I answered a question like this not too long ago but I’ve acquired more knowledge since then when it comes to 40 widths.In my other answer I basically said 20 width divisions were the very good or the best. While that was wrong 20 widths are still very good if you have a huge front to cover or don’t have the industrial capacity or the manpower to field 40 widths. After watching videos about 40 widths and seeing them in action I started using purely 40 widths infantry and tank wise (not special forces) against AI as well as other players.The result was I noticed that 40 widths were extremely good on the attack as compared to 20 widths as well as them being almost unbreakable in defense. To show some examples I will be showing screenshots from a game of Canada I did with 40 widths to show you the templates.Above was my main division template for Canada. I actually think that 40 width divisions are very good for minors with a decent amount of industry and manpower and so far that game I’ve managed to secure a few beachheads and held them for quite awhile. But onto the stats you can see the crazy amount of defense and soft attack although something to be noted is I went with the superior firepower doctrine this game. My divisions can hold a massive onslaught back as well as being able to effectively attack.Above is my heavy tank division for Canada. As you can see it is a monster tank division for just smashing through enemy lines where as a 20 width wouldn’t have been as viable.So to basically finish this up having 20 widths is good but at this point I think 40 widths are the best as they just offer you way more in terms of defense and more importantly attack.I know the A2A was from 2 months ago but thanks and also thanks for reading.

Without increasing the difficulty and avoiding game-breaking division templates, any competent player can just roll over the AI. I once took the USSR as Germany with only 30 thousand deaths to 3 million Soviet deaths. And this was on a medium difficulty and avoiding game-breaking divisions. Playing on the easiest difficulty will allow you to easily defeat the AI. Hell, you don’t even have to fight. Just play as a Latin American nation and wait the war out. Join the faction of whoever wins and you’re set.Me? I would play as the United States on the absolute easiest difficulty possible. Pretty much any competent US player can keep anybody from successfully invading North America. I would turn fascist, and conquer the entirety of Latin America, which no other nation will oppose. I could then pit the other nations against one another for my benefit. First I would attack Japan from the Philippines. In the new update, Japan and Germany don’t fight each other’s wars. By allying with China, I will have the ability to dislodge Japan from the mainland Asia. I have the options of invading from the Taiwanese islands or Korea. The Japanese main islands very rarely have much infantry garrisoned there, so I can use paratroopers to avoid having to secure naval dominance.Now that Japan is defeated, the US has a vital foothold in Asia. If I managed to defeat Japan before 1941 I would betray China to get a better foothold in Asia. If not, I would ignore China for the time being. Then I would join Germany in their attack on the Soviet Union (but not on the Allies). To keep Germany from doing too good, I would supply the Allies. After the USSR is defeated and partitioned between me and Germany, I would betray Germany and join the allies, invading from the parts of the Soviet Union I now own. When Germany and Italy are defeated, there would be only two great powers remaining (France and Britain). I spend the next year mopping up the rest of the world before attacking the allies.Invading western Europe from however far I have advanced westward will allow me to easily defeat France and then either use paratroopers or naval invasion to defeat the UK. After that, all I have to do is mop up the rest of the world.Plus Hearts of Iron has cheat codes, which I know how to use.
