Who was behind Nambi Narayanan's ISRO spy case?
S. Nambi(12 December 1941) is an Indian scientist and aerospace engineer and Padma Bhushan award winner. As a senior official at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), he was in-charge of the cryogenics division. In 1994, he was falsely charged with espionage and arrested. The case-In 1994, Narayanan was charged with leaking vital defence secrets to two alleged Maldivian intelligence officers, Mariam Rasheeda and Fauzia Hassan. Defense officials said the secrets pertained to highly confidential "flight test data" from experiments with rocket and satellite launches. Narayanan was among two scientists (the other being D. Sasikumaran) that were accused of selling the secrets for millions. However, his house seemed nothing out of the ordinary and did not show signs of the corrupt gains he was accused of.Narayanan was arrested and spent 48 days in jail. He says that the Intelligence Bureau (IB) officials who interrogated him wanted him to make false accusations against the top brass of ISRO. He alleges that two IB officials had asked him to implicate A. E. Muthunayagam, his boss and then Director of the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC). When he refused to comply, he was tortured until he collapsed and was hospitalised. He says his main complaint against ISRO is that it did not support him. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, who was ISRO chairman at the time stated that ISRO could not interfere in a legal matter. In May 1996, the charges were dismissed as phony by the CBI. They were also dismissed by the Supreme Court in April 1998. In September 1999, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) passed strictures against the government of Kerala for having damaged Narayanan's distinguished career in space research along with the physical and mental torture to which he and his family were subjected. After the dismissal of charges against them, the two scientists, Sasikumar and Narayanan were transferred out of Thiruvananthapuram and were given desk jobs.In 2001, the NHRC ordered the government of Kerala to pay him a compensation of ₹1 crore. He retired in 2001. The Kerala High Court ordered a compensation amount of Rs 10 lakhs to be paid to Nambi Narayanan based on an appeal from NHRC India in September 2012.On 3 October 2012, The Hindu reported that Kerala government had dropped charges against the police officials who were alleged to have falsely implicated Narayanan in the espionage case on the grounds that over 15 years had passed since the case was initiated. The top officer involved in the case, Siby Mathews was later appointed Chief Information Commissioner in Kerala (2011 - 2016).It was reported on 8 November 2012 that Kerala government had not complied to the Kerala High Court order to pay compensation Rs 10 lakhs. So who actually was after all this? The so called super power u.s.a(i wrote that in small letters as that's what the nation deserves!)In 1992, India signed an agreement with Russia for transfer of technology to develop cryogenic fuel-based engines and procurement of two such engines for ₹235 crore. However, it did not materialize after the US president George H. W. Bush wrote to Russia, raising objections against the transfer of technology and even threatening to blacklist the country from the select-five club. Russia, under Boris Yeltsin, succumbed to the pressure and denied the technology to India. To bypass this monopoly, India signed a new agreement with Russia to fabricate four cryogenic engines, alongside two mockups for a total of US$9 million, after floating a global tender without a formal transfer of technology. ISRO had already reached a consensus with Kerala Hitech Industries Limited which would have provided the cheapest tender for fabricating engines. But this did fail to materialize as the spy scandal surfaced in late 1994.After working for nearly two decades, with French assistance, Narayanan's team developed the Vikas engine used by several ISRO rockets including the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) that took Chandrayaan-1 to the moon in 2008. The Vikas engine is used in the second stage of PSLV and as the second and the four strap-on stages of Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV).Now what's going on?In October 2018, a biographical film titled Rocketry: The Nambi Effect written and co-directed by R. Madhavan was announced.[The teaser of the film was released on 31 October 2018 and the film is scheduled to release in mid-2019.On Jan 26th 2019, he was conferred the Padma Bhushan award by the Government of India. So what can we Indian's do? What can we learn from this terrible incident? It is saddening to see one of our eminent scientists end up in such circumstances and still no media house, political parties, actor's and actresses have had time to even raise the ISSUE!This shows their negligence and at the same time raises a question before us.Who are the real stars? They who dance in semi-nude attires? Or those, who ,without any hesitation have dedicated their lives to the national cause?Time to rethink our heroes!Rise up Indians! Rise up!Jai Hind.
We all know that India is jealous of Pakistan. When will Pakistan defeat India in a war with the help of its big brother China?
