I'm a 19 year old girl, honestly I don't know if I'm extremely ugly but I would consider myself not attractive as other people. Why? I was a joke to boys. As a teenager, I used to cry every night because of the looks they gave me. Hearing them whisper behind my back felt like a needles piercing my skin.I'm slightly overweight, have a little moustache, a unibrow if you look at me closely and have a voice of a boy, I've been said that a lot of times. Once, my seniors asked me to pretend as a boy to prank their friend because they said I have a voice of a boy and that she(their friend) would fall for it.Also, some people only want to take a picture with attractive people so that it would look good on their feed. So yeah, I'm not in a lot of people's feed.But that never stopped me from enjoying my life the way I want. I'm still thankful for everything that I have now and to my parents for raising me awesomely right. I'm funny and nice, people like me for that. I wouldn't have to worry if people like me for my look and if one day, I found a man, I would know for sure that he likes me for me and not for my look. I'm so blessed that I was born in a family with a really stable economy. I've done things and been to places that some people could just dream of and my family love each other. Something that some people don't have it.The most important thing you need to know if you're not as attractive as other people, you need to look at the good side of everything and enjoy your life rather than worry about what other people think of you and the fact that people like you for you :)Me chilling on my entrance exam.Edit : I don't know who asked this because you went anonymous but I just want to tell you, I also have suffered daily for this, I couldn't speak out til I was 17 years old because I used to worry about what people would think about my voice. It affected my self esteem so bad, I couldn't look at myself directly in the mirror. The only reason I can possibly be what I am today is because I let myself go. Don't be too hard on yourself. Surround yourself with positive people. If your friend points out a not so attractive side of you, she's not a good friend to have around in your life. I left all the negative people behind and now, all I see are the people that love me. I won't deny that being pretty makes life a little bit easier but it doesn't mean that it would make you happier. I knew a flawless skin girl who couldn't see the good things in her life, keeps wanting more and ended up ruining her friendship. To be honest, I would rather be me.Remember, Life is short, spend it loving and laughing rather than regretting things.Edit 2 : This is me first time writing on Quora, didn't expect people would like it. So I used to work for a well known holiday company. I usually kept myself to myself and was fairly quiet, but I enjoyed spending time with the staff. My job was technical but I worked with entertainment dept (ents) on the management team. I'd come straight from uni at this point, so I was a couple years older than most of the ents staff, but no one noticed or cared.Anyway they were chatting about university and none of the entertainers had gone to uni, the odd couple had done dance courses but not a full degree. A young woman who was leading the conversation and was adamant that uni was a stupid thing to do etc she was really vocal and asked me about my experiences at uni. I was quiet and told her a few but she was still defending her position to the death. She started to joke and tease me a little for going to university but when I didnt really respond she ended up saying:“Well let's face it, you've spent 3 years there and you're here with us, so what's uni got you?”“About 3k a year more than you and a management job."She shut up after that.EDIT: This answer hasnt even been up 24 hours and has got over 1k up votes- so thanks!
