraft by the hour, so you can take a boat out onto Lake Yellowstone. Some folks do Not understand that Back Country areas are NOT part of the traditional Yellowstone experience of the General Public, since most Back Country experiences are part of either NPS or Private Tours (Additional Costs) or Available by purchasing Permits from the NPS (So, they know you are in the Back Country for your safety). The last area I can address is the Firehole River. Most visitors do NOT understand that, unlike Lake Yellowstone, you can Swim in the Firehole River. The hard part is finding the access area. Just a Simple sign and parking lot across from an out house. Is the only indication of the Cool to Cold River down a set of steps past some rocks to an awesome swimming area. I visited Yellowstone in August 2017 and it was a Hot Week. Most days were in the upper 90’s F. This was a fun way to cool off. Lets give you some links to these overlooked Yellowstone Areas.