There are 100+ answers to the question, so let me put my small contribution in expanding the list:Before I answer the question let us check what is there in Pakistan which makes India Jealous of Pakistan:a. Democracy the kind of democracy that Pakistan is should make entire globe jealous of them.b. Military rulers: yes there are many in India who long for a strong DICTATOR and are Jealous at how easily Pakistani army can seize power.c. Constitution : it took Pakistan 24–25 years to approve a constitution where as India could have constitution ready and proclaimed Republic in 1950 i.e. within 3 years of gaining independence.d. Poverty : it is estimated that nearly 40% of Pakistani live below Poverty ( discussion on Pakistani TV channels).e. Polio : Pakistani is only one of 3 nations in globe where Polio is still endemic and Polio campaign in a Failure.f. Pakistani Hospitals: Pakistani medical and health services is so advanced that most people if they can afford do not utilize their services but go to US, UK, Dubai and India for treatment .g. Pakistani history : please refer to Murder Of History by Prof. K K Aziz.h. Peace and Tranquility : Pakistan is so peaceful that in every act of terrorism committed any where in globe the TAIL end in Pakistan, Osama was hidden near army cantonment in Abbotabad.i. Political system: Political system is so transparent that every international designated terrorist has launched a Political Party.j. Safety : it is on records that Professors of universities in Pakhtoonwa are allowed to carry arms to the class , Pakistan has largest number of Suicide bombing anywhere in globe, Terrorist take pleasure in targeting children in schools, families in parks and pilgrims to religious places.k. Language policy : the national language of Pakistan is not spoken by more than 15% of population, imposition of URDU as national language over the better credentials of Bengali sowed the seeds of disintegration and creation of Bangladesh.m. Seats in Parliament : the seats in Parliament are skewed in such a manner that any political party who wins Punjab can form the government even if the political party has lost all the seats in other provinces.n. Armed Forces : Armed forces of Pakistan control 60% of GDP of Pakistan, the military-commercial complex of Pakistan produces and exports everything from arms, armament, fertilizer, sugar, cement , steel etc etc.o.Space Program : which is older than India but has not produced a satellite or anything else.Pakistan began space programme 8 years before India, but ISRO is galaxies ahead nowp. Railways: Kindly see any comparison on Railways present on Youtube, its services are curtailed, the losses are accumulating and highest in history, the rolling stock has not been replaced, the Land is under encroachment etc etcq. Film Industry : A Bahubali does more business than all the release of Pakistani movies, the theaters are profitable and viable only when they screen Indian movies, They do not have indigenous cartoon series, The high noon of Popularity of Pakistani drama is long over, Actresses are beautiful, actors are competant, singers have a tradition but all of them have no work in Pakistan and most of them come to India and find work and Popularity….r. Availability of Drugs : even Aircraft of PIA are being used to smuggle narcotics across the globe, recently flight to Heathrow along with staff was arrested with Kilos and Kilos of drugs.s. Ease of travel and VISA : Today Pakistani passport is in list of bottom 10 countries for smooth travel across the globe other countries near to it our Sudan, Syria, Libya and Afghanistan.t. Foreign Relations: Pakistan fought 1965, 1971 and 1996 wars with arms procured from US and was soundly defeated, News Papers are filled with status of Pakistan's relationship with Europe and US.u. Economy : The economy of Mumbai is larger than Pakistan, The IT exports from India are three times the total exports from Pakistan, the foreign reserve of Pakistan are $20 billion as compared to $350 billion for India. Pakistan faces payment crisis in March 2018 when it has to pay $11 billion in principal, interest to multilateral agenciesv. School and college education and research : just listen to Prof. Pervez Hoodbhay Nuclear Physicist , Mathematician and HOD of Physics at Lahore University to understand it, these are available on you tube.?????w. China: Pakistani hawks are living in fools paradise when they describe China as their Big Brother and expect china to help it in defeating India because whatever the relationship Pakistan has with china, the economic relation between India and China are double that amount and are increasing every year. china will not take any step which will jeopardize that relationship for example just look at DOKLAM issue, The cultural relationship between India and China are thousands of years long which even china recognizes is Skewed in Favour of India.China’s investment in Pakistan are in the form of LOANS not development AID and once Pakistan is unable to pay or run the project same will be taken/brought over by china for example just visit status of similar project in Sri Lanka…The above are few reasons which make India Jealous of Pakistan and red with envy and now regarding Pakistan beating India in any war:a. Pakistan has not won any war with India.b. It lost 1947–48, 1965, 1971, 1999-Kargil.c. Today the difference between economy of India and Pakistan is so huge that Pakistan cannot sustain any war beyond 7 days where as India can sustain war for 45–60 days.d. The instability in borders regions particularly FATA, Waziristan, On Durand Line, Balochistan, POK is such that any war which goes beyond 5–7 days decreases direct control of army and government in these regions and areas…e. If Pakistan wishes to gamble Now is the time because as the time passes Indian economy would grow more stronger, India’s relationship with world powers will grow more robust, and deep and chances of any role for Chinese will keep on reducing. So the fact is that the day when Pakistan can defeat India is fast receding and fast proving to be a MIRAGE and DREAM which they always were and its high time that people who wish for India’s defeat in war and destruction should realize that mirages and dreams are not truths and facts and cannot or could not be fulfilled. It is 70 years since Pakistan has been following this mirage and trying to fulfil this dream…..but could not.
