Reedsy is my all time favorite tool for several reasons:Interface. The interface is super nice and easy to navigateFocus on the essential. You have limited (only the very essential) options for formatting which actually liberates your writing so you don’t worry about lines and fontsCloud Based. It is cloud-based so you can work from any computer, and there is always a back-up of your notes. No more lost text from forgetting to save.Development. It is a SaaS product, and they are continuously adding new features. Just while I have been using it (2 months) they have added several new features.No more lacking. I found that Microsoft word starts having trouble loading when you get over 45 pages. Google Drive it is starts have trouble around 80 in my experience. But because you only see the current chapter you are working on in Reedsy, there is no lacking.Ready to publish. When you work in MS Word, it is by default formattet to A4, which is not the a very common book format. Reedsy format the text according to what books you have. And you can download it as a mobi, epub or pdf.It is free. The platform is free to use. What Reedsy make money on is a platform that connects authors with editors the same way Airbnb connects house owners with visitors.Hire Freelancer. From their platform you have access to a lot of professional freelancers, that have been through a (in my experience) pretty thorough qualification process by Reedsy itself, in order to keep standards high.Overall, I am a great fan (and I am not associated - I get no money for recommending Reedsy). I have tried Word, Google Docs, and even Evernote, and none of them was build specifically for writing books; Reedsy is. I still use Word for reports as I need pictures and graphs; Google Docs for storing ideas and information; and Evernote, for notes on-the-go.Then I have a Morgue File which is just a small note book I capture things in when i don’t have access to my mobile (always a great conversation starter at dinners), which i later punch into Evernote.I am currently experimenting with A Commonplace Book system, as described by Ryan, but as I live in Denmark I haven’t been able to find anywhere they sell the stuff need he uses. So of now, I use an old lunchbox and cut-out carton as index cards. Not optimal, but ok for pretotyping.It may sound difficult, but I actually know where everything is, and I rarely get stuck looking for something - a good search-function is really an underestimated wonder.Since writing this: For about a month ago Reedsy for some reason chose to change their interface, and it have made it incredibly more difficult to work in. It doesn’t remember all your changes, doesn’t always change the title to want you want it to, and the text looks cramped in the editor.However, the export of PDF looks like it did before, which again is a problem as it looks nothing like what you see in your editor. I don’t see the benefit from a UI point of view here.
