For those who have less than 5 years of experience, it‘s always good to work as R&D engineer either in Design or Verification. This helps you get strong hold on basic aspects of IP or VIP. Working in infosys won't make a feasible profile to get a job in mechanical engineering companies unless you work in software development.Companies rely heavily on your past experiences unless you are too good in a specific discipline. Mechanical companies need expertise in disciplines which can be learnt only by working in the same. Don't get fooled by IT jobs offered by mechanical companies which are nothing but support and troubleshooting work and has nothing to do with mechanical engineering.Your best bets are- Work in Infosys and learn programming well and apply in mechanical software development jobs in Comsol, Dassault Systems, Mathworks and likes.- Try for a mechanical engineering job while in Infosys.- Look for CAE jobs in companies like Wipro, TCS, EASi who supplies CAE engineers to OEMs like Ford and similar automobile and product based companies.- Go for higher studies and secure a campus job.This may be of help for you.Mukunda Madhava Nath's answer to What are the main industries and machinery where FEA (Finite Element Analysis) used?
