There is an easy test to determine if your fabric needs stain protection. Pour a drop of water onto the fabric, if it beads up it is already protected. If it doesn't bead up it would be a good idea to add some. The best fabric protection soaks into the fabric and forms a protective coat around each yarn. Consider fabric protection with Teflon for efficient protection.Scotchgard is better than nothing, it is affordable and you can do it yourself. Scotchgard when dry sits on top of the fabric and after time will need to be reapplied. How long it last depends on how much you use your furniture. Next, go to the far end, randomly label any wire 1, and connect the battery to it. Test which other wire is tied to it at the starting end, and label that wire 2. Then pick another wire other than 1 or 2, label it 3, and tie it to 2, so now the battery is connected to 1, which is tied to 2 at the other end, which is tied to 3 at the end you're at. Now test which wire is tied to 3 at the other end, and label that 4, etc. What you will wind up with is all 120 wires tied to each other in a continuous sequence. Then go back to the end you started at, leaving the battery behind, connected to wire 1. Before you untie all the wires at the starting point, label each wire so that you know which wire was paired with which. Now with all the wires untied at the starting point, test which wire is connected to the battery, and label that 1. Whichever wire was in the same pair as 1, label that 2, and then tie 1 and 2 back together. Now you can find 3, because it's tied to 2 on the far end. Any prince seeing two black hats would instantly know he was wearing a white hat. Therefore if a prince can see one black hat, he can work out he is wearing white.Therefore the only fair test is for all three princes to be wearing white hats. The wise man advises the brothers to change their camels. The ‘owner’ of the camel that enters the city second, is riding the other’s camel. To win the girl he should defeat his own camel. That’s how they rush to the finishing line, to see that their own other camel stays behind.War prisoners planThe minster suggests his people to assign value ‘1’ to Black colour, and ‘2’ to White colour. The last prisoner (the minister himself) shall count the values of the 9 hats before him and if the total is an even number, he shall say ‘white’, or if it is an odd number ‘black’. Minister takes the risk of 50-50 chance, but others are sure to be freed.Here is the example: Minster counts the value of hats. Suppose he finds 3 Black and 6 white hats, the value is (3X1) + (6X2), that is 15.It is an odd number and hence he says his hat colour is “Black”., he is fortunate to be saved If correct or is killed if wrong.Now the guard in front of the minister knows that the value of hats (including his own) is 15. He calculates the value of remaining 8 hats before him.If it is 13, his hat is ‘white’ and if it is 14, his hat is ‘Black’.Too complicated? No. It is easy once you comprehend the logic. Even if there are 1,000 prisoners and 1,000 hats, you can know the colours of every person’s hat except the first (last) one.Suspicious husbandsLet us name A, B and C as husbands, and wives as a, b and c.First A goes along with his wife ‘a’ and returns back to send both the ladies to other side. Then his wife b takes the boat to the other side. For further details see the chart below.A rescuer strategy to reach the top of a hillTotal distance to be covered is 300 meters and the packets are 900. If he takes 300 (the maximum that he can carry) to the hill top, by the time he reaches there, he would be empty handed. Hence there should be some other way to carry the required packets (80 for two people) to the final destination. We should find out three or four places on the way to store the packets. On these terms, here is the solution.First, he takes 300 packets to a distance of 60 meters. Let us call it Point A. While going up to there he consumes 60 packets, keeps 180 packets there and returns with 60 packets to consume midway.Again he takes second batch of another 300 packets, breaths 60, keeps 180 and comes back with 60 packets to breathe while returning.Now he carries the last batch of 300. At Point A, now there are 600 (180 + 180 + 240) packets. From there, he takes 300 packets to a distance of further 100 meters… say Point B.He places 100 there and returns with 100 packets to consume while trekking down. Then he carries the remaining 300 packets to B. Now there are 300 packets at Point B.The final destination from point B to hill top is 140 meters.He carries the 300 packets and arrives there with 160 packets. Both would come down breathing 80 packets each.

The term “Wirenut” is not clearly defined..It is a trade name of Ideal who is an electrical equipment manufacturer…For many years, this type of device was not allowed for joints in electrical wiring other than connecting fixture leads to branch circuit conductors..A fixture joint is usually a 2 conductor joint with a solid and stranded wire... Up until that time, soldering and taping were mostly used in branch circuit wiring…Soldering a twisted joint is still in my estimation, the best low resistance permanent joint that can be used..A wirenut is made of bakelite or some other hard plastic..A tapered thread is molded into the casting.. A spring that is conical in shape is put into the tapered thread.. This makes a rigid connector with no expansion of the connector …The wires are held together and the wirenut is screwed on..The spring inside the wirenut being conical in shape only contacts the wires for a short distance out at the end of the wires......In the early 1950’s 3M, being in the tape business, was wanting a connector that required taping and came up with the Scotchlok....They consisted of a plated steel spring that was conical in shape but had a handle on the small end that enabled the installer to screw it on to the wires that were going into the joint...While turning, the spring, the connector opened enabling the wires to go further up into the connector... There was a scored place on the handle that would break the handle off when it was raised. After this the conductors were cut off at the end of the connector and taped...This type of connector was UL. labeled and was a big success with electrical engineers and electricians..The conductors went all the way through the connector and could be checked before taping..The spring kept constant pressure on the conductors..3M was making them in an existing plant and had to build a new factory to handle the demand for Scotchloks...The instructions were to NOT twist the wires but to hold then parallel to each other and screw the connector on....Many old wire twisters insisted on twisting the joints before putting on the Scotchlok...Apparently 3M re-submitted them to U.L. with instructions to twist the wires before applying the Scotchlok because later the 3M salesmen said the either twist the wires or not ..3M came out with insulated Scotchloks sometime later...They weren’t worried about selling tape if they could sell the connectors....Of course, Ideal now also makes that type of connector with their own trade name as do other companies.
