What do the people of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Wales call their town when they're talking fast or don't have time to pronounce the whole thing?

Before I start answering this question with no actual Welsh expertise, can I shout out Google for supplying a Greek transliteration of the place?ΧλανβαϊρπουχγκουίνγκιλKhlanvaïrpoukhgouingil. That looks almost reasonable!Llanfairpwllgwyngyll - WikipediaBear in mind that the lengthened form of the name, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, “St Mary’s Church of the white hazels pool, over against the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave”, was a 19th century publicity stunt. There isn’t even a red cave anywhere near the village: they copied -gogogoch from Llandysiliogogo, which is on the other side of Wales. If Llandysiliogogo has a red cave for their church of St Tysilio in its name, then dammit, the Llanfairpwll church was going to claim one too.The reliquary of St Tysilio (Great is his grace!), in Sizun, France. The real name of the place is just Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll (and yes, I’m making a point of choosing the two word version): “St Mary’s Church of the white hazels pool”:The village is, however, still signposted Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, marked on Ordnance Survey maps as Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll and the railway station is officially named Llanfairpwll, a form used by local residents. In fact the original mediaeval name of the place was Pwllgwyngyll: “St Mary’s” was added on as the name of the parish. People (including locals) often refer to it by the abbreviated forms Llanfairpwll (“St Mary’s Church of the pool”) and Llanfair PG.Even when they have the time to pronounce the whole thing, the locals, I presume, aren’t going to bother to add the hyped up -gogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.Unless they’re trying to impress tourists.I gotta say, Welsh is astonishingly succinct in its naming, if anything. The Greek equivalent of Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll would be something like Αγιά-Μαρία η Ασπροφουντουκολιμνιώτισσα Agia Maria i Asprofoundoukolimniotissa.

What is the Christmas tradition of the Roraty in Poland?

Thank you for the A2A Shreya Mehta. The name of this tradition comes from Latin words: Rorate caeli (Isaiah 45.8 in the Vulgate). This is translated as “'Drop down, ye heavens” in English. The text express longing of Patriarchs and Prophets for coming of the Messiah. It is frequently used in Christian liturgy during Advent. The Rorate Mass is a Votive Mass in honor of the Virgin Mary for the season of Advent[1]. It is celebrated early in the morning, five days a week during Advent. In my parish it’s celebrated at 6.30 in the morning. The mass is celebrated before the sunrise, in the church illuminated by the candlelight, with electric light turned off. This is a beautiful and moving celebration. Attendance requires some self-discipline particularly of people who don’t like to get up early.Historically, Roraty were always celebrated early in the morning. In the modern Poland however, a lot of parishes decide to celebrate this mass on the late evening, due to participation of children.Thank you for reading,/Lucky/Footnotes[1] Rorate caeli - Wikipedia

Was SIDS unheard of before “modern vaccine schedules”?

Put down the crack pipe and get some coffee down you, sonny.A chappie by the name of John Graunt kept track of the causes of death of people living in the 122 parishes of London, during the Plague Years. The edited table (the originals are … not easy to read. Shakefpeare’f Englifh, you know) appears here. This is a portion from that table, covering only causes A-C and the years 1647–1656:Note the highlighted line - ‘Chrisomes, and Infants’.That’s SIDS. Children under the age of a year old, who died for no apparent reason.

What I like the most is the edit and sign features. Being a designer and working with clients, it is not always that easy to schedule face to face meetings. Using PDF Reader Pro I can send my clients an email and they can edit and modify the file then send it back. They can even sign it when it is required.
